Los Angeles Vegan Fashion Week

With faux fur and leather both becoming trendy in fashion globally, it was about time there was a vegan fashion week!

The event ran all weekend and even included a vegan runway show if you paid extra as a VIP (We did, but it was super rainy all weekend and the event was all the way downtown so we only went for one day, but I’m pretty sure we saw everything we needed to)

Imma be honest (unless you want me to lie to you?) The event was new (first time events always have kinks).  SO it was a little janky and kinda wierd, but there were some highlights! Basically it was a giant warehouse all the way in downtown Los Angeles filled with vegan fashion stands and some food stands. However, none of the fashion brands were name brands or recognizable, except for Vegan Club who we’ve worked with before.

The highlights of the event were the free donut holes, kombucha, coffee, chocolate chip cookies, macarons, vegan foi gras, the demin jacket I bought from Vegan Club, and the customizable moisturizer at Rose and Abbot we got to make.

Downsides were that the event was all the way in downtown LA, it was raining (not the event’s fault but still), the warehouse had terrible lighting so no bueno for photos, some stands had nobody working at them, and an online purchase I made at the event later that week got canceled through an email from the retailer saying she wasn’t sure if it was vegan…. whut? We also got a goody bag that had some cool stuff, but the bag it came in was so thin that it ripped in like two seconds lol

Yeah. Would i go back again? Not in a million years. But it was awesome to be in a place surrounded by veganism and never having to second guess if you could buy something or not (except for that sketchy store that I bought something at and it ended up not being vegan??? da fuq)
