Vegan and Ethical Silk Brand – Ethical Kind

Disclaimer: I apologize in advance if this post is controversial. I know any product that comes from an animal is technically not vegan, especially since the animal cannot consent to give us their lives or their byproducts. However, I was given this as a gift and will be keeping it/using it, so read at your own risk (and please don’t hate me!! I’m a fragile gal!)

So my boss recently got me the cutest holiday gift this year – a silk pillowcase and a luxurious silk eye mask from an ethical silk company called Ethical Kind. I usually don’t buy or wear silk on my own; however, this silk company seems to really prioritize the life of the silkworms above all else and that really stood out to me. The card in the box literally specifies that they are able to collect the silk without sacrificing animal life. More details on their process below:

The company also donates to children’s education and really...

Legend Bracelets

Thank you so much to Legend Bracelets for sending us their amazing bracelets. What I love about this company is that their entire mission is to save the environment and save animals, while also creating jewelry that has meaning.

They sent us their “Save the sea turtle” bracelet which has two capsules. One is filled with a piece of fishing net that they recycled in order to save the turtles. And the other capsule is empty so you can fill it with something meaningful.

The other bracelet they sent is their “Save the coral reef” bracelet which plants a coral reef for every five bracelets sold. In one capsule is sand from the area the coral will be planted, and the other is empty to fill with it something meaningful.

This is a great organization to support and, since the holidays are coming up, these bracelets would be an amazing gift for anybody who is very passionate about...

The Pink Pigs: The Cutest Vegan Apparel EVER

When I told you I cried from how cute the merch from The Pink Pigs was, I’m not lying. LOOK AT IT!!! It says “Donut eat me.” It doesn’t get more adorable than that, I mean….

Just to give you a little background info on The Pink Pigs, the Pink Pigs is an online store partnered with Rooterville Animal Sanctuary, which is a vegan farm that takes in abused, neglected, or overgrown farm animals. For those of you who don’t know my life history, my family back in Connecticut had a pig when I was in high school. Yes, a literal pig, and his name was Romeo. He was supposed to be “teacup” size but grew to be, like, a million pounds. He also used to try to ram into me and murder me. Fond times…

Anywho, once he got too big, we decided it wasn’t fair to keep him in the suburbs and sent him to Rooterville where they have been taking AMAZING care of him since. He even has a piggy girlfriend...

Best Vegan T-Shirts EVER

How many of you vegans out there just want decently cute vegan swag but literally can’t seem to find any? Well… #same.

Most vegan apparel is unfortunatly cheap, uncomfortable, and not very creative. No shade to the vegan community. I know they’re trying their best, but, like, step it up, perhaps?? The only reason why I think the vegan apparel community needs to step it up is because vegan apparel is literally a walking-breathing advertisement for veganism.

If someone sees you out and about with thick hair, glowy skin, a toned body, a beautiful aura, AND a vegan t-shirt, it could inspire them to try veganism!

*For clarification, when I say “vegan apparel” in this post, I’m referring to apparel with vegan logos on it, not vegan apparel such as fur/leather alternatives. Those are important too, though!!

Have no fear, people! All hope is not lost!...

Angela Roi Purse

Guys I have been on the hunt for the perfect vegan purse, which, if you’re vegan, you know is incredibly hard to find. I appreciate the effort vegans, but vegan fashion is…. something else. They can never quite get it right. BUT I found out about this company called Angela Roi which makes ALL VEGAN purses that are chic and simple and, quite frankly, look designer if you ask me #frankly.

I got the “mini Cher tote” in black and I absolutely love it. It’s not too big. Not too small. And fits everything from my wallet to my keys to my blogging camera to my new glasses to my rose water to my headphones, etc. It’s just all around perfect and such good quality. It was pricey (around $220) BUT, if you’re anything like me, you will probably use one purse for a very long time. SO definitely worth the dollar signs!

The Plant Nation + 10% Discount Code

Y’all know the “Anti Social Social Club” sweatshirts that all the alternative rich kids are wearing these days, right? Well, The Plant Nation just took that concept and ~veganized~ it. LOOK how cute these ‘Anti Animal Cruelty Club’ sweatshirts are!? The Plant Nation sells a ton of vegan merchandise including the cutest sweatshirts, t-shirt, etc. and we partnered with them to give you guys a 10% discount code if you use the code ‘westcoasttwins’ at checkout!!! What are you waiting for!? Retail therapy time!!

Los Angeles Vegan Fashion Week

With faux fur and leather both becoming trendy in fashion globally, it was about time there was a vegan fashion week!

The event ran all weekend and even included a vegan runway show if you paid extra as a VIP (We did, but it was super rainy all weekend and the event was all the way downtown so we only went for one day, but I’m pretty sure we saw everything we needed to)

Imma be honest (unless you want me to lie to you?) The event was new (first time events always have kinks).  SO it was a little janky and kinda wierd, but there were some highlights! Basically it was a giant warehouse all the way in downtown Los Angeles filled with vegan fashion stands and some food stands. However, none of the fashion brands were name brands or recognizable, except for Vegan Club who we’ve worked with before.

The highlights of the event were the free donut holes, kombucha, coffee, chocolate chip cookies,...

Vegan Sweatshirts with 10% Discount!

Hey guys!!! We have become Vegetaryn Ambassadors! She sells such amazing cute vegan clothes and even teams up with vegan bloggers to create and design some of them! Well, now that we are ambassadors (i KNOW so legit hehe!), we have a 10% discount code if you use this link below and use the code “VEGANLIFEDOE” at checkout!

http://www.vegetaryn.com?rfsn=1808261.588f5a

Guys, im not just saying this as an ambassador (or am I? just kidding lol), these sweatshirts are COMFY AF and so fricken adorable. Every time we wore them, so many people would talk to us and start conversations about veganism and it was so nice being able to connect with other vegans!

Go buy a sweatshirt if you want to be a trendy af vegan!!!!

Vegan Designer Shoes

Yes, it is possible to be vegan and bougie!!

I know all the non-believers in the crowd are shouting, “All designer shoes are leather or fur! STFU!” Well babes, that just isn’t true. You just gotta get you a shoe that can do both.

Disclaimer: The term “vegan shoes” is really subjective according to what you believe is vegan. I wear converse sneakers as opposed to Adidas because they are made with canvas/rubber as opposed to leather; however, many people don’t think converse are vegan because of the non-vegan glue the shoe is made with.

If you are that strict with what you consider vegan (which is great!!) then I cannot say for certain whether the following designer shoes are indeed vegan. I do, however, know for certain that they are not made with leather or fur.

The first two stylish pairs of vegan designer shoes I got come from the LEGENDARY...

Wilby Vegan Bags

GUYS, finding a cute/functional/highquality/reasonably priced vegan bag is SO HARD. Like anybody who is vegan knows that. BUT…. I found a company that does all of that and more. Wilby makes all vegan bags and accessories that are not only vegan, but also sustainable. They are a UK company and their bags are incredible in every aspect of the word. I cannot recommend this brand enough. Like their vegan bags are ACTUALLY cute. Like even non-vegans would buy these bags.

Check them out : https://www.wilbyclutch.com

Vegan Faux Fur Jacket from Jakke

Guys! I’m trendy! IKR? Crazy!

So anyway, Christmas/Hannukah/ whatever you celebrate is coming up and guess what? You, as a vegan, are starting to write up a wish list but all your relatives are confused and don’t know what to buy you and are like “What’s vegan? Can you wear leather? What about silk? Is hummus vegan?” So you’ll probably end up getting some vegan cookbooks for Christmas that you’ll never use.

Well, if you want to spice up your life this Christmas, why not ask for a trendy, comfy, warm, FUR-FREE vegan jacket from Jakke! Sure the jackets, are a bit expensive but that’s why you ask for one for Christmas!

Here is the link: https://jakke.co.uk

No this is not sponsored lol. I just think they’re cute and fun and bold. Plus, a lot of them are selling out so you know they have to be somewhat trendy!

Vegan Crop Tops

Guys, I found the cutest vegan crop tops by the Vegan Supply Co. and I’m obsessed!

As much as I love veganism, it is actually really hard to find cute clothes supporting the vegan diet that I would actually wear in public… as most of them are unfortunately only cute enough to wear to bed. No offense of course! I love pajamas! (K now I’m just diggin myself into a hole lol)

Anyway, if you want a cute vegan crop, check out Vegan Supply Co.

The one I’m wearing in the pic says “Vegan Vibes” but I also bought a white one that says “Vegan Babe” and they’re both cute and oh so comfy!

Vegan Club Clothing

Thank you to The Vegan Club for sending us some AWESOME, badass vegan t-shirts featuring Ruby Rose and River Phoenix! If you guys didn’t know, River Phoenix was actually the guy who inspired my sister and I to go vegan! I mean, he didn’t personally inspire us, he died in 1993, but a quote he said did!

This brand is all vegan and sells clothing, posters, art, etc all in the name of veganism! If you’ve seen posters around Los Angeles that say “Vegan Club”, it’s this guy! He’s a pop artist on a journey to share veganism with the world! Go check his website and instagram VeganClubCo or iamlefou!!

Vegan Booty Shorts

BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY ROCKIN EVERYWHERE.

Yes, we know. Having a big ole booty is the latest trend these days. And trust me, your girl here got a booty.

But you know what, if people are gonna be staring at my ass all day, I might as well spread the vegan message.

Get yourself a pair of amazingly cute and comfortable booty shorts from iApparel if you want to spread the vegan message in a fun and untraditional way!

Show off that booty and let the word know… you’re perfect booty is not just any booty. It’s a vegan booty!

Anyway, I know those furry keychains that the Kardashians have on all their purses are super in now (I have one by Brandy Melville that is faux and $10 btw if you still want a vegan alternative), butttt if you want to start a NEW trend you can start wearing faux suede tassels!

Cute, trendy, and ethical! Let’s start the trend guys!!

Guest Post from Yin2MyYang by Sophie and Charlotte

Well, here’s some good news people: our good friends Sophie and Charlotte who run an AWESOME fashion blog called Yin2MyYang decided to team up with ThatVeganLifeDoe and make a post about vegan fashion. You can find it on their blog or down below.

EVERYBODY GO CHECK OUT THEIR BLOG and follow their Instagram. It’s amazing. I’ve legit scrolled on their website for hours because it’s so good. They should honestly start a clothing line. Maybe it’s best they don’t tho because I’d deff blow all my money on it #RetailTherapy #gimmmme

Vegan Sandal and Sneaker Options

GUYS. Shopping for vegan shoes is THE ACTUAL STRUGGLE (first world of course). BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT I recently got vvvvvvv into slides and found 3 trendy vegan pairs that come from v trendy companies.

1. Puma Fur Slide By Fenty Women’s Sandals (aka Rihanna’s Puma Slides). Made with faux fur. No leather either my friends. A bit pricey, but worth the splurge because they’re comfy AF and give you an excuse to wear slippers out of the house. (Also, Rihanna is Queen. Don’t doubt her excellence)

P.S. These shoes are mega hot right now, so they might be sold out! But keep checking Puma’s website.

2. Adidas Women’s Training Adilette Ultra Slides. No leather. Super comfy. So trendy. And only 24 dollars. What are you waiting for?

