Vegan at Rule of Thirds – Brooklyn, NYC

So, if y’all don’t know this about my sis and me, we are New York natives. We are born and bred BAYBAY! However, we usually stick to the Manhattan side of things because that’s the area we’re most familiar with and where our friends and family are. Howeverrrrr, one of our best friends just moved to Brooklyn, so we decided to grab dinner in the area with her at this super trendy Asian spot called Rule of Thirds.

Although the restaurant is not fully vegan, they have some really epic, delicious, creative vegan options and we had to share them with you all.

To start, we all got sake-based cocktails, which were really yummy! I forgot the name of mine (#rip), but it had canteloupe in it and was delicious and unlike any cocktail I’ve tried before.

For dinner, we ended up getting the hot honey yuzu salad to start, which I KNOW looks just like a pile of lettuce and rabbit food, but it was actually sooooooo delicious. If you don’t eat honey, don’t come for me, but the dressing was so unique and flavorful and the greens were really crisp and satisfying. It’s enough to share with a table, so I definitely recommend getting it and sharing it.

We also got the vegan option of the yaki onigiri and it was AMAZING. The sides of the onigiri were fried to perfection. Each bite was a flavor and textural experience. Definitely recommend.

Lastly, we got the silken house tofu (not pictured), but it was soooo creamy and cold and delicious. The sauce was also excellent. If you love tofu, you will love this dish.

Then, because I always need to finish my savory meal with a lil something sweet, we got the sesame soy milk soft serve which was SUPREME. Nutty, creamy, refreshing, smooth – everything soft serve should be. I’m craving it right now as I write this blog.

If I’m ever in Brooklyn again, I will 10/10 return and get this exact order. Ok, that’s all, bye!!
