VEGAN AT CAFE CLOVER- WEST VILLAGE, NYC

So, Bella and I thought it would be fun to meet up with our half-sister Jessie who we hadn’t seen in forevs so we thought we’d have a “Sex in the City” type outing and have brunch at Cafe Clover in the West Village. Now, I know what yall are expecting it to be: some irish pub where the bartenders/waiters are dressed as leprechauns and there are cheesy Party City St. Patrick’s day decorations all over the walls. No? Was that just me? Okay, nevermind.

Anyway, it is far from that. It’s this little classy restaurant right near another nice Mexican place El Toro Blanco. It’s adorable and even though it’s a bit on the expensive side, definitely worth it if you are meeting up with people.

The staff was pretty accommodating and was happy to answer any questions we had about the menu (That’s what I expect bitches. I have what’s called “high standards” ladies and gentleman. Yes, gentleman, I have high standards for you too. Don’t think you’re excluded #downwiththepatriarchy)

Side note: we asked if the avocado toast was vegan and the waiter said they weren’t sure if the bread was so… if we were serious about being vegan (Uh…duh) then to stay away from it (uh…duh).

However, all the salads were/could be made vegan and even had a choice to add tofu as a protein which is rare at most restaurants so yay for Cafe Clover!!!

Anyway, Bella and I and my older sis Jessie all got the Grain Bowl (because we’re sisters and we all like the same shit) which was a salad with peas, asparagus, tofu, and freekeh (which we asked what the hell that was. It’s just a grain no worries. Thought it was some ritualistic term to hex people) with lemon vinagrette. It was pretty good! Light, satisfying, and healthy!

Anyway, it was great to catch up with our big sis. Good food, good company, good nyc vibes. You can’t go wrong.
