Vegan in Busan, South Korea 2023

My sister and I were also blessed enough to visit Busan for a day during our 7-day trip to South Korea. For those of you who only know Busan from the famed horror zombie film Train to Busan (pointing at myself), Busan is a coastal Korean city known as the “Miami of South Korea.” It’s literally so beautiful and you must visit if you ever come to South Korea.

Also, they’re trying to be the next location for the 2030 World Expo, so go Busan! I’m rooting for you!!

Anyway, onto the vegan food, Busan was super, super vegan friendly and we were able to find vegan options for lunch, dinner, AND dessert super easily.  Below are some of the many vegan spots (or spots with vegan options) available in Busan!

KSANA VEGAN CAFE

Ksana is located in the countryside of Busan and is this ADORABLE all-vegan French-inspired cafe that serves plenty of fun drinks in the cutest heart-shaped mugs, a daily variety of different cake slices, and peanut butter banana toast. The menu is simple but in the best way possible.

The restaurant itself is also so adorable and Instagram-worthy, so I would go for the vibes alone.

We got a hazelnut latte (incredible), a grapefruit ade (so refreshing), peanut butter banana toast (simple, but perfect), and a slice of their chocolate cake and cinnamon cake. Both were good, but the chocolate cake was a fan fave.

Def a must-go for Busan vegan travelers!!

TOFU GO

Tofu Go is a bibimbop restaurant that isn’t all vegan but has great vegan options. We got the mushroom and tofu (yes, finally some protein) bibimbap bowl, labeled vegan on the menu, as well as a tofu stew that was also labeled vegan. Both were incredibly delicious and hit the spot! If you like bibimbap, this is a great stop. If you don’t then… *side eye*

OH GOOD THING

Oh Good Thing is an AMAZING all-vegan dessert spot that has tons of unique options to try. Not to mention, the person running the store was so, so sweet and adorable and took the time to explain each dessert to us and how she made it. Another proud vegan. We love to see it!!

We got this AMAZING (like “one of the best desserts I’ve ever had” amazing) fig and pistachio cream bread pudding with whiskey sugar-soaked figs and I can’t even explain the genius of this dessert. It’s just one of those things you MUST try with your own taste buds. 11/10. That good and unique and unlike anything I have ever tried.

We also got this sweet potato tofu cream brownie that was so light and airy and had the most drippy chocolate sauce. Really good, but even more aesthetic. I mean, look at those drips!!

We also got some hot cocoa!!! Very subtle in its sweetness, which I loved. And very chocolatey!

Busan is a must, and, if you do go, def check these places out! Busan is good for the 2030 world expo!! Let’s go fam!!
