Vegan at Seabirds – Cosa Mesa

WE FINALLY TRIED SEABIRDS!!!

For all you LA vegans in the house, you all have definitely heard of Seabirds, right? The place with the vegan churro waffle? Ringing any bells? Well, if you have heard of it, I’m sure (like myself) you have been avoiding the hour and a half trek down to Costa Mesa to try it.

Well, same lol. However, my sister and I happened to be filming a project down in Orange Country and I just had to take the opportunity to finally check this Seabirds place out.

Not only is Seabirds an incredible vegan restaurant (which I will get to later), but it is also located NEXT DOOR to Good Town Donuts, a donut shop with endless vegan options. Like, wow, talk about convenient.

My sis and I finally went to Seabirds and were HELLA impressed. The restaurant is super cute and quaint. The menu is really creative. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Plus, the food is baller. I must admit, it definitely lived up to the hype.

For dinner, my sister and I decided to split a grilled cheese and get our own entrees. She got the stuffed pasta shells and I got the daily bowl, which included rice, beans, kale, cashew cream, sauerkraut, tortilla strips, and other yummies.

First of all, the grilled cheese brought me right back to my childhood. It was crispy and melty and filled with different types of cheeses. Just so, so yummy. Secondly, the bowl was SO good. I don’t know how or why it was so good, but every ingredient in the bowl was so flavorful and fresh. Thirdly, Bella loved her pasta shells. Fourthly, thanks for reading our blog! #lol

To top it all off, they had a mini bakery shelf with multiple vegan pop tarts. Brb, crying tears of joy. Do you know how long it’s been since I had a poptart? A LONG TIME, OK!?

We ended up getting the brown sugar Poptart and, I’m not kidding, it may have been one of the best bakery items I’ve ever had. It was SO GOOD. I am drooling just thinking about it. I want it again and again and again. The brown sugar was crispy and sweet, but the pastry was soft and perfect.

So would I recommend this place? Um yes.