3. Arizona White Birko-Flor Birkenstocks. Made with no leather straps. A bit pricey but SO DAMN cute. Love my Birks....

Vegan Shoes in Marbella, Spain

HEY GUYS. One of the worst parts about being vegan (and there’s not that many because veganism ROCKS MA SOCKS), is going shopping when you’re on vacay because all the adorable shoes are leather #CryEmoji

SO. I found TWO pairs of stylish shoes (well, stylish in my opinion so who knows lol) that I wanted to share with you if you ever find yourself in Marbella!

Guys, I’m gonna admit, I’m a total dick and don’t remember where exactly we went shopping. I think it was the shopping strip in Puerto Banús?

Anyway, here are the two shoes I found that I love! Check em out! (Both of the names of the places are on the shoes)

Bourgeois Boheme, a vegan shoe company

Hey folks! So, the hardest part about being vegan is definitely finding vegan shoes. And when I say finding vegan shoes, I mean finding vegan shoes that are both comfortable AND cute. As Forrest Gump once said, “My mama always said you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes, where they going, where they been”. SO CHOOSE WISELY BRO.

Well, the sis and I were lucky enough to come across this stylish London based footwear brand called Bourgeois Boheme (idk what it means, but it sounds fancy as fukkkk) that makes vegan shoes for women and men. They are all super trendy and awesome and I highly recommend checking out their website.

Even Pretty Little Liars/Vampire Diaries celeb Torrey Devitto wears their shoes!

We were also lucky enough to interview the founder of the company, Alicia Lai. Not only is she a boss for creating an all vegan shoe company, but she was also generous...

ThatVeganLifeDoe Aprons

So guys, I have about the best besties in the world and here’s proof: one of my best friends, Ali, bought the sis and I THATVEGANLIFEDOE customized aprons for our birthday!!!

So thoughtful, personalized, and sweet. I absolutely love them and will make sure to put these aprons to good use by cooking a million, trillion delicious yummy treats!! (And possibly gaining the freshman 15 all over again??? Perhaps?)

Anyway, if you have any friends who run vegan blogs and eat as much food as we do (lol) this is a good gift idea!! Thanks Ali. You da real MVP.

(Also ps: we’re both sporting the natural look in dis photo, no makeup and Pj’s and just the way I likeeee it! #lazysunday #yasss)

Jenny Beavan’s Awesome Vegan Leather Jacket

So if you guys didn’t watch the Oscars (then you live under a rock), then you don’t know that Jenny Beavan’s won an Oscar for costume designer for Mad Max (which if you have not seen, GO SEE IT. Because it’s amazing in every way possible #Furiosa #Goalz).

(FREDERIC J. BROWN/AFP/Getty Images)

Anyways, she wore a BADASS vegan leather jacket with a picture of a Mad Max symbol on the back. And she got a lot of shit for the way she came dressed, but fuck the haters because she’s a badass bitch who don’t give a shit! She also said that George Miller, the director of Mad Max, loved the jacket so everybody else can F off. AND ITS VEGAN. SO ITS EVEN MORE AWESOME.

She even said that if her outfit could do anything for people, it is to teach girls and women that looks aren’t everything and that you don’t have to be a supermodel to be successful #PreachGurl #VeganLeatherForDayz...

Vegan Sneakers

It’s 2016 people! Being a sneaker junkie is totally in right now, am I right? Well, I know it’s hard for all us vegans to jump on the sneaker bandwagon but rest assured, I found some pretty cute vegan sneaks that will put all Nikes to shame #sorrynotsorry

They are from a company called “Superga”. I first bought these shoes in Italy over the summer but they sell them online. They are made out of canvas and rubber (like my baes Converse) and are comfy and cute as EVER!!! (And come in diff. colors too!)

So yah, buy a pair, wear a pair, and tell people to fuck off. (Side note: socks are from brandy mel which they also sell online if you wanna buy my look lolz)

Vegan Leather Jacket

Leather. Let’s be real. It’s just a euphamism for “animal skin #sorrynotsorry

BUT, I do know it is very hard to be fashionable and find cute shoes, jackets, and bags without leather and I totes get that. BUT if you look HARD enough, you can totally find some really cute things, I promise!!

For example, my mom bought Bella and I these synthetic leather jackets from Top Shop. Super comfy, cute, and edgy at the same time!!! (Also way more cheap than leather jackets and you don’t have to feel creepy wearing something else’s skin on your shoulders, ya know? Unless you’re like into like wearing skins ‘n shit *as I slowly back away*)

So guys, don’t give up the fight! You just gotta be patient, do some digging, and I’m sure something cute, comfy, and edgy will show up!

Pic of the jacket below: (Ray bands not included. But weird...

Vegan Suede Shorts

Hey guys! We are trying to improve our “fashion” section of this blog because we have a lot of vegan articles of clothing but never got around to posting about them….so here’s to 2016: the year of trying not to be lazy about pretty much everything :/

I went shopping at this store called Hardwear on Larchmont the other day and found this  super cute pair of vegan suede shorts so I’d thought I’d post about them! They are SUPER comfy. Check em out!

Vegan Purse Options

Hey folks,  I decided to make a blog post about my two favorite companies that make vegan bags! Because we all know having a good purse makes us look more put together and in control of our lives (even though we are probably crumbing on the inside. Am i right or am I right?! #CrumblingOnTheInside #ThisWeekIsADisaster)

Number uno: Stella Mccartney (for the more expensive option)

Chic, classy, slick, and bad ass.

We’re talking high brand, expensivo, splurge worthy! I mean, ya gotta have at least one splurge worthy bag.

Stella Mccartney, being the badass 44 year old woman that she is, not only has a HELLA successful brand but also is a vegetarian and doesn’t use fur or leather!!! #YUSSSSS And her bags are so amazing.

Number dos: Accessorize (for the cheaper, but still as fashionable option)

Vegan Wallets

THANK YOU SOPHIE!!! Our older sister was kind enough to buy Olie and I vegan wallets for Christmas that are not only cruelty free (duhhhh) but also SUPER CUTE. These photos do not do them justice. The lighting was really awful, but they actually are super duper cute and I can’t wait to use it!  The company is called Matt and Nat and you should definitely check them out 🙂

I mean, uh, I’m checkin them out (wink wink)

P.S. Are Matt and Nat single? lol kidddddding #kinda

Blurry pic, whatcha gonna do?

VEGAN DESIGNERS

So my parent’s massuse Geanne who is also a vegan (HOLAAAA) sent Bella and I a link to these two vegan TWIN designers who are super boss from Berlin and design this incredibly edgy clothing company called UMASAN. A little on the expensivo side, but ya know, that’s that vegan life doe.

Click here to watch an interview with the boss ass twins (#twingoals): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DSkXmTbwCg

And click here to see their boss ass website (#websitegoals): http://www.umasan-berlin.com

VEGAN SANDALS

So Super Saturday is a shopping event in the Hamptons (I know, this sounds SO betchy but wait for the redeeming quality of it all) where everything you buy goes to charity (The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund). Visit http://www.ocrf.org here to donate or check out the cause!

Anyway, Olie and I spotted these super cute sandals there that aren’t made of leather! How cool! They’re from J/Slides and they are so nifty! Gotta love new fashions finds! Check them out 🙂

I NEED THIS SHIRT AND THIS JACKET. PRONTO.

VEGAN SHOPPING ON ROBERTSON BLVD, LOS ANGELES

Okay, so if you are a schopoholic like myself and you live in LA, you will no doubt find yourself skimming the blocks of Robertson Boulevard and if you are vegan (Which I presume you are based on the fact that you are reading our blog #jokes, no one reads our blog) you can find many trendy “fur” and “leather” options for your fabu wardrobe.

So the first store we went to is called Paul & Joe. The staff is incredibly friendly and is happy to help you with whatever you need and allowed us to take as many pictures as we wanted for our blog. The place has cute trendy things (I mean, Bella got a skirt covered in cats. How quirky/ Zooey Dechanel is that?!) and I got a FAUX fur vest.

Check it out my fellow shopaholics and support cruelty-free “fur”!

VEGAN AT MOOSHOES-LOWER EAST SIDE, NY

So, like must of us vegans who own old pairs of leather shoes, I too feel incredible amounts of guilt wash over me as I wear my old pair of leather boots to vegan restaurants. Their cute but not so, you know, vegan. But then…voila, mooshoes appeared! It is an all-vegan shoe store and you must check it out. (Not to mention right near Babycakes, the vegan bakery so maybe one day treat yourself to a pair of cute shoes and a salted caramel donut why don’t you? Men, I’m talking to you too! They have mens shoes too!)

Since it is summer, their boot stock was low and the whole store was pretty much just filled with flats and sandals but I did manage to find a cute pair of combat boots and some other closed toe shoes because I’m all about that close toe shoe life doe.

The bag was pretty sassy too. Vegan sass? Nothing better.

Sourse Glow Plant-Based Collagen Bites Review

Who else is obsessed with looking young and not getting old because of the patriarchal expectations placed upon women to look like children well into their adulthood? Ah, the joys of being a female…

But, for real, I know a lot of people (both men and women and non-binary) feel the pressure to age with grace and we all know that one of the best ways to keep your skin tight and glowing is by consuming collagen. BUT we also know that plant-based collagen is hard to come by. Why? Because it’s usually found in, like, animal bones and weird shit.

However, the company Sourse just released a plant-based collagen supplement in the form of little chocolate MnM’s. They’re officially (and fancily) called “Glow collagen-infused dark chocolate bites” but they’re essentially vegan MnMs.

I bought the bag to try them out after seeing them on Vegan Bodega Cat’s YouTube channel...

Ultima Replenisher Review

So, as you all know, I’m OBSESSED with Tik Tok. Like it’s bad. I’m truly obsessed and whenever someone tells me to buy something in a TikTok video and it happens to be vegan… I don’t know what happens. I lose control over my limbs and they mindlessly start entering my credit card number into all these websites. Before I know it, I’ve bought a million things I don’t need! Idk how it happens!

This Ultima Replenisher electrolyte powder was one of them. This fit AF girl on TT swore that putting this in her workout water was game-changing. I had to see it for myself. So I ordered the sampler pack for myself to try out all their flavors. I tried all except grape because… grape water? No thanks.

My verdict: eh. It was fine. I’m not a huge fan of powder flavorings for water, especially when they taste a teeny bit artificial. I actually found myself wanting to drink LESS water when...

Sakara Meal Delivery Review

What’s better than cooking? Postmating! What’s better than Postmating? Having a vegan meal delivery service so you don’t ever have to cook or choose what to eat again!

Okay, I’m not gonna lie, Postmates is still my number one bae, but I did want to try this Sakara meal delivery service because my sister Sophie and my friend Monica raved about it. It’s an ALL VEGAN meal delivery service and is incredibly healthy.

Here’s the catch. It’s INCREDIBLY expensive. To be fair, you are paying for really high quality ingredients BUT because of how expensive it was, I probably will not be ordering from them again. Gotta budget these days. I honestly think most of the food was yummy but not NEARLY worth how expensive it was.

So I got breakfast + dinner delivered for Friday and Thursday and this is what I ended up getting.

For my breakfast, I got this...

