Veestro: Plant-Based Meal Delivery Service Review

Hey everyone! In the wise words of Kylie Jenner, “Rise and Shiiinnneee.” Your girl is back with another review and this time it’s not a restaurant or a product, but rather a mix of both: a meal delivery service.

For those of you hooligans who don’t know what Veestro is, Veestro is a completely plant-based (aka vegan) meal delivery service that sends you precooked/preprepared frozen meals that are ready to eat after being microwaved or baked in the oven. Easy as pie! (Is that the phrase? I don’t even know lol).

On a serious note, as someone recovering from disordered eating, my therapist thought it would be a good idea for me to not stress about what I was eating for dinner and rather eat preprepared meals that I knew were healthy for me and wouldn’t have to think twice about ( AND would allow me not to obsess over the calorie count).

There were a few vegan meal delivery services I was bouncing between, but I ended up going with Veestro. To try it out, I started with just getting 10 frozen meals (which I specifically picked from a variety of meals on their website) delivered to me. Each meal came out to be around $13 dollars. That is probably expensive for some people out there, which I understand, but I was ok with the price. I’m also pretty bougie when it comes to food so that probs has something to do with it.

Some of the meals I got were: the quesadilla, the pizza, shepherd’s pie, veggie lasagna, Asian noodle salad, Latin stew, soba noodles, and a few others. They arrived in a box filled with special packaging that would allow them to stay frozen for 24 hours before you had to put them in the freezer.

Here are a few photos of how the box arrived and some of the items I got:

My review: I really appreciate the service for existing and providing accessibility regarding vegan food for those who can’t or don’t know how to cook. HOWEVER, none of the food blew me away.  Everything I’ve had so far has been good/tasty, but it’s definitely nothing to write home about.

I also microwaved everything out of laziness and the meals might have been better/less soggy if I had baked them in the oven like a patient and proper adult.

That aside, I probably would order again out of convenience though.
