Vegan Korean Corndog Recipe Review

GUYS. If you know anything about trendy foods or are a mukbang/ASMR fiend like I am, then you KNOW the hype surrounding Korean corndogs. They are essentially these giant mozzarella stick/corndog hybrids rolled in sugar. They taste like donuts/corndogs/heaven?????? And they have the most amazing crunch.

They aren’t traditionally vegan. In fact, it’s extremely hard to find a place that sells a vegan version of them. The only time I tried one before was at a vegan place called Beleaf Burger, like an hour and a half away. SO I decided to do some digging and find a recipe so I could make them on my own. Taking my destiny into my own hands!

My sister found a recipe from a  TikToker @chefsummerstorm, who is always inventing delicious (but also really easy!) vegan recipes. Here is the link to the vegan Korean corndog recipe she made!!!!! HIGHLY recommend making this. It’s incredibly easy and 10/10 DELICIOUS. I mean just LOOK at that photo.

I kid you not, this was one of the most DELICIOUS, DECADENT things I have ever made/tried in my life. The dough was outstanding, the sugar on top was a treat, and I surprisingly preferred the hot dog in the middle over the cheese. To be fair, the cheese didn’t melt correctly because we winged a couple steps and our oil was a little too hot. We also put too much cheese so there’s that. But the savory hot dog perfectly paired well with the sweet dough. Wow, I’m drooling thinking about it.

If I were to make it again, I would probably just do hot dogs BUT if you are a master fryer, then deff try the vegan cheese. At the right temperature, I’m sure the cheese would have melted without overcooking the dough.

But WOWOWOOWOWOWOWO 10/10 recommend. Go make these now! Also, if you’re an idiot like me, just know that oil doesn’t bubble up like water when it’s ready. It only bubbles up when you put something in it. The more you know, folks!
