Vegan at Smorgasburg LA

Smorgasbord + Williamsburg = Smorgasburg (duh…)

For those of you unfamiliar with the hybrid term, Smorgasburg is a food festival that started in the hot, sweaty summers of NYC, right in the heart of Brooky-Brooklyn. However, because us Angelinos are spoiled as f*ck, Smorgasburg has skittered its way all the way to Los Angeles!

Because it is summer all-year-round in LA (like I said, spoiled), Smorgasburg runs all-year-round on every Sunday of the week! (Again, we are spoiled little brats and we know it)

Anyway, the festival (both in NY and LA) usually has countless vegan options (like almost every stand has at least one vegan option). I’m going to list some below at the LA festival, in case you find yourself checking it out in the future.

  1. Amazebowls (Vegan acai bowls)
  2. Brothecary (Vegan dumplings)
  3. Donut Friend (All vegan donuts)
  4. Cena Vegan (Vegan tacos w/ vegan meats)
  5. Goa Taco (I believe they have a vegan taco option?)
  6. Lade Slush (Bomb vegan slushies)
  7. Mama Masubi (Rice balls- vegan options avail)
  8. Plant Burger (Beyond Burger burgers lol)
  9. PopD Up (Tea lattes and spritzers)
  10. Workaholic (Overpriced veggie dumplings… I’m talkin 8 dollars a piece #bye)
  11. The Ricans Food (Vegan Puerto Rican food options)

I took a bunch of photos of the vegan stands that I passed, but I thought it would just be better to list them so you can take a look at them/their menus yourselves, instead of looking at my janky photos. We did end up getting a few things though, which I will post pics of below.

We got two vegan donuts from Donut Friend (The very berry and the unpictured cookie butter sandwich) as a thank you to our friend for inviting us to the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere. Love ya Max!

We also got veggie dumplings from Brothecary which Bella said were, “fine”. 5/10??

Bella also got a green mint tea based slushie with mango syrup from Lade Slush which she loved!! I sampled the base and it was literally so amazing. Sweet, but also so subtle and refreshing, so I def recommend.

Last but not least, my friend Ali and I got blackberry-charcoal spritzers in mason jars from Popd Up and I absolutely loved it! It was such a unique and refreshing drink and I’m literally craving as we speak! Plus, you can reuse the mason jar and be all hipstery and whatever!

So if you and your friends have nothing to do on a weekend and have the munchies, def check it out! Plus, it’s in DTLA so if you live around there, even better!
