Vegan in Ojai, CA

Oh, hi!!! Get it? Because… Ojai?? Wow, I’m so lame.

Anyway, my friend Carly and I decided to take a fun girl’s road trip to Ojai, California (which is only 1 1/2 hours outside of LA for all of you non-natives lol). For those of you in the dark, Ojai is a small town known for its popular spa at the Ojai Valley Inn and being a “spirituality-focused” region.

After going through a shitty breakup (jeez, breakups are the worst), I knew this retreat would help me ~recenter~ myself. So we got our Fred Segal coffee and headed out into the hills for our spa adventure.

These were the places we were told to go because of their vegan options: The Nest, Food Harmonics, and The Farmer and Cook. Because we intended to spend the day at the spa (because we are so bougie, it hurts), we only had time to grab food at The Nest.

The Nest is a cute little, casual restaurant in the heart of Ojai. Although their menu is not entirely vegan, they do have plenty of vegan options, including the cashew cheese pizza and maple, dijon brussel sprouts.

They were both AMAZING. I don’t even like Brussel sprouts and I absolutely loved these. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe the restaurant changes its menu due to whatever is in season, so I assume the menu will be different if you visit at another time in the year. Either way, I’m sure it’ll be delicious. If not, then, sucks for you??

After The Nest, we headed on over to the Ojai Valley Inn Spa for some Himalayan hot salt stone massages. Here’s a screenshot of my our Instagram story explaining the salt stones. Our instagram is @westcoasttwins #shamelessplug.

Again, although the hotel didn’t have a million vegan options, but the spa itself had a smoothie and juice bar with plenty of vegan options. I got the mint chocolate chip smoothie and it was incredibly light and refreshing! I seriously drank the whole thing. Also, the spa has lavender lemonade and apples, so there’s also that.

So there’s my review of vegan in Ojai. If any of you peeps get the bright idea to leave LA and go on a lil adventure, lmk if you stumble upon any other vegan places!!
