Vegan in Magnetic Island, Queensland

UM. I’m not a big hiker/nature girl so Magnetic Island was not my fave place but if that’s your thing than DEFF go. The only reason my friend and I went there was to stay in this hostel called Bungalow Bay where they let you hold snakes and KOALAS. So we were like… we’re IN!!!

For the record, koalas are EVEN CUTER than you think they will be. They are cuddly innocent stuffed animals that deserve all the love in the world.

There isn’t lots of vegan food in Magnetic Island, but here is what I ate.

  1. Noodies on the Beach

Yes. You do have to get naked (noodie) to eat here. LOL jk that would be illegal. Anyway, this place is a Mexican restaurant that has some vegetarian options that can be modified. I got the vegetarian quesadilla modified to be vegan. It wasn’t the best quesadilla I’ve ever had in my life BUT it was satisfying.

I also got a mango cocktail slushie thing that was low-key AMAZING??????????? Like I wish I had a pitcher of it right now. I would chug that thing like there was no tomorrow. (LOL have I peaked?) Also apparently if you order a pitcher, you get a free sombrero!!! (The fact that I’m excited about a free sombrero means I DEFINITELY peaked)

2. Cafe Nourish

So this is one of those places that like advertises itself as healthy but puts ice cream in their smoothies? Ya feel? Anyway, I had to modify some stuff but I got the soy chai, an acai bowl without bananas (cuz bananas can go fuck themselves), and a kiwi-apple- something juice, I can’t remember.

The soy chai was really heartwarming and yummy AND had cinnamon sugar on top, the acai low-key sucked lol but probably because I took out the bananas, and the juice was good but odd but good? IDK.

That’s all I got for you folks! Come for the Koalas and DAS IT.
