Nick’s Vegan Ice Cream Review

Is anyone as obsessed with vegan Halo Top ice cream as I am? On that note, is anyone also ALWAYS mad because the vegan flavors always seem to be harder to find than my virginity after I lost it?

Well, to all you frazzled Halo Top lovers, I have a plan B to offer you: Nick’s ice cream. Nick’s is a new ice cream brand that has an entire line of vegan ice creams that are similar to Halo Top in the way that they are super low in calories, but super yummy.

I was hella craving ice cream and wanted to give it a try, so I ordered a bunch of flavors on their website: double chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnut fudge, peanut butter fudge, strawberry, and mint chocolate chip. They were pretty expensive (around $60 in total) but I’m an utter ho for trying new vegan products, so I bit the bullet and ordered them. Right now, you can only order online BUT they do arrive ice cold due to the dry ice it’s packaged with, so no need to worry about receiving ice cream soup in the mail.

Before I get into the review of the taste, I do want to mention that these vegan ice creams do contain a dairy protein (or rather a protein that mimics dairy proteins), which I was a little shocked to find out at first. However, the “dairy” protein was made in a lab and is without lactose, so the ice cream won’t make vegans sick and it’s still technically 100% cruelty-free. If this freaks you out – it freaked me out at first – this may not be the ice cream for you. However, for me, I realized that the protein is not derived from an animal and doesn’t make me feel sick, so I’m ok with it.

My review: they are sooooooooo yummy and creamy!!!! I absolutely love ALL the flavors. They were all super flavorful and tasted just like regular ice cream to me. I specifically recommend the hazelnut fudge and mint chip. Those were my faves.

So would I get Halo top over this? Yes, only because of the price and availability. Wait, who am I kidding? Vegan halo top is never available LOL. Maybe Nick’s for the win?
