What inspired you to go vegan?

B: I wouldn’t say anything in particular. Vegetarianism was always something I was interested in for my health and partly the animals which I then took up for about 18 months before educating myself on the realities of dairy and eggs and realizing how unhealthy they were as well.

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

B: Most of my favourite vegan restaurants I’ve found are overseas in NYC; Champs Diner, Johns of 12th (Best Italian food of my life!), byChloe, and more locally Smith and Daughters and The Glass Den in Melbourne and Gigi in Sydney.

What are your favorite vegan dishes to make?
B: Carbs carbs and more carbs! Haha

I love to experiment with food that is traditionally very meaty and/or filled with dairy just to prove how easy it is to be vegan. I love pasta dishes cause they are so easy, I’m obsessed with anything BBQ jackfruit and I’m really into Dahl at the moment.
What are common misconceptions about being vegan?
B: That it’s hard or restrictive. I find it so funny when people say to me that they wouldn’t know what to eat, which is sort of understandable because I thought that when going vegan but you just need to think outside the box a bit and it forces you to be more creative!

To be honest I find nothing less inspiring than the common “meat and two veg” diet that most people live by. How boring and restrictive! 😉
What do you find is the worst part about being vegan?
B: Telling people. I try to avoid it as long as possible because I feel a lot of the time that’s how I’m defined and whilst I’m really passionate about Veganism, there’s so much more to me.
What is the best part about being vegan?
B: Knowing that no animals had to suffer for what’s on my plate and also being challenged to create new things. Also the lack of heart disease hehe
What advice to you have for people who want to become vegan?

B:  Don’t look to anyone else for HOW you should be vegan. There’s too many labels out there right now like rt4, hclf etc.

I can totally understand the pressures of social media to put yourself under a certain umbrella but as long as the food you’re consuming doesn’t contain meat, eggs or dairy, you’re sweet!
And don’t be afraid to eat more than you’re used to, plants a lot less calorie dense than animal based foods therefore you’re body will crave more and that’s totally normal!
How has your life changed since you’ve become vegan?
B: I think once you become vegan it’s hard to ignore all the other shit that’s going on in the world as well, so it’s really opened my mind to everything that’s kinda fucked up in the world.
What are the top 3 reasons to go vegan?

B: Health, animals, earth.

What are your favorite vegan blogs/instagram/youtube channels?
B: Minimalistbaker, hotforfood, jessy.wallace, vegangirlfriend would have to be my top few 🙂
Do you have a blog, instagram, or youtube channel?

B: Yes! www.heartofbianca.com, and my YouTube and Instagram are both @heartofbianca