Vegan Hair Growth Vitamins

Because I’ve had issues with my hair (i.e. hair loss, hair thinning, etc), I have had to start taking vitamins #adulthood! I started taking both Iron (which is good for vegan diets in general and good for hair growth) and biotin (which is great for hair growth specifically).

I love the Solgar gentle iron because it’s “gentle on your stomach”. So for all my IBS kings and queens, this is the supplement for you. Also, during such a stressful pandemic, don’t you just want something to be gentle with you???? It’s a super easy pill to swallow and the entire bottle lasts a really long time. Highly recommend if you are vegan and looking for an iron supplement!

Okay in terms of biotin supplements, I really love these Grow Girl Hair Growth Supplements because they are the vegan version of #SugarBearHair so I feel cool taking them AND  they 1) are pink 2) taste like gummy bears 3) Have Biotin AND...

Verb Vitamin Review

Verb. It’s what you do.

It’s also the name of a plant-based vitamin company that makes multivitamins specifically for vegans! Website can be found here: https://verbvitamins.com

The company recently reached out to my sister and me to try their new product for free with no string attached. As hoes for free shit, we automatically said yes. For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, Verb was started by two hot vegan men (did I mention they were hot?) and their goal was to create an easy daily supplement for vegans, without them having to buy bottles of all the various supplements they usually take.

This daily has everything. It has plant-based Omega 3, plant-based D3, magnesium, calcium citrate, vitamin c, B-12, iron, and zinc. I’m not sure what other supplements you or even a non-vegan would need.

My review: I loved them....

Love Good Fats Bar Review

Okay, so I’ve been eating protein bars for breakfast since I was like 16. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been a huge fan of breakfast. I can never seem to find time for it and I also don’t necessarily crave breakfast-type foods. So I usually want something fast and quick. Growing up, I used to resort to Luna Bars, Nugo Bars, and Cliff Bars. And don’t get me wrong, those are all super delicious but they are also super high in sugar. And sugar isn’t always bad, but maybe it’s not the best thing to start your morning with.

I’ve become obsessed with these Love Good Fat chocolate chip cookie dough bars and I eat them all the time for breakfast now. They are marketed as “snack bars” and not necessarily “protein bars” but they have 7 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. They are packed with 14 grams of good fat and they are both gluten-free and sugar alcohol free.  ...

OWYN Protein Shake Review

GUYS. I don’t know how OWYN did it, but they did it.

You may be asking: What exactly is “it”?

They created a delicious VEGAN protein shake that not only tastes good, but actually tastes INCREDIBLE. And not just “incredible for a protein shake” but actually incredible. Incredible like “tastes like an oreo milkshake” incredible. And all the ingredients are super healthy: 4g sugar per bottle, 180 calories, 20g protein, gluten-free, soy free, peanut free etc.

They have a few flavors on their website but I’ve only tried the oreo one and I was so obsessed that I literally ordered an entire case of them. They are super easy to drink in the morning, esp if you hate eating in the morning like I do. And they literally taste like dessert.

I don’t know how they did it guys, but they…. they did it. A round of applause to OWYN...

Sunwarrior Protein Powder and Vegan Collagen Peptides Review

Vegan collagen!?!? Yes, you vegans heard that right. My favorite vegan protein powder brand of all time – Sunwarrior – not only has the most delicious selection of vegan protein powders ever, but they also have Tahitian vanilla VEGAN collagen powder.

Brb. I’m crying because this is one of the best things that has happened to me in quarantine. Please give me a moment.

No, but, real talk, if you’re looking for a good vegan protein powder and also kinda despise Vega as much as I do (sorry, Vega), then PLEASE check out Sunwarrior. This is not sponsored, although a girl can dream.

Their protein powder is not chalky at all and tastes like dessert. Same with the collagen powder. Adding either of them to your morning smoothie or cup of coffee as a creamer literally takes it to the next level. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. As that Nickelodeon commercial used to say, “your...

Vegan Immune Support Gummies for Corona

GUYS AND GALS AND NON-BINARIES, WHO ELSE IS FREAKING THE F**K OUT ABOUT CORONA? Even though I can’t see you all, I feel like 7 billion people would be raising their hands.

This corona pandemic is scary as hell. Hospitals are overrun. People are dying left and right. Toilet paper is being sold on the black market!! Are we living in some Rick and Morty alternate universe? Rick, bring us back to 2019!!

Anyway, as most vegans know, finding any kind of vitamin, especially gummies, is pretty hard because most of them contain animal products like gelatin. However, I’m here to tell you all that I found the perfect vegan vitamin to strengthen your immune system during these crazy times: Garden of Life My Kind Life Elderberry Immune Gummies filled with Elderberry, Zinc, and Vitamin C.

They taste good and make me feel like I’m doing something good for myself. In the age of corona, self-care...

Veestro: Plant-Based Meal Delivery Service Review

Hey everyone! In the wise words of Kylie Jenner, “Rise and Shiiinnneee.” Your girl is back with another review and this time it’s not a restaurant or a product, but rather a mix of both: a meal delivery service.

For those of you hooligans who don’t know what Veestro is, Veestro is a completely plant-based (aka vegan) meal delivery service that sends you precooked/preprepared frozen meals that are ready to eat after being microwaved or baked in the oven. Easy as pie! (Is that the phrase? I don’t even know lol).

On a serious note, as someone recovering from disordered eating, my therapist thought it would be a good idea for me to not stress about what I was eating for dinner and rather eat preprepared meals that I knew were healthy for me and wouldn’t have to think twice about ( AND would allow me not to obsess over the calorie count).

There were a few vegan meal delivery...

R.E.D.D Bar Fall Flavors 2019 Launch Party!

The wonderful and lovely people of Redd Bar kindly invited my sister and I to their launch event for their new fall flavors: Cinnamon Roll and Matcha * cue my drooling *. My sister couldn’t come beacuse she’s too lame being an adult and having a job (Lame with a capital L), so I was riding solo to this event!

The event started off with a candle-lit vinyasa flow yoga class at Y7 Studios that was SO relaxing (Although, at the end of the class, I realized I was an idiot and forgot to grab a yoga mat, so I was doing yoga on just the blanket that goes under the mat #imdumb) but it was still an amazing class. The instructor was so nice and helpful!

Then after, we were TREATED with the most amazing healthy vegan truffles I had EVER eaten in my entire life (not an exaggeration I promise). They had cinnamon bun Redd Bar truffles with a cinnamon coconut cream and candied nuts on top that LITERALLY tasted like Cinnabon. Like...

Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies Review

The latest trend in health: ACV, baby!!!!!

For those of you who aren’t #trendy, ACV stands for: Apple Cider Vinegar. Now I know this ACV craze is pretty recent in the world of mainstream health, but I’ve been on the ACV train for quite a while. I literally used to drink a spoonful of ACV every time I got the hiccups. Works like a charm!

Because of that, I think I aquired a taste for it and now actually like the taste of it.  How gross? Yes, I know I’m a weirdo. However, most of the world is not as weird as me and cannot stand the taste of ACV, which is why Goli Nutrition has come out with the world’s first ACV gummies!

Being an avid ACV lover and consumer, I just had to get my hands on these puppies. They were delivered pretty quickly after I ordered them and came in the cutest little package. For those wondering, yes the gummies are completely gluten-free and vegan/gelatin-free…...

Xicamix Review + The Importance of Prebiotics for Gut Health

HEY, ERRRRRYBODY! It’s been a while since we’ve posted something in our “health” category on this blog, but I think this post is definitely one that you’ll want to read if you’re a health nut!

So, my twinny and I were fortunate enough to attend a health & wellness event today, which featured vegan snacks/chocolates, facials using vegan products, and Xicamix! At this event, we learned a lot about gut health.

I know you all are like “Xicamix? Da fuk is dat?” Well, sweethearts, I’ll tell you. Xicamix is a vegan company that uses jicama juice to make prebiotic shots and jicama pulp to make prebiotic flour. Now you’re all probably like, “Prebiotics? Well, what da fuk is that?” Well, sweethearts, basically prebiotics are a special form of fiber that acts as a fertilizer for the good bacteria in your gut (aka, the probiotics!) See, it all ties together. Without...

Vegan at Tomoko Spa in Beverly Hills

I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. I’m not even kidding, The Japanese Tomoko Spa in Beverly Hills is the BEST spa I have ever been to in my entire life. I know you’re all probably thinking, “every spa is great, stfu,” but, oh honey, as someone who has been to a fair share of spas in my lifetime, including a spa in actual Japan, this one takes the CAKE. Vegan cake, obviously. Duh.

Let me start from the beginning. The Tomoko Spa is famous for their couples massage, aka “The Japanese Experience,” which is what my sissy and I got. It was such a multi-layered experience, I don’t even know where to begin. When you arrive, they bring you into the most zen lounge of all time. They treat you to tea and chocolate (unfortunately, the chocolate wasn’t vegan), and, once you fill out a quick document, they take you and your partner to your own PRIVATE SUITE. Yes, you read that correctly. The...

Vegan Facial at MudbuM West Hollywood

WOW, I just realized that the name MudbuM is just the word “Mud” and it’s reflection next to it. I am #mindfucked. Anyway, for those of you wondering what da fuk MudbuM is, it’s a “facial bar” or, in other words, a cute and trendy place for express facials.

Each facial is only $55 dollars (which may seem like a lot, but most facials are wayyyy more expensive) and if you are a first-timer, they reduce the price to $25. A $25 dollar facial??? Sign me up, ladies!

It’s located in West Hollywood, across the street from Fonuts, and has cute neon signs and fun wallpaper inside. They have a menu of different facials you can choose from (based on your skin concerns), all of which are vegan. They also have $10 add-ons which are also all vegan, except for the breast milk treatment. Yes, you read that correctly. Breast. Milk.

It says it is ethically...

Milk and Eggs Grocery Delivery Review

Hey guys, not sure if any of you knew this, but I just got eye surgery on both of my eyes yesterday and have been finding it very hard to leave my apartment (as the anesthesia is still wearing off).

Lucky for me, an online grocery delivery company (milkandeggs.com) sent my sister and I a coupon to shop online from their website and have groceries delivered to us! With the discount they gave us, I paid for ALL of my groceries for only $0.72 cents!!! Can you believe that?

Now I know what you all are thinking. Milk and eggs? Not the most vegan name of a company. Correct, BUT I’ll have you know they have vegan sections per every category. Obviously,  fruits and veggies are vegan, but they also have a whole section of dairy alternatives and meat alternatives for us vegans out there! Whoop! Whoop!

Plus, they can legit deliver it STRAIGHT to your door in 24 hours! It’s crazy!

Here...

Amazing Grass Review

So, guys, it’s 2018 and I’m sure we all made new year resolutions along the lines of lose weight, get fit, eat more healthy, eat more greens, stop looking like a giant fat-ass cow when you put on a two-piece… you know, the usual.

Well, my friend gave me these Amazing Grass green powders for Christmas to try out (because I couldn’t stop complaining about the fact that I only eat carbs lol #sadbuttrue). Because it was over the holidays, she got me some of the winter ~seasonal~ flavors such as chocolate peppermint, holiday cookie, and the normal greens packet.

