Vegan in Cairns, Queensland

I’m pretty sure the only reason you’d come to Queensland is to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, cuz who wouldn’t want to do that?????? #bucketlist

Cairns is not the most exciting place in the world but snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef was MEGA COOL. Like I would highly recommend it. It felt like I was swimming in a giant aquarium. Also the crew on the boat that took us out had so many hot guys (one of the guys legit looked like a mix of Nyle Dimarco and George Clooney).

However, I did see a massive ass barracuda, pirañas, AND a jellyfish which freaked me the fuck out, BUT other than that, it was so cool!!!!

My friend and I only ate at two places that weren’t that amazing but this is what I got?

  1. Tokyo Dumpling

I got panfried veggie dumplings and vegan modified ramen noodles. It was all delicious but I low-key felt SO greasy after. Also, they accidentally gave me fried rice with eggs at first and I was like “YO…. I didn’t order this????” and they were so sassy about it. like BYE.

2. Poemphun Thai

I ordered a papaya peanut salad that was SO FUCKING SPICY I COULD NOT EAT ANY OF IT. Like BEWARE. My throat was on fire.

I also got a veggie tofu curry that was really yummy but again SO FUCKING SPICY.

The coconut rice was the best thing there! SO SO SO yummy.

Would I recommend these two places? NOT REALLY. I think there are better vegan places in Cairns, one place has vegan waffles I think? IDK these places were so fucking random and if you are in Cairns and need vegan suggestions, this blog post probably isn’t v helpful. SORRY. Every man for themselves.
