Vegan at Sushi Snob – Los Angeles, CA

Raise your hand if you’re a basic betch and love getting fancy sushi in cute bento boxes??? 👀🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

Ok, at least one reader had to have raised their hand, right? Or is it just me? Don’t leave me hanging!! Regardless of the show of hands, I’m going to assume everyone loves fancy sushi bento boxes. I’m sure you’ve seen the ones from Sugarfish or Krispy Rice by now and probably many others on Instagram. Well, a new one has hit the market and I’m totally obsessed. It’s called Sushi Snob, except it’s literally spelled $u$hi $nob, because they are apparently trying to be like Miley circa 2013.

From what I believe, Sushi Snob is just take-out so they don’t have an actual restaurant to sit in; although, maybe that will change after the pandemic. Either way, I saw that they had a 100% vegan sushi bento box called “The Vegan Snob” and I HAD to get it. Also, the name of the box literally describes me lmao (that’s a joke).

Inside the box were four rolls: a sweet potato tempura roll, an avocado-cucumber roll, an avocado-tofu roll, and a veggie roll. It also came with a side of edamame, vegan spicy mayo (!!), and the usual fix-ins (ginger, wasabi, soy sauce, and chopsticks).  I LOVEEDDDDDDD the sweet potato tempura roll. I’m craving it as we speak. It was stellar. The veggie roll with the gobo inside was also amazing. The two avocado-based rolls were good, but nothing to rave home about. I should probably mention that two out of my 8 rolls with avo had hard-ass avocado in them and that was just yuck from me. But on the bright side, the edamame and spicy mayo were great!

Would I order from here again? Absolutely, Would I try to customize my box so it has more sweet potato tempura/veggie rolls and fewer avo rolls? Also yes.

The “Vegan Snob” box sells for $16 dollars. I was pretty full afterward, so it was worth it to me, but I can imagine if that is too expensive for others. To each their own, my vegan snobs!
