VEGAN AT L.A. CHAPTER (IN ACE HOTEL)- DOWNTOWN LA, CA

So my friend and also fellow Trojan Val recommended this restaurant because she stated “the avocado toast is my life” and I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am seriously addicted to avocado toast. I’m surprised I lasted a month without it. But alas, there is hope in college my little vegans!

So Bella, the roommate Mackenna, and I ventured out (It was like 7 mins away from USC) to the Ace Hotel for some delicious grub before our hike (Which never happened because it started raining lol. Like, c’mon LA. The one day you decide to rain it’s the day we decided to go hiking #smh).

Both Bella and I ordered the avocado toast and  the fruit salad. She got fresh squeezed orange juice and I got 1/2 orange, 1/2 grapefruit.

The avocado toast was SO amazing! Literally, I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day. It was very yummy and definitely worth the $10. However, the fruit bowl was also $10 and was literally the size of a free “side of fruit” you would see on a fast food children’s menu. Delicious, but def not worth the price.

So we sat outside which seemed to be a good idea. Besides the fact that it started raining when we were signing our checks , it can get really sunny and when we asked our kinda rude waiter if we could move the umbrella closer to us, he semi-accused us of trying to “steal the sunlight” from the gentleman next to us, who was an old man. Like, hashtag: I feel like a bad person?

So we switched tables and when we were trying to combine the tables, the waiter didn’t even help us. He just watched us struggle and to make things harder, while we were moving the table, he put the drink Mackenna ordered right on the moving table and walked away. Like, what is wrong with you!? It was like he hated us the moment he saw us. Like, sorry I’m ugly? I don’t even know.

So if you can deal with sassy waiters and you are a true, dedicated avocado toast fan, then I def recommend this place. If you can’t, then run. Run for your life.
