Divine Dips Vegan Ice Cream Review

EVERYONE! LISTEN UP! I FOUND SOME DANK VEGAN ICE CREAM AND I’M HERE FOR IT!

Seriously though, my sister, friend Will, and I ventured to downtown LA last night to try the much-raved about vegan ice cream shop Divine Dips. Not only is this a vegan ice cream shop, but it’s also a premium vegan ice cream shop filled with the most unique flavors such as almond amaretto, Thai tea, pink dragon, cheesecake, smores, etc.

Usually, when you go somewhere with vegan ice cream, the flavors are pretty basic like mango sorbet or vanilla. Divine Dips takes the flavor to a whole new level and, in the wise words of legend Guy Fierri,  takes vegan ice cream to “Flavor Town.”

The shop is black-owned and currently not doing financially well, so it’s important, as vegans, to go out of your way to support these small businesses that are doing their best to show the world how inventive and delicious plant-based foods can be. In addition, the owner of the restaurants is so lovely and funny and cares so much about the buisness that her passion is infectious.

Will, Bella, and I literally FELL IN LOVE with the first flavor we tried: NYC Cheesecake. It literally tasted like cheesecake and not ice cream. It was crazy. My non-vegan friend Will literally said “Wow, that was unreal. I really fuck with that” so there you have it! Will fucks with it! Bella also said it tasted “not just like simple ice cream, but a decadent dessert.” I agree with both statements wholeheartedly.

In addition to getting a scoop of the NYC cheesecake flavor, Bella and I also got a scoop of the almond amaretto flavor (which tasted like marzipan, our fave) in a bowl with a cone sticking out the top, which the owner calls, “unicorn style.” How adorable?

So if you like ice cream, whether you are plant-based or not, definitely check this place out and support the business.
