Vegan Whipped Coffee Recipe

How trendy am I? I’m doing Tik Tok challenges like every middle schooler in America! Jokes aside, yes, it’s true. My twin and I have been grinding on that Tik Tok trend and just got a Tik Tok @cohen_twins (shameless plug). Give us a follow! 

Anyway, if you are on Tik Tok, you have definitely heard of dalgona coffee or more popularly known as whipped coffee. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s basically a trend where people are electrically or hand-whipping their coffee to create this thick coffee mouse that you can put over milk to drink.

To most people’s surprise, it’s actually quite simple to make and completely vegan. You only need three ingredients: instant coffee, boiling water, and sugar. 

To make the foam, you just add two tablespoons of each ingredient into a bowl and hand whisk (or electric whisk if you’re boujee) until you form a meringue-like foam that forms stiff peaks when you pull out the whisk. 

I did mine by hand for the extra arm workout. That was a joke. I wish I had an electric whisk smh. It took me around 30 minutes of whisking. I heard it takes about 5 minutes with an electric whisk, but I wouldn’t know, I’m not boujee!!

When the foam has been formed, place it over a tall glass of plant-based milk, iced or hot, and there you have it! Vegan whipped coffee! 

My verdict: it’s tasty but VERY strong and sweet. I recommend putting it over a tall glass of plant-based milk (I don’t think I had enough milk) to dilute the strength of the concentrated foam. Otherwise, it’s very fun and trendy to make and drink!