First of all: Each packet contains your daily doses of veggies and fruits for the day including wheat grass, barley grass, alfalfa, spirulina, cherry, carrot, pineapple, a blend of probiotics, and much more! (like literally, name a fruit or veggie… it’s in there)

Secondly: They taste quite good!...

Inhale Health: Vegan Vitamin Inhalation Devices

Looking for a vegan holiday gift?? LOOK NO FURTHER!! 🎄🎅🏼🎁 My sis and I have become brand ambassadors for Inhale Health® and are collaborating with them this month to give you all a DISCOUNT on their non-toxic vegan vitamin inhalation devices just in time for the holidays!!!

Zero calories, no sugar, and so so fun to use! The code is: VEGANLIFE10 ‼️ They literally have products for every lifestyle, including: one to boost ENERGY which works as a substitute to coffee ☕️🤸🏼‍♂️ A vitamin one with B1, B2,B6, and B12 💊 and they also have a melatonin one to boost SLEEP 😴 💤 🌙 I’m not even kidding when I say this guys, I’m lowkey obsessed lol

Vegan Hair and Nail Strengthener

GUYS. My friend Pamela (ala @Prettyandspiced on Insta) told me about this company called HUM, that makes supplements to strengthen nails and hair. They have a vegan one (little heart shaped gummies!!) that strengthens your hair (but also low-key your nails because they are both made of keratin).

Ever since taking them, I have noticed my nails are stronger, longer, and break less. Also the gummies are really yummy and the packaging is so cute.

I HIGHLY recommend!!

Veestro Meal Delivery Service Review

So I’ve wanted to try a vegan meal delivery service for a VERY long time. The thought of food being delivered to your apartment sounded SPLENDID.

SO. I looked online and found Veestro. What does ‘Veestro’ mean? No fucking clue.

I got the weight loss program because I wanted to loose weight to conform to male expectation I didn’t want that much food considering it was the first time I ordered it and I didn’t know what to expect. HOWEVER, it came with so much fucking food, I had to beg my friends to take some because my freezer was too small (and it was also packed to the brim with Tofurky pizza pockets #LIFE)

Here’s the deal. Food was yummy but nothing special. For three days of food (granted it could have lasted me a lifetime) it was $200 dollars. I ended up giving most of it away to friends because I couldn’t physically store it all. I really...

Ranch Malibu at Live Oak Review

Hey guys! So yes, I attened the Ranch Malibu for a week and lived to tell the tale LOL. For all of you who don’t know what the Ranch is, it’s pretty much a health & wellness retreat/bootcamp aimed for mental clarity, weight loss, and overall improved health.

First of all, I want to mention that the ENTIRE retreat is 100% plant based so the AMAZING AMAZING executive chef there, Nina Curtis, made the most amazing, creative, unforgettable vegan meals I’ve ever had!!! All of them were made of whole foods, sans soy and gluten. The last morning she made a coconut yogurt (with real young coconut meat) topped with fresh berries and granola, and I shit you not, it literally tasted like she had served me a slice of coconut cream pie. If you want to check out her instagram, go check out @botanicalchef. Forget thinspo and losing weight. She makes eating a balanced healthy diet seem AWESOME.

Here are some of the meals...

Vegan Sleeping Aid

So guys, idk if you’re like me, but sometimes at night I’m kind of a crazy person and can’t shut my brain off. I pretty much think of everything I can possibly think of until it turns into insomnia and I’m watching vegan “what I eat in a day” videos until 5 am. Again, I’m crazy.

Anyway, I was having some trouble sleeping the other night and stopped at a vegan Apothercary store in Covent garden and bought this powder called “cherry night” which they recommended for insomnia.

I know it seems sketchy AF but I shit you not, IT WORKED.

You just pour a teaspoon into your water or tea or even a smoothie and drink it an hour before bed.

I have no idea if it was a placebo affect or not, but it worked! So if you’re curious, check it out!

Vegan Cooking Class Los Angeles

Guys, I think we may have found the best and most adorable vegan cooking class, not only in LA, but in the entire galaxy #notevenkidding

So this cooking class is called Spork Foods and is run by two awesome sisters named Jenny and Heather #gurlpower

For starters, the set up and aesthetics of the class/kitchen were adorable, not cramped and hot in an industrial kitchen like some other cooking classes I’ve been too before. It almost seemed like more of a hang out loft rather than a kitchen.

On top of that, the food was probably some of the best food I’ve ever had. And that’s saying alot because literally all I do is eat.

The class Bella, our friend Maxine, and I went to was Asian/Hawaiian themed so we made Sweet Hawaiian Miso Soup, Sake and Garlic Glazed Edamame, Ahi-style Sesame Tempeh, and customized crunchy and spicy avococado poke...

ShapeHouse-Pasadena, CA

Guys…what if you could burn almost 1,000 calories by just laying down and watching your fave tv shows on Netflix? (Pretty much what all my daydreams consist of lol)

Lo and behold, ladies and gents, the day has finally arrived. At ShapeHouse you can literally do just that!

Now, I know there are a shit-ton of haters out  there saying “But all you lose is water weight! Blah, blah, blah” but there are so many other benefits to going to ShapeHouse than losing cals. Life is more than just losing calories people!

So what is Shapehouse? Great question. ShapeHouse is like the hottest celebrity trend. Selena Gomez and a bunch of other celebrities go all the time to lose excess weight before red carpet events.

BUT WHAT IS IT?! Geez, I’m getting there. It’s basically a “spa” (i guess) where you lay down in private heated “pods” and sweat...

How To Keep Hydrated

HEY GUYS. We probably don’t realize it, but most of us spend our day dehydrated because we don’t think about drinking enough water. But it’s VERY important. Almost more important than Harry Styles cutting his hair.

Apparently, we are, on average, supposed to drink eight 8-ounce classes of water a day. TBH, I think I drink like 2 lol. And idk if this is true, but apparently if you ever feel thirsty, then it’s too late . You’re already dehydrated. Dun dun duhhhhh.

And if you’re like me, you find drinking water boring . BUT I found a trick to the system. A fruit infuser water bottle. I SWEAR. I used to have one (but then it grew mold because I forgot to wash it lol) and I loved the taste of the fruit water so much. I not only enjoyed drinking the water, but I also carried it everywhere with me and peed like 20 times a day because I was drinking so much water.

I recommend...

Best Workout Classes in New York City

A cool neon sign from 305 Fitness

1. Soul Cyle

A cycling class that is pretty damn legit and trendy. I’d recommend it for a high intensity workout mixed with awesome music and inspirational speeches. I do have to say though, some people get WAY too into it lol.

2. Orange Fitness

Treadmill, rowing, and floor workouts, all with your heart connected to a monitor to see your progress.  Very good workout, but kind of embarrassing when they put your heart monitor results on a giant board with everybody else’s and you’re coming in last…… #lol #me

3. SLT

SUCH A GOOD WORKOUT. More toning than anything else. It’s like pilates mixed with cardio? I was shaking the entire time and legit couldn’t walk for the rest of the day. But i’d...

Vegan B12 Spray

HEY GUYS. So I know taking B12 is a drag, but I found a fun/yummy way to take it! I saw SupremeBanana (I think?) take it on her youtube channel and so I thought I’d try it out. It’s a spray B12 and you take 1 spray each morning and it tastes so good! It takes like a healthier version of that sour spray I used to eat as a kid! And it beats sucking on a stupid dissolvable pill every day!

Big Basin Redwoods – Boulder Creek, CA

Big Basin, Big Basin, Big Basin, oh yeah! #BigBootySong #NotTheIggyOne #TheOtherOne #YaFeelMe?

Kristen took us to Big Basin Redwoods this morning which is a foresty area with hiking trails and HUGE AF trees. It was so pretty!! We decided to ask what the easiest trail was because we are #WeakAssPussies but still wanted to enjoy the scenery.

We also spotted a group of sexy French guys that we tried to follow but we were way too obvious about so we escaped into the forest before they could catch on! #SlyMotherFuckersUnite

The walk was so nice (legit took like 20 mins lol #excersise) but we made the best of our 20 minutes with nature as we climbed trees, sang songs (One Direction of...

Vegan Fiber Supplement

HEY FOLKS

My friend put this fiber probiotic in her smoothie this morning so I thought I’d try it! I’m not sure what the results are since I don’t take it every day, but if you were looking for a vegan fiber supplement, here ya go, home skillet! Dreams really do come true!

Side note: The smoothie I had that morning was TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT YEA! Kristen’s mom said she buys fruit at the farmer’s market and freezes it! Smart idea! I had an almond milk, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry smoothie (with the fiber powder which kind of tastes orange-y) and it was amazeballs.

MIANUS RIVER GORGE- BEDFORD, NY

Yes I know this isn’t about food, but it’s about health and nature which is closely related to the vegan diet! Get it? Got it? Good.

So this morning, the sis, and our friend Sara decided to be proactive this morning and take a hike like the healthy people we are! (Or we just felt incredibly guilty about binge eating the chickpea brownies we made the night before #umm #veganproblems #neveragain). Anyways, we woke up, made smoothies (with flax seeds because we were REALLY feeling the healthy vibes), and set off for our hike!

The hike was so beautiful and picturesque. I literally felt like I was inside of a movie like Twilight or The Hunger Games of The Last of Us. So beautiful and peaceful. We took a mix of the red and blue trail because it was...

VEGAN B12 SUPPLEMENT

So, I know I said I’m super healthy solely because of my vegan diet, but I do take ONE supplement (SUE ME). It’s B12. Ya’ll should take it too.  The reason I take it is because it is usually found in meat, fish, and dairy and ain’t nobody got time for that shit.  For those of you who are wondering, B12 is important for the development of the brain, blood cells, and nerves.

Anyways, this is the B12 I take and I love it. Not only is it cherry flavored, but you don’t have to let it dissolve under your tongue like other B12 supplements. Also, when I showed it to my doctor, he was impressed with how much B12 was in each tablet. And when I got my blood work back, he said my B12 was more than great. So, for all you vegans who are successfully getting all your protein and calcium and such from vegan food (because vegan food is VERY rich in all of those things), just make sure that you do take a B12 supplement so that your brain...

BEING VEGAN IS HEALTHY

DUH. Tell me something I don’t know! (Like where Idaho or Kansas is on the map…um)

I am so tired of hearing: “Where do you get your protein?” “How do you get calcium?” “What about all the vitamins?” blah blah blah. Here’s your answer: ALL that shit is plentiful in the vegan diet. I recently had blood work done and got the the results today and my doctor said everything was perfect and that my calcium, protein, and vitamins were great! WOOO! So there ya go bitches, the vegan diet rocks!

VEGAN GROCERY LIST

Food shopping is the best shopping.

So I feel like this post is necessary. Correct me if I’m wrong. Actually don’t. I’m not in the mood.

I’m sure there are other vegan essentials I don’t know about yet, but I am trying to learn my way through the jungle of cooking, and this is my current list. If you have any objections, F OFF. #Sorry #ImSick #AndBitterAboutIt #IgnoreMyTemper #kbye

  1. Chickpeas (lots of them- if you are as addicted as we are)
  2. Brown rice pasta
  3. Lemons, tomatoes, bananas, carrots, strawberries, raspberries, apples
  4. Hummus
  5. Garlic
  6. Avocados

Most Annoying Vegan Question

Non-vegan: “How do you get your protein?”

