VEGAN AT LOEWS PORTOFINO BAY HOTEL- ORLANDO, FL

HEY GUYS! Long time no blog. We just got back from a family vacay at Disney/Universal Studios  (LOVE THOSE PLACES SO MUCH). Well, we stayed at the Portifino Hotel (it’s like a tradition). When we were there back in February for our bday, the chef had made us a vegan menu which was super cool. But this time when we asked for the vegan menu again, they were SO confused and had no idea what we were talking about. Like, did i hallucinate the vegan menu back in February? I don’t think so.

So anyways, it was really complicated and the people at the hotel were kind of being really unhelpful, so we decided to just call room service to see what we could get worked out. The lady who answered the room service number then handed us over to the operator, who then put us on hold for like 15 minutes, and then the chef picked up. SOOOOO long story short, he ended up feeling bad i guess about not having the vegan menu and was literally like, “You can order whatever you want and we’ll make it for you.” And we were like…seriously!?

SO, you know how in life, the vegetarian option is always better? Well, that proved to be SO true this time. Although the whole vegan room service ordeal was pretty complicated in the beginning , in the end, we basically got our own personal chef for like four days. We could order WHATEVER we wanted.  It was pretty chill, not gonna lie. All we had to do was call the room service lady and she would hand us right over to the chef, and then we just ordered whatever we wanted. The chef was so nice and ended up giving us suggestions for dinner one of the nights. Thanks Chef! #yes #thatveganlifedoe

The first night, the chef made us tofu teriyaki with vegetables.

For breakfast the next morning, we decided to go simple and just order off the room service menu, nothing special. We ordered hash browns (just asked the room service lady to tell the chef we didn’t want any butter on those), Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes, and soy milk. (On the menu it says they have almond milk, but when i asked for it, they said they couldn’t find it….was it playing hide and seek? I don’t understand.) The soy milk was really good though, it had a hint of vanilla. P.S. I took a photo of the cereal with milk but it magically disappeared off my phone. #k #MyIphoneCameraIsADildo

Then the second night we asked for spaghetti with marinara sauce and vegetables with a side of fries which was delicious and  filling!

Then for breakfast the next morning we asked for a tofu mushroom frittata, banana pancakes, and plain pancakes and they were all  so delicious.

So if you ever find yourself at the Portifino, no, there is not a vegan menu, but yes, you can have your own personal chef. And i don’t know about you, but i am okay with that. #YUSS
