Plant Food and Wine – Venice, CA

Hey guys! Off the bat, I don’t have much to say about this place. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great. Frankly, it was extremely bland and unmemorable.

BUT the staff was incredibly kind and the atmosphere was very zen and romantic for a date night, which is why I was there. I was on a date!

They don’t have a lot of options on their menu but everything is vegan and extremely healthy.

My date got the almond udon and I got the gnocchi with lemon butter. We also got this off-the-menu bread that came with butter and jam. I got a hard kombucha to drink and we ended the night with dessert.

Okay, I tried his almond udon and it was tasty, warm, and hearty but again… UNMEMORABLE. My gnocchi was unmemorable too. I literally can’t even describe it because I don’t remember what it tastes like BUT the broccolini and the greens that came with it were 10/10, so I enjoyed that a lot. The waiters and waitresses raved about this bread and it was GOOD (esp with butter and jam together) but not mind-blowing. The hard kombocha was also good but came in a can and wasn’t super special. Also it was so dark out there, that I literally took photos of the gnocchi and dessert and they came out pitch black so um…. sorry you only get these two photos lmao.

For dessert, we got a chocolate caramel crunch ice cream thing that was literally not good at all. It came with brownie brittle that literally looked like and tasted like char from a grill. I had to ask my date what it was because I was convinced it was decoration and not actually edible.

My date, who was not vegan, thought the food was 7/10 but this was his first time trying vegan food so I imagine his expectations were low. In my opinion, the food was 5/10. Wouldn’t come back!!!