Vegan: *no comment*

So us vegans always get asked this dumb question all the time. This is my answer: how do giraffes get their protein? Nobody ever questions that (For those who live a under a rock, giraffes are vegan and also happen to be one of the biggest mammals on this planet). And then there are those people who suddenly become health experts and strongly suggest drinking protein shakes and eating peanut butter.  As if I don’t, I will immediatly begin to die a slow and painful death. But anybody who has actually done their research knows that vegan diets are very healthy and much more so than a carnivore’s diet.

Geez people can be so dbfshfkjshdfsd. K i’m done venting. I’m not a carnivore hater. Just hope people do their research before making judgments, as with anything.

Food Log

Logging in the food you eat throughout the day in a notebook, a phone app, or a stickie on the computer is a great way to be mindful of what you are eating. Olie and I recently shared a food log (i know, the common stereotype is that twins share everything, which is sometimes true, not always. But in this case, and i have no reason why, we shared a food log in). Olie’s food is logged in pink and mine is in orange.

This is just an example of a food log in if you wanted to know how to make one. But you can do it however you like.

The Gentle Barn Sanctuary – Our Amazing Experience!

I have no words for how much I love The Gentle Barn sanctuary and all the healing and rehabilitating they do for the abused and mistreated farm animals in their care. It makes me want to cry in the best way possible and gives me hope that there are other people out there who care about animals as much as we do.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Gentle Barn, it’s an animal sanctuary 30 minutes outside of LA in Santa Clarita, CA that takes in and rehabilitates abused farm animals such as cows, pigs, donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, llamas, chickens, turkeys, and much more. They not only rescue them from factory farms and let them live into their senior hood (most cows live until 23, but factory farming kills them before they even turn 1 years old!), but they also rehabilitate them and treat their physical and mental injuries (aka trauma) before letting them live the rest of their lives in the sanctuary....

Food For Life Global Earth Day Pledge 2021

Guess what’s coming up?? If you answered the release of the Black Widow film, you are correct, but also wrong. It is coming out, but that’s not what I was referring to lol. I was actually referring to Earth Day! Yes, the wonderful day where we celebrate the glorious planet Earth that we live on. Our home planet (in case you forgot…)

As most of you know, one of the best ways to save the planet and slow climate change is to go vegan. I know all the vegan-haters will come after me for saying that, but they just hate us cuz they ain’t us and they know it’s true.

Anyway, the Food for Life Global organization is doing an amazing pledge leading up to Earth Day, so I thought I’d share a little bit about the organization and the pledge below if you want to see how you can get involved or just learn a little bit more about:

Animalia Launch + DISCOUNT CODE!

Do you like saving animal’s lives? I hope so… if not, why are you on a vegan blog??? GTFO, you don’t even go here!

Well, you’re in luck if you do because not eating animals is not the only way you can help conserve wildlife! Was that a double-negative? I’m confused.

The brand Animalia (IG: @iloveanimalia) had a launch event for their clothing brand that gives 10% of its ADORABLE t-shirt proceeds to designated animal conservation programs, such as: protecting rhino’s from poachers, protecting sea turtles from extinction, and protecting Asian elephants from abusive tourist attractions, and much more as they continue to partner with various conservation programs.

Plus, they were kind enough to give us a discount code for our readers!! If you use the code “COHENTWINS” at checkout, you can get 10% off the T-shirts!!!

Healthy Junk Vegan Faire

Anaheim is no longer only home to the magic known as Disneyland BUT it is also home to the magic known as the Healthy Junk Vegan Faire!!! YOU GOT THAT RIGHT. A fair with ALL vegan food and products. Basically heaven.

While we were here, we sampled vegan jerky, hot sauce, protein powder, and all other kinds of vegan goodies. We bought vegan deodorant, CORN DOGS, DIPPIN DOTS, AND DONUTS. Twas a MEGA success. The food was incredible.

The doughnuts were SO AMAZING and from a company called Good Town Doughnuts USA. It legit tasted like a krispy kreme. There were all different flavors like triple berry and matcha, but I want with the OG. Ugh it was SO soft. I could eat 10 right now.

GUYS who doesn’t love dippin dots???? NO? OKAY. Then you didn’t have a childhood. SORRY. NOT. SORRY.

Dippin dots are THE SHIT. And if you haven’t tried them, then  what...

Vegan Virtual Reality

My sister and I were able to try @animalequality‘s virtual reality from the perspective of a pig in a slaughterhouse 😫

Heartbreaking, gruesome, & brutally honest… an experience everyone should go through (virtually not physically lol).

The truth hurts us, but not as much as it hurts them.

Visit ianianimal360.com for more details!!! #ianimal #theirvoice #animalequality

Long Beach Vegan Festival

Festivals are great. Vegan food is ballar. How about a VEGAN FOOD festival??? #mind #blown

Yes, yes my vegan friends. There was an entire vegan festival in Long Beach, California (about an hour outside of LA) the other week. Not only did they have mouthwatering vegan food, but the also had music and vegan fashion! Wahoo! Oh yah!

Overall, it was fun and delicious! Not nearly as crowded as the vegan street fair (that was a literal nightmare. They could make a horror film off of our experience) and much more variety in the stands. If it ever rolls around again next year, I highly suggest y’all check it out!

So here are a few of the stands we went to:

. Word of Mouth Truck: A truck with literally the cutest graphic design painted on it AND the most fun and creative foods like mac & cheese bites and a mac & cheese covered hot dog! Bringing fun back into the vegan diet...

The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats

GUYS. Do you ever feel the intense desire to take a random ass road trip adventure with friends?? Well, that’s exactly what my friends and I did today. We drove 2 hours to the Mojave dessert to go play with goats!

Ok, I know that sounds cray cray, but let me explain. In Mojave, there is a rescue sanctuary for animals called The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats. It is basically a home for rescue animals, such as dogs, goats, horses, pigs, roosters, cows, etc.

The people who run it are SO SWEET and care SO MUCH about their animals. And the animals were all so adorable and friendly!!

It  was such a nice break from Los Angeles/USC coming out to Mojave to spend time with nature and animals. It put a lot of things into perspective and reminded me why I love animals so much and how lucky we are to share the earth with them.

It...

Meeting Vegan Youtubers Bonny Rebecca and Tim

So the other day, my twinzie, the little sis, and our family friend Caroline ventured to Santa Monica to attend our third vegan meetup- this time meeting youtubers Bonny Rebecca and her boyfriend Tim.

It was awesome to see so many people passionate about animal rights all in one setting (and lets be real, even more awesome to see a giant ass picnic table covered in vegan food- cookies, cupcakes, fruit, chips, the whole shebang. I literally wanted to Augustus Gloop it and eat it all lol)

On the other hand, Bonny and Tim were such sweethearts and it was a pleasure to them both! And we also ran into Mr.Vegan! (As you can see, he is gracefully photobombing our photo in the back lol)

All in all, good fun, good food, good friends, good cause. What more could you ask for? (Probably Chris Hemsworth riding in on a horse shirtless, but you can’t get everything you want)

NO. They have MORE fear.

Saw this post on tumblr. SO offensive. Like don’t even pretend we have it worse because we can use words and speak up for ourselves. ANIMALS HAVE MORE FEAR BECAUSE THEY DON’T HAVE A VOICE, just like every minority on this planet. Animals get slaughtered because they don’t have a voice. Enough with this angsty tumblr bullshit #bye

New Louis Vuitton ad apparently cruelty free? But not?

Newest headline:

Selena Gomez Now Wearing Giant Faux Fur Hats for Louis Vuitton

Ummmmm who cares if the hat is fake fur when the jacket and the bag are real leather? Like I’m so confused. Why even point out that the hat is fake fur? To make it seem like you care about animals? Pft. People who have a problem with fur, but wear leather are my pet peeeeeeve.  BRO.

Sausage Party Film Controversy

Ok, so  there is no current controvery but I would love to stir some up because who doesn’t like to be a #dramaqueen every now and then?

However, as a vegan, there is a lot of truth to the controversy I’m about to explore, so pay attention folks.

This Seth Rogen animated film “Sausage Party” relies on the joke: “What if the food we ate had feelings?” Hmmm, think about that. The humor comes from watching foods, which we believe to be inanimate objects, scream in horror as they are diced, sliced, chopped, you name it.

But wait…a sausage is scared to die and that’s funny because sausages don’t have feelings, right?…But do they?  I mean, think about it. What is the sausage?

Sausage is the flesh of a pig who, believe it or not, was probably also scared shitless to be diced, chopped, tortured, and slaughtered…not...

Myth Busters: Cafe Gratitude will NOT be adding meat to their menu.

Contrary to popular belief, the all-vegan Cafe Gratitude and Gracias Madres restaurants will NOT be adding meat to their menus. Despite the overdramatic articles and ridiculous rumors spreading about LA, we called the restaurant and were reassured that CG and GM will remain meat-free. So yes, you vegans may sleep easy now.

As to the fuckers who started this rumor: get a hobby. Please. Spare us the drama #sorrynotsorry #fuckyoufuckers

Vegan Los Angeles Meet Up

HEY HEY HEY folks! Guess what? ThatVeganLifeDoe went to its very FIRST vegan meetup at Urth Café in Santa Monica!!!

It was hosted by one of my fave instagram accounts @frommybowl run by a college girl named Caitlin who is legit such a  sweetheart!!!

Bella and I came with two vegans from USC (A new friend Neera – @neeraamaya- and our good friend Maxine @planthappy).

There we met Kristin and Lex AKA Mr. and Mrs. Vegan (@mrs_vegan and @healthiestvegan), who are truly super sweet, down to earth, and incrediblly knowledgable about the vegan diet …and also recognized us from our  youtube channel LOL.

Mrs. Vegan also brought her sister @basicveganbitch and then we also met another super sweet vegan college student from UCLA (#gobruins #lol) @chibaniyogurt

If you have time, go check out their instagrams! They are each so genuine and amazing and...

Vegan Buzzfeed quiz

Buzzfeed did it again, folks!

If you’re vegan and were ever really questioning if you were actually vegan (lol) take this buzzfeed quiz!

http://www.buzzfeed.com/agh/this-test-will-determine-if-youre-a-real-vegan?utm_term=.yvO3gYvoMB#.yvO3gYvoMB

I  got 8 out of 12 right and according to buzzfeed I “may be vegan”. #slightlydissapointedinmyself #lol

Anyway, the quiz is hilarious. Try it and see if you really know your vegan stuff! Also, thanks to my friend Sarah for sending it to me!!

Vegan Ted Talk

Hey guys, if y’all in the mood to listen to something elightening when you wake up in the morning (other than Katy Perry of course lol) play this Ted Talk!

It’s called: “Beyond Carnism and Toward Rational, Authentic, Food Choices” by Melanie Joy. (Guys, is her last name really Joy? Cause if so, that’s rad, just saying)

It’s an incredibly enlightening, direct, and touching discussion on the vegan diet and what goes on behind the scenes in the meat industry. It’s also great to show to people who don’t understand your diet because it’s directed towards non-vegans.

