Because my sister and I had to quarantine for a week in Manhattan before seeing our grandparents in Connecticut, we decided to make the most of it and order food from places we have never tried before! I decided to order Bondi sushi because it’s an Australian inspired sushi place named after Bondi Beach (and yall know i love Australia because I studied abroad in Melbourne #studyabroad #BarTHElona) and also beacuse I kept seeing it all over Instagram!

Bondi Sushi is a cute little sushi place that serves their sushi in the most Instagrammable bento boxes. It’s not all vegan (duh, it’s a sushi place) but they do have a vegan box that has truffle avocado rolls, cucumber rolls, mushroom rolls, and eggplant rolls.  I also got a side of edamame and seaweed salad.

I’m not gonna lie. I really didn’t love it. The rolls were pretty tasteless, mushy, and kinda warm in a non-appetizing way. The edamame was fine and the seaweed salad was not that great. I’ve realized that most of these new Instagram-worthy bento box sushi places are always mediocre. Maybe next time just stick to Nobu instead. I appreciate them having options of course, but I probably won’t order from here again.
