Vegan at CAFE GRATITUDE- LOS ANGELES, CA

So today, my sister and I met up with our friend and fellow Trojan, Heather, at Cafe Gratitude for some good eats. Cafe Gratitude is one of the best vegan places in Los Angeles because their food is so healthy and fresh (prince of Bel Air) and all the names on the menu are so creative. I do have to mention that there are so many options, to the point where it’s kinda (really) stressful to choose, but almost everything is really good. So have no fear. Just relax, take a breath, and enjoy the journey that Cafe Gratitude has to offer.

I got the “Community” which was a spinach/artichoke dip for the appetizer (a mix of bread and gluten free crackers on the side) and the “Bountiful” for the entree which was quinoa pasta. This was super filling (when they say Bountiful…they totally mean it) and really delicious (enough to take the rest to go).

Olie got the “Generous” for the appetzier which was a summer squash quesadilla and the “Local” for her entree which was an asian chopped salad.

She loved them both. (I feel like this is a tag line for a soap opera about a girl who can’t choose between two men)

Our super cool friend Heather got the “vivacious” for her appetizer which was kale chips and the “Mucho” which was a Mexican bowl. She super liked them both. It was her first time coming here and her first time trying kale chips. Wahoo! #Yolo

(P.S. That is her portable phone charger in the background, not that machine used in Ghostbusters to capture all the evil ghosts…although that would be cool)

For drinks, Olie and I got the “Vibrant” iced, which is basically a matcha green tea latte. Olie really liked hers, but i thought it was okay. Also, if you’re a strict vegan, you might want to ask for it without the honey, and substitute it for agave. I know…they have honey.  And we asked if it was real honey, the waiter was like “yep. 100% real honey” and he sounded really proud. I’m not kidding. He sounded like a father talking about his son getting into Princeton. Like I’m sorry, last time i checked, honey came from a living creature.  I know honey is debatable in the vegan world but i’ve never seen honey this proudly flaunted at an all vegan place before. Like what?! So confusing. #confused

Anyways, check out this place for some good eats, relax chill vibes, and the cool inspirational question of the day: What inspires you?

My answer: You.