Check it out folks!!! (Link below)

First Vegan Butcher Shop in the US

I know “vegan butcher” sounds like an oxymoron but it’s a real thing, guys!! This shop sells all vegan meats and cheeses and I WANT TO GO SO BAD. Too bad it’s in Minnesota and I have no intentions of going there any time soon lol. But hey, if you’re in the area. Check it out and lemme know what you think

Blog Update

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as you know (or don’t?), we haven’t been posting a lot 🙁 Our blog is having some technical difficulties right now that we are trying to work out. So for our hardcore fans out there (Hello? Anybody? Are you out there, God? It’s me Margaret), WE WILL BE BACK! SEXIER THAN EVER!

We actually have so many new blog posts to post including recipe posts so get excited!! I mean, what else do you guys have to be excited about in your mediocre lives? (Kidding!!! You are all unique snowflakes)

All jokes aside, HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS!!! I hope 2016 is a boss ass year for all you people and all your craziest wishes come true!

Need a New Year’s Resolution? GO VEGAN.

Well worded tumblr post

This got thousands of reblogs. I can only hope that all those people are all considering veganism or are vegan already.

Cowspiracy

If you aren’t a vegan and haven’t seen this documentary, then please do. If you care about the planet you live on, this film will one hundred percent make you want to turn vegan. What’s really interested about this film is that it tackles the vegan diet from a different angle. It isn’t about ethical rights, but rather, environmental rights.

Believe it or not, the meat and dairy industry are the leading causes for all of the environmental problems our planet faces today. Global Warming? Air pollution? All could be decreased dramatically by going vegan.  Don’t believe me? Go ahead and watch. You can find Cowspiracy on Netflix, so no excuses kids #NetflixandChill

Also, a friend just texted me the other day saying how he watched this film and how it turned him vegan #CowspiracyForTheWin

SPCA

Hey guys! Is anyone else really into Coldplay’s Adventure of a Lifetime song? #Thoughts #Random

Anyway! Kristen took us to Macy’s in San Fran where, around the holidays, the SPCA (adoption program for pets in San Fran), puts puppies and kittens in the display windows to be adopted! How smart! (If only every display window had puppies!!) Apparently, 30 pets had already been adopted that day #YUSS!

(I couldn’t get any quality pics of the display cases but we did go inside and take some pics of the cats in the cages)

I donated 20 dollars because the lady collecting donations told us that the SPCA was a no kill shelter #yas #heroes. Anyways, check them out if you’re in San Fran or go online and donate to your local shelters! Not every shelter is “no-kill” so please adopt if ya can!

PRINCESS

Our love for animals comes from growing up with so many pets. When you grow up with animals, you grow up knowing that animals have souls just like we do.

Yesterday, we lost a beautiful soul and a member of our family.

Princess, our 10 year old German Shepard, passed away last night after a long battle with cancer. She had the sweetest, strongest, most adventurous spirit. RIP pretty girl    We Love You

Hey guys! Long time no talk. (Not that anybody was even listening in the first place…lolz to my total of 1 viewers out der. Hollllaaaa)

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let yall know that I’m writing an extensive research paper on animal rights for class and thought I’d share some of my sources if you little smarty pants ever thought of doing the same. My goal is to turn my writing teacher vegetarian. Wish me luck!

VEGAN ARTICLE IN NEW BEAUTY SPA+ MAGAZINE

So folks, as I was parusing through a spa magazine by the fire place (casually of course) I happen to lay my eyes upon the most magnificent sight! A whole article talking about why the vegan diet rules and other diets suck! Ok, maybe it wasn’t so harsh about the meat eaters out there wandering around lost and confused in the world, but it did have a shit load of splendid things to say about us veg heads!

Anyway, I don’t have a scanner so I took pics of the articles, so feel free to squint at the screen and read!

SAM SIMON TALKS VEGANISM

I was scrolling through a magazine when i came upon this article. It was about Sam Simon, one of the creators of the Simpsons. It was all about how he has cancer (keep him in your prayers! Or for you non religious folks out there, keep him in your thoughts!). Anyways, he is a vegan! In the article is says he funds vegan food banks! How cool is that!? Check him out 🙂

THATVEGANLIFEDOE gets an instagram!

Hey guyssss i know it’s been a long time since we’ve posted (i know you guys are all secretly crying about it), well no need to be salty or butt-hurt about it anymore cause guess what!? We’re back! And we are better than EVER . The sis and I just came back from an AMAZING boat trip in the Carribean where we ate our hearts out and feasted on way too much vegan amazingness (and probably gained a gazillion pounds because there are no diets on vacation . Honestly, I don’t trust people who have diets on vacations. But that could be because i have trust issues #justkidding #butseriously #BoycottDietsOnVacation)

Anyways, the crew of the boat was super sweet enough to take this photo with us, so enjoy! Also one of the crew members might even become vegan because of us! (jk his twin sister is vegan but ya know what!? ThatVeganLifeDoe deff inspired him more). Anyways, enjoy the lovely pic of us with these lovely lads. Miss em already

AGAVE: THE SNEAKY VILLAIN

Coming to a theater near you

Sooo i was reading Cafe Gratitude’s FAQ (because that’s the kind of thing i do for fun. Did I also tell you that i have no friends?) and i read this really interesting question/answer about agave that i feel like you should all read. I thought agave was kinda healthy but apparently it’s really similar to high fructose corn syrup and should only be used in moderation. WHOA. The food industry really fooled us with that one acting like agave was a healthy substitute  (or maybe they just fooled me. Maybe I’m just the idiot) But for real, the food industry is fuckin screwed up, man. As screwed up as Hollywood.

SPREADING THE VEGAN LOVE

Hey my little vegan pumpkins,

So, after my workout today, i stopped by Seeds cafe to get some lunch, and there were a couple of young people handing out pamphlets. As anyone would, you try to avoid them as much as possible because usually they are handing out pamphlets about joining a new religion or getting a free taco or whatever (actually, idk why you would avoid a free taco flier…that was a bad example), but anyways, i couldn‘t escape this one young man’s path and he ever so kindly and peacefully stretched out his hand and gave me a pamphlet. I took it politely and was about to throw it away when he wasn’t looking…. when i looked down and realized that the pamphlet was about encouraging people to go VEGAN! YUP!

They were a group of students spreading the vegan love, urging people to drop their cruel habits and pick up compassionate ones! So awesome. I talked to some of...

CocoKind Review

The lovely people at Cocokind messaged us on Instagram and asked if they could send over some of their products so we of course said yes!!!

With the exception of beeswax in some of their products, all of their products are VEGAN and ALL of their products are CRUELTY-FREE.

They sent us their ceramide serum, rosewater toner, oil to milk cleanser, daily SPF, eye cream, and moisturizer!

I can’t wait to try all their products!! The only product I have tried from them is their matcha moisture stick which I really liked. Can’t wait to dig into all these new products! Anybody who knows me, knows I’m a total hoe for vegan/cruelty-free skincare.

If you are interested in shopping for Cocokind products, check out their website here.

Body Blendz Review

Cute, vegan, cruelty-free skincare??? SIGN ME THE F**K UP!!!

This adorable skincare company called Body Blendz reached out to my sister and me via Tik Tok to see if we could review some of their products in exchange for a Tik Tok using the products. We love supporting vegan companies, som of course, we said yes!

Within no time, they shipped us four of their sample products: a lip balm, a lip scrub, an exfoliating body mask, and body oil. Not only were the products SO aesthetic (because let’s be real, half of skincare’s appeal is the aesthetic – just ask Kylie Jenner), but the products themselves were so fantastic. The scrub was INSANELY amazing and the oil was also incredible, the twi leaving my skin feeling oh-so silky smooth.

Quick disclaimer: The Glacial Dip Body Glow Exfoliating Hydrator got a little beat up on the ride over, which is why it looks funky. Don’t judge a book by...

Osenia Sea Salt Spray Texturizer Review + Discount Code!

Hey, all you beach boys and girls and non-gender-conforming babes! We got a new product review for you all that’s going to make you feel like you’re dipping your toes in the frothy waves of Bora Bora.

Osensia, a vegan hair care company, reached out to us through our Instagram (@the_cohen_twins) and asked us to review one of their hair products for a review. We love supporting vegan companies so we said HELLZ YA!

So they sent us their Sea Salt Spray Texturizer, which is a natural sea salt spray with kelp extract for your hair.

It smells amazing and made my hair feel silky soft and pillowy. If you want something light and refreshing to spritz into your hair after a shower to make you feel like you just got sprayed with sea mist in the French Polynesian, def check this company out!!

Susan Yara’s Naturium Skincare Review

If any of you are avid skincare fans and/or watch YouTube, I’m sure you heard about the most recent skincare scandal: Susan Yara, the skincare “expert” on YouTube, was caught promoting a skincare line to her viewers before disclosing that she was actually part-owner of the company, Naturium. It was a huge thing. People were angry and threatening to sue her. Blah, blah, blah.

Their concerns were valid and I do think the whole thing was shady AF, but at the end of the day, it’s up to the individual to decide what they spend their money on. For example, I spend ridiculous amounts of money on vegan chocolate. That’s my right. Also, I didn’t really care about getting caught up in the drama. I was more so interested in checking out the products of the new line.

Luckily, I found out that all of the products were vegan and/or vegan-friendly (still unsure about the difference between those two),...

Handmade Soap Club Review + Discount Code!

If you are sill using liquid soap, switch over to bar soap! It’s so much more environmentally friendly! My sister and I recently made the switch to bar soap, so when Handmade Soap Club reached out asking if we would be interested in receiving their GET NAKED collection and a discount code for our followers, we were obviously so excited!

Handmade Soap Club is basically a monthly soap delivery service that sells amazing vegan soaps and even sells different collections, like their current GET NAKED collection!

The GET NAKED package was so adorable when it arrived. Each package came with a hand written letter, two satin scrunchies, an ADORABLE pink satin robe that says “Get Naked”, and of course, three DELICIOUS bars of vegan soap.

Their GET NAKED collection launched officially today (7/20) so if you guys are interested in receiving a package like this, use our code ‘COHEN TWINS’...

Olaplex Review (Vegan Hair Products)

Thank you so much to Olaplex for sending us over so many goodies! We really appreciate when brands reach out to collaborate with us and we never take any of these opportunities for granted. It’s actually crazy beacuse before the Olaplex Tik Tok team even reached out to us to send us some of their products, a stylist had told me to order Olaplex! So when they reached out, I was so excited! My sister had even been using their products before they even reached out. So this review IS the real deal.

What I love about Olaplex is that they are totally vegan and their products are all about strengthening hair and restoring hair. If anybody knows anything about me, it’s that I’ve been struggling with hair thinning and hair loss for the past year. So Olaplex is definitely a life saver for me.

They have a few different products that you are supposed to use in a specific order and they all smell and feel...

Black Owned Businesses (with vegan options!)

As you all know, we are going through a really powerful and difficult time in the world right now. The pandemic and also the Black Lives Matter movement. If you are wondering why we haven’t posted anything about it on this blog, it was because we were waiting for this exact blog post to be ready.

My sister and I fully support the Black Lives Matter movement. And if you don’t support racial equality, please stop reading our blog. Thanks bye!

It can be really overwhelming to find ways to make a difference during this time, but as a white person, I must educate myself, listen, donate to organizations that support racial equality, sign relevant petitions, go to protests, and support Black owned businesses as well as Black artists and Black voices.

