Vegan at Pokeworks- NYC

Pokeworks…gotta catch ‘em all!

No but honestly, when I heard there was a new place in town with SUSHIRITTOS, I almost cried. I was like “Sissy, peep this, we have to goooo!!”

So Bella, our friend Susan, and I ventured to Pokeworks to try the totally new and raved about sushi burritos.

Basic review: I cried…for more than two reasons. Let me explain. The line was 45 minutes long and not only was the store incredibly small and tight, but the entire store was making every one tear up (aka cry) because of how potent the onions on the toppings bar were. Like, not kidding, we bonded with other people in line over the fact that we were all tearing up #notcool

Also the workers were moving as slow as the sloths in Zootopia. I know that they’re new and still trying to figure out their grove but #notcool

We got the make-own-own poke burrito. You have to specify that you’re vegetarian because then they give you the rice without seasoning (which has something non-vegetarian in it? Lol, Still a mystery).

Then we topped it with mango, kale (they barely give you any #salty), seaweed salad, crispy rice puffs, lettuce, and sweet chili gochu sauce. It was good, not fantastic. Not exactly worth the wait and the stinging of my eyes, but if that’s your thang, than all’s fair in love and war, and sushiritos, am I right?

Try it if you may! Was I totally regretful? No. Will I go back, nah.
