Vegan in Dublin

So guys, I guess I’m a leprechaun now? Ok, was that offensive? I apologize to all my Irish readers out there. (Who am I kidding? We have no readers!)

Anyway, my friend and I went to Dublin for the weekend and here is our list of all of our vegan noshes. Granted, we were only in Dublin for one full day and then we visited the Cliffs of Moher for the next day so we didn’t get to hit up all the stops, but we did see a few. We basically hit it and quit it, you know what I mean?

So, the first day we spent in Dublin, we walked A SHIT TON (according to my apple step-tracker) because we visited Temple Bar, Guiness Storehouse, Trinity College, all the good stuff. Anyway, we worked up quite an apetite and ended up stopping at a great falalfel place called “Umi”which was vegan friendly and had vegan items marked on the menu. Ugh falafel always saves the day. The real MVP.

I just got a regular falafal sandwich in a pita. Very good. Recommend. Not traditional “Irish” food per se, but fuck traditional, am I right ladies?

The next place we went in Dublin is Dublin’s most famous vegan restaurant, “Cornucopia”. We didn’t get the chance to sit down and eat because I was meeting my brother’s new girlfriend at a pub for drinks later that day  because she’s from Dublin (I know! Exciting stuff!) but we did stop for hot chocolate and it was amazeballs.

Since we were gonna bus all the way to the Cliffs of Moher the next day (ugh bus rides can suck my balls), I picked up some snacks right next door to Cornucopia at an all-vegan supermarket called “Nourish”!!! How cool! I didn’t need any kitchen stuff like flour and egg-substitutes or milk, but they literally had everything!! (And I also ate all the snacks that night lol whoops).

I just got some chocolate and other snacks. I apologize for the blurry photo. I guess I’m not cut out for that photographer life doe. Maybe I’ll just become a stripper or something.

UM GUYS. Dublin has vegan donuts!?!?!? YASSSSS. In central Dublin, there is a little donut shop called “Rolling Donut” and the entire shop isn’t vegan but they have an ENTIRE selection of vegan donuts. Ugh yas. Fuck. Me. Up. Fam.

Then if any of you brave souls want to venture to the Cliffs of Moher like we did but are scared you will be starving since you leave at 10 am and don’t get back to Dublin until 11 pm, we got you covered. We made a game plan the night before and executed it properly so we were able to eat breakfast on the bus ride there, lunch in Moher by the cliff side, and snacks on the way back. Watch and learn children.

So, before we got on the bus, we made three stops.

One) Starbucks (For coffee because, duh, caffeine, and oatmeal) This we ate on the 3 hour drive to Moher.

Two) Rolling Donuts box of donuts (To nibble on/devour/swallow whole on the bus ride there/back).

Three) The make-your-own salad place “Chop’t” from New York has made its way to Dublin, but it’s sooooo much better here. So we got chop’t salads and other snacks in the store to take with us. This we ate when we got to the cliffs. Like a cute lil picnic.

Four) So this is sort of when we done fucked up and didn’t plan accordingly. Turns out we are giant fat-asses and ate all our food on the way there/at the cliffs and realized we had no food for the way back (another 3 hours #cool) so we stopped at the Cliffs of Moher visiting center. The only vegan things they had were fucking bananas, apples, and oranges, so I got an orange, a banana, and bottle of water for dinner. Bon appetite.

Whatever, we almost got it perfect. Next time we’ll take the return into account, but either way, I would say we slayed Dublin.