My sister, my friend Monica, and I decided to do a little gift exchange where we had to buy each other two gifts each from different Black owned...

I Won a Free Month Supply of Owyn Protein Shakes!!!

YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!!!! I won! I really won!

For those of you unfamiliar with the brand Owyn, they have a line of plant-based protein shakes that come in all sorts of fun flavors like: Cookies & cream, coffee latte, strawberry banana, dark chocolate, and vanilla.

My sister and I have been obsessed with them lately after discovering them off the shelves of Erewon, so when they put a contest up on their Instagram page to win a free month’s supply of shakes, I just had to apply. The rules to enter the competition were simple: Upload a video of you lip-synching to a song using an Owyn protein shake bottle as a microphone.

As embarrassing as that sounded to put a video of myself lip-synching with a protein shake on the internet, I remembered who I truly was on the inside: a hoe for free vegan food. So I uploaded that shit in seconds and waited to see if I won. In the end, only 3 people applied...

Hanami Body Lotion Review

My sister Bella is a skincare hoe queen and got me hooked on applying/luxuriously-lathering body lotion on my body every time after I get out of the shower. I was previously really into Kylie Skin’s coconut body lotion, but that damn pump broke literally every single time I used it, so I had to move on from my beloved coconut cream and find another vegan lotion.

After some deep digging on the dark web, I finally found this Hanami plant-based body lotion from Credo. For those of you who don’t know what Credo is, it’s like a Sephora for all clean products, and most of them are also plant-based which is great. Link to Credo if you want to check it out: https://credobeauty.com

The reviews were good. My skin was dry. I didn’t take a further moment to debate. Click. Add to cart. Check out.

A few days later, the cream came and I couldn’t wait to dive in… but...

Vegan/CrueltyFree Morning and Night Routine

So if you guys didn’t know this by now, I’m a TOTAL skincare junkie. I’m obsessed with anything and everything skincare related. I think it’s because I had super bad acne as a kid and never really got to experiment with different products, but since going on Accutane four years ago, my skin has cleared up for the most part and now I get to experiment with all these different products. I still get breakouts, especially during my period because I didn’t finish the full dose of Accutane, but here are a list of products I use in the morning and at night! I hope they help you too. I found that my skin responds really well to products with aloe vera, witch hazel, and hyaluronic acid and responds poorly to products with too much oil.

Morning routine:
– Dr. Dennis Gross All-In-One Cleanser with Toner

– Pixie Glow Tonic

– 100% Vitamin C Serum

– Dr. Dennis Gross...

Vegan Products for Damaged Hair

Here’s a fun fact for all you cuties out there: the water in your pipes is different based on where you live. So basically, Southern California (compared to New York) water sucks my nuts and, according to my hair colorist, it is turning my hair brittle, dry, and, wait for it, GREEN. Yes, you heard that. Green. As a proud flonde (fake-blonde), my highlighted hair is very porous and, therefore, absorbs all the minerals and gunk in LA’s shitty water making my blonde hair literally yellow/green.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m super grateful to have water safe enough to drink as I know places like Flint, Michigan and other countries don’t have access to clean water at all. LA’s water is safe to drink. It’s just not great for your hair. So, I thought I’d do y’all a solid and let you know which products have been helping heal my hair and get rid of the green/brassiness from my once pristine...

Dr. Gross Vegan Collagen Setting Spray

I know everything you hear or read about is corona-centered, so I thought I’d take your minds off of that for a second and refocus your brain onto the world of self-care. In a time like this (where shit is certified cray cray), it’s important to take a step back and care for yourself.

So, before I start, yes, it is ok to spend some #cashmoney (if you have some to spare) and do a little online shopping to treat yourself. Anxiety and depression can be triggered in extreme isolation and, as social creatures, we have to find little things to keep us busy and distracted: hence, retail therapy.

One of the most recent self-care items I invested in (I say invested and not bought because your skincare is an investment!!), is this Dr. Gross vegan collagen setting spray & mist. As you all know, I stan King Gross (he was my dermatologist back in NYC) and love most of his products, so, as expected, this one did...

Hello Hemp Seed and Coconut Oil Toothpaste Review

Hello! And by that, I mean, yes, hello, how are you? It’s been a while! But I also mean, “hello” as in the brand. What is Hello? It is a naturally-friendly toothpaste and mouthwash company that is vegan and none of their products are tested on animals. Can we get a what-what! How awesome is that??

So, I recently tried out their hemp seed oil and coconut oil fluoride-free toothpaste. As interesting as it sounds, I didn’t pick it out myself. It was given to me in a goody-bag at a blogger event my sister and I got invited to (#subtleflex #arewepopularyet? #loveme). TBH, I usually use Tom’s toothpaste because it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and has fluoride and, as someone who grew up with a shit ton of cavities, I’m pretty hesitant about not using fluoride in my paste. But, as always, I was willing to give the product a try.

For starters, I really appreciate the brand for what they’re...

Bawdy Butt Sheet Masks Review

Face masks are uber trendy right now. So are butts. What do those have in common? Pretty much nothing… until now. A skincare company, Bawdy, just came out with a line of plant-based collagen butt sheet masks. Yes, you read that correctly. They are sheet masks… for your badonkadonk.

My sister and I were given these for free at an event and thought we’d try them out for you guys! I mean, why not pamper your tush?? Wow, I actually dispise the word “tush.” Anyway, the masks come in three different flavors (?):  the SLAP IT- a caffeine butt mask mask for retexturizing and detoxifying, the SQUEEZE IT- a citrus butt mask meant for brightening and rejyvenating, and the BITE IT- a plant-based collagen butt mask for hydrating and toning.

The packaging is clearly adorable… but I’m not sure the reality of the product is.

I tried the BITE IT and Bella, my sis, tried...

Province Apothocary Products Review

Is it just me or do you think of Romeo and Juliet every time you see the word apothecary? I remember reading the scene in R & J where Romeo goes to the apothecary to buy poison and I remember being like, “what in the world is an apothecary?? They have designated people who just brew up poison potions for people??” Turns out, apothecaries just sell medicine… and drugs. So, essentially, apothecaries are drug dealers. Romeo Montague had a drug dealer, ladies and gents. Let that soak in.

Speaking of soaking in, let’s stop talking about drugs and start talking about great skincare products that effectively moisturize and soak into your face! That was a bad transition, but let’s just roll with it. Bella and I were fortunate enough to attend a health and wellness event today, which featured the amazing vegan skincare brand: Province Apothecary. The founder of the company came to speak about her products and...

Sakara Life Products Review

Sakara Life. Anyone heard of them before? Well, the name is cool and my Instagram account was literally shoving Sakara Life adds down my throat, so I decided it was a sign from the universe that I just HAD to try their products.

For those of you who don’t know what Sakara is, it’s a vegan, organic meal delivery service that also sells trendy health and wellness products. Although I didn’t try their meal delivery service (it looks dank though, so maybe I’ll review it in the future), I decided to test the waters of the brand and check out some of their products.

The products that caught my eye, in particular, were the beauty chocolates (which are chock-full of their award-winning vegan collagen) and the beauty/detox water drops. The water droplets are supposed to be added to your morning and nightly glass of waters (beauty in the morning, detox at night). The beauty drops are filled with 72 trace minerals...

Nature Talk Skincare Products

HEY GUYS. You know what’s cool about running a blog like this? Getting to tell people you run a blog! Lol just kidding. It’s connecting with cool companies that want to share their mission (and products #winning) with you! That brings me to Nature Talk. Nature Talk is an all natural Australian skincare company that has two vegan products (beside from using Manuka honey, which some vegans use and others don’t #VeganDebate).

They were kind enough to send us both their regenerative pomegranate serum as well as their Australian Green Clay/Matcha mask. GUYS, I’m not just saying this because we got these products for free. These products are OUT of this world. Truly such high quality and only made with ingredients I can recognize. In the package, they also sent us a brush and bowl to mix the face mask on (felt like i was giving myself a facial!) They also gave us a headband to make sure none of our luscious locks got in...

Custom Vegan Lipstick at Bite Beauty Lab

Makeup is the biggest trend right now, isn’t it? All the Youtubers and beauty gurus on the internet are all super talented and artistic with their makeup skills, it can leave the rest of us not-as-talented folks feeling left out. Well, fear no further you talent-less vegans! You can rise to the beauty guru’s level and not only find the PERFECT shade of lipstick for your face but MAKE it yourself.

Yes, you heard that right. Bite Beauty Lab in LA (there also might be one in NY) lets you make your own freaking lipstick shades, which includes picking the color, finish, flavor, and name for your individually designed tube. How sick is that?

Our vegan little sister (shoutout to Leila lol) bought my sister and I each a gift card to the Bite Beauty Bar for our birthday, which allowed us to use their Bespoke service- making two individual custom lipsticks.

I know some of you are like… makeup?...

Petit Vour Review

Hey guys!! What is up my friends? (Friend singular? I’m pretty sure only one person reads this blog. And it’s either my friend Je’lyn or her mom. Hi guys!)

Petit Vour is a beauty box/subscription service that is all cruelty free & vegan and is curated by women (*queens because all women are queens)! Each box has new products which is exciting because it feels like your birthday every single month! What’s nice about this subscription service is that finding vegan/CF products is extremely difficult and Petit Vour makes it seriously effortless (And also I should mention the box is the cutest color of pink)

They were kind enough to send us a box and my sister and I had so much fun doing a live unboxing on Instagram. All of the products were super cute! If I did have to say one bad thing, I would say that the box only comes with five mini products BUT for the price of $18 dollars, it’s...

Earth Hero + 10% discount code!

Do you love the environment? Do you want to help save it from global warming? (If you’re answer is no, please stop reading our blog LOL) (Just kidding, we love you all. But seriously, go check yourself before you wreck yourself)

WELL change starts with the (wo)man in the mirror. Change starts within. And I know sometimes it’s hard to recycle or buy things in glass jars instead of plastic, but we have good news for you… you don’t have to do this alone. Earth Hero has got your back!!! Earth Hero is an online eco-friendly market place with all types of sustainable products, all the way from clothes to tupperware!! My sister and I bought a stainless steel container as well as some bamboo silverware. And let me tell you, I can’t explain why and I promise I’m not saying this because we collaborated with Earth Hero, BUT I absolutely love their products.

The tupperware is sleek and simple, perfect to...

That Booty Tho Booty Scrub Review

I don’t want none unless you got buns, hun! (Lol Grammarly just tried to make sense of that sentence and failed.)

Anyway, yes, my twinny and I finally tried the raved about, uber-publicized booty scrub that I keep seeing all over my Instagram feed. As you may or may not know, my sister and I are 1/2 Puerto Rican, so we’ve had butts WAYYYYY before they were cool. Like, we had butts even when they were uncool. You know, back when being stick thin with no curves was the shit.

Now that butts are back in style, I can confidently say “I was on that trend before all of you people!! So suck on that!”

To further remain on top of this booty trend, I had to try this booty scrub. Yes, this scrub is 100% vegan. It’s a walnut shell based scrub and it’s made with walnut shells (duh), aloe, water, lavender flower, vitamin E, sunflower oil, and other vegan goodies!

It...

Fountain of Youth Skincare

Guys… raise your hand if you’re afraid to get acne or age? *raises hand*. I love old people, don’t get me wrong, I’m just… a woman….and woman are scared of aging the second they leave the womb #Womanhood! #wahoo!

Well have no fear, because not only does Fountain of Youth have products that fight acne and anti-aging, BUT all of their products are 100% vegan and organic!!! I KNOW.

They were kind enough to send us there dream serum and their blueberry acai masque. The blueberry mask smells soooo nice. It literally smells like you are rubbing acai on your face. It’s #lit. My friends and I tried the mask first and then applied the serum. Our faces not only felt super soft, but also incredibly tight.

SO if you’re ever feeling really tired and saggy and droopy (#LOLME #ALLTHETIME), then deff check out these products! Perfect for after those...

Vegan Body Acne Spray

Raise your hand if you’ve ever gotten acne anywhere other than your face? *most people raise their hands*. And I’m talking neck, butt, chest, etc. We’ve all been there. And if you haven’t? Well, then uh….. YOU’RE A LUCKY DUCK!! And also, bye.

Anyway, I have been struggling with body acne for a long time, especially when my hormones are acting up, and I found this TreeActive all natural body acne spray. I just started using it, so I think its working? But it’s hard to tell at this point. Anyway, if you are struggling with body acne, deff check this out and give it a go!

Vegan Body Wash

Soooo I was doing my daily  blowing of money on Amazon (I mean who doesn’t???), and I found this really pretty and natural vegan soap from Puracy that was flavored “citrus & sea salt” and I knew I had to order it. It reminded me of waking up in the Italian country side (ala the film Call Me By Your Name) and eating fresh oranges (not peaches #CallmeByYourName) and spending time by the ocean with a hunky dude named Lorenzo or something.

Anyway, I absolutely love it. I’ve been using it ever since it came. It’s so smooth and delicate (can soap be smooth and delicate? you get what I’m saying right?) and it smells so fresh and beautiful and I highly recommend it! Plus it’s made in Austin, Texas and Austin is amazeballs.

Vegan Shower Bomb

Yes, I know, we’ve all heard of bath bombs.

But have you ever heard of a shower bomb?????

While in Texas, my sister and I bought this shower bomb because it seemed like a nifty thing to try. You basically put it in your shower and it fizzes up. It’s supposed to be some form of aromatherapy. I thought this was cool because I DESPISE baths. I couldn’t tell you why. The thought of slipping and sliding around in a tub where you rinse off every day is like the most nauseating thing ever to me. And I absolutely LOVE showers. So I thought this would be baller!

Not going to lie, I didn’t really feel like the shower bomb did anything. It fizzed up which was cool, but I didn’t really smell anything or feel any more relaxed. But it’s possible I didn’t use it correctly? Anyways, check it out if you’re interested! I think you can buy it online!

Vegan Lush Review

Am I the only one who thinks Lush is horribly overrated and overpriced? And no, I don’t think it’s overrated because it’s overpriced. I think it’s overrated because it genuinely sucks, and it being overpriced just makes me hate it more.

appreciate the whole mostly-vegan, natural thing they have going on. I do. I wish I could love it like most people do… but sadly…. I DON’T GET THE CRAZE. Their shit literally sucks.

I got a fairy soap shit bar thing. And it legit had the texture of a rock and smelled like Pepto Bismol. It like “leaked” pink dye and glitter all over my shower too. I ended up throwing it out because….. ?WHAT?

The strawberry shaving cream, I kept. For absolutely no reason. The jar is so inefficient to use while shaving. The shit doesn’t even lather.

IDK MAN. LUSH SUCKS A NUT.

I...

Amazing Vegan Face Products by Pacifica

Guys, you know when you smell a product and you just KNOW it’s going to be amazing?

Ok well that’s what I experienced with Pacifica’s new line of makeup remover, face wash, and moisturizer which they are now selling at Target!!! (It’s pronounced Tarz-shay. Look it up you peasants)

Lol, kidding, but actually these products are bomb and if you are looking for a vegan cruelty-free beauty regime, this might be the one for you! The ones I got were coconut and vanilla flavored and smelled devine. Like why cant my life just always smell like vanilla and coconut? A girl can dream…

Anyway, if you’re interested, check out your local target! Or your non-local target if you really love driving??? LOL

BitchStix Review

Hey guys! I know we’ve already reviewed this product on here, but we loved the message that BitchStix sends so much that we reached out to them for a giveaway for our followers, and they kindly sent us some of their vegan products! For those who follow our instagram, a Bitchstix giveaway will be coming soon!

Not all of their flavors are vegan, but they have two vegan flavors (original and pomegranate) and they are coming out with new vegan flavors soon! The reason I love this brand so much is because, by purchasing this product, you are helping to support victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Not only is this product amazing AND vegan, but it’s also supporting a good cause. If that’s not enough to make you want to buy it, I don’t know what is! Please go check this brand out. It’s important to support companies who aim to make a difference!

Customizable Vegan Shampoo and Conditioner

Who doesn’t love customizable shit?? When I get anything customized, I feel like a beautiful and unique little snowflake (Ala Fight Club’s “You are not special. You’re not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You’re the same decaying organic matter as everything else”).

Well, thanks to Function of Beauty, everybody gets to be a beautiful and unique little snowflake! This brand makes all natural personalized shampoo and conditioner! All you have to do is take a quiz and VOILA! You get to pick the color, size, scent, properties, hair goals, etc. Every bottle is unique to the person who ordered them, and you even get to name your formula! How awesome!?

I wanted mine to be pink and purple (or was it blue?), essential oil scented, and some of the goals I put down were “colored hair protectant” “frizz control” “repair split ends” and two others I can’t...

Vegan Shampoo and Conditioner

Yes, being vegan is all fun and games, easy peasy lemon squeezy, when it comes to the food. We retain our morals and stand by our beliefs. BUTTTT when it comes to beauty products… that’s when we shrug and say “Well, I mean… I don’t have to be a perfect vegan… right?”

THOSE DAYS ARE LONG BEHIND ME. I had been using Dove body soap and Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner my entire life. I figured, well, I’m vegan for the most part, so it doesn’t matter. But IT DOES. These products test on animals!!! Just because you aren’t eating them, doesn’t mean you aren’t still contributing to their pain!! Of course, veganism is all about baby steps, so don’t stress yourself out! BUT, if you are looking for some cruelty-free vegan shampoo and conditioner, here you go!

Maui Moisture is all vegan and natural. The vanilla bean makes my hair...

PACIFICA Vegan Lip Balm Review

So the wonderful, beautiful, lovely people at Pacifica Beauty were kind enough to send my sister and I a few new samples of their lip balms!

First of all, the flavors are so YUMMY. Second of all, no I did not eat the balm. I simply tasted it… whatever. Either way the flavors are cute and smell devine! One of them is Indian Chai (drool) and another one of my favorites is the lemon-sugar scrub which has little bits of sugar in the balm to exfoliate those chapped lips of yours (Shout-out to my bae Napolean Dynamite).

Anyway, pictured below are all the chapsticks. They run super smooth and feel really nice on my lips.

As always, this is not sponsored so y’all know I ain’t lying LOL so heck them out if you’re looking for vegan, cruelty free lip balm alternative to Burt’s Bees Balm (which used beeswax in their formula FYI).

Thanks for the balms Pacifica!...

Vegan Hand Sanitizer

Raise your hand if you’re a germ freak and a hypochondriac like me?

No? Nobody? I’m the only crazy person in the room?

WELL, regardless of the status of your sanity, if you are looking for a vegan hand sanitizer, check this one out! Pretty sure they sell it at Whole Foods. This brand also makes other products, like a french lavender hand soap I’ve been using and loving. Wow I must be old if I’m “using and loving” my french lavender hand soap. I swear my life is more exciting than french lavender hand soap. (But is it tho???)

I’m pretty sure this company is also very environmentally aware. Very cool company. Check em out homies

Vegan Dish Soap

Hey guys, if you are vegan and looking for some vegan dish soap pods or vegan liquid dish soap that is also environmentally cautious, you have come to the right place! But if that’s not what you were looking for….stay, don’t leave. Please, I don’t want to be alone.

LOL KIDDING. But seriously, here are the dish soaps I use. I like the liquid one because it also doubles as hand soap and the bottle is made from recovered ocean plastic. But if you have a dish washer, LIKE MOI, then the pods are cool too. And if you don’t have a dish washer…. then you have my condolences.

Vegan Beauty Products

My sister and I decided to put together a little list (with pics) about the “beauty” (more like hygiene) products we use on a daily basis that are either vegan, not tested on animals, or natural (or all three! #jackpot). We cannot guarentee all of these are 100% vegan as we are still making the transition from using mainstream brands to using vegan beauty/hygiene products, but here is at least a starting point for some people looking to ease into the transition (don’t judge me, I’m trying! #gosh #FukDaH8terz).

Face care: We use Dr. Gross products. Dr.Dennis Gross actually happens to be our dermatologist in NYC (lol), but he also sells his face care products nationwide in Sephora stores. Granted, the products are expensive, but they are great quality, as well as vegan and not tested on animals so wahoo!

Glossier Review

Did someone mention an incredibly trendy, cruelty free makeup line?!?!?

NO. BUT I JUST DID.

Dear stranger (or friend?), I introduce you to Glossier.

If you don’t already know Glossier, maybe you should get on the trend train at the next stop, because you’ve got a lot of catching up to do. (LOL JK. I learned about Glossier like a month ago while buying vegan cookies #priorities)

This makeup line is super cute and aesthetically pleasing. To top things off, Glossier has partnered with Momofuku Milk Bar (which, if you also don’t know what that is, I will legit BUY you a ticket on the trend train cuz…. GURL) and they made a cake flavored lip balm. GUYS… it tastes and smells like candy and cake and dessert and deliciousness….

….and it SPARKLES.

Buy dis shit.

Vegan/Feminist Chapstick: BITCHSTIX

So gals and guys, as you all know, I’m feminist as FUCK. Sorry for the profanity kiddos. Anyway, I was shopping at this awesome store called Kyle in Beverly Hills because they had all this Wonder Woman merch (#gurlpower) and I stumbled upon something not only feminist but VEGAN.

OMGEE my worlds are colliding. Bitchstix (lol at the name because I’m totally a #bitchstix while PMSing) is a chapstick company that not only has a vegan pomegranate flavor (with spf!! Save yo skin baes) BUT it also helps sexual assult and domestic abuse victims.

Now I don’t know about you all, but something that’s vegan, helps women, AND has SPF sounds pretty darn awesome to me!

I have yet to test it out because my lips aint that chapped yet (haven’t reached that Napolean Dynamite level yet), but whether or not it’s good or bad (I think it’s safe to assume it’ll be great) I’m...

Vegan Liquid Lipstick – Kylie Lip Kit review

HEY GUYS. If you know anything about me, you know that I’m a total basic betch and I have NO shame about it.

I decided to make a post on Kylie Lip Kit because its 1. Vegan/Not Tested on Animals  2. Everybody keeps asking about my lipstick whenever I wear it.

The two colors I have are Pumpkin and Mary Jo K. I’m pretty sure all of the lip kits are vegan except for one (The non-vegan one is called Candy something, I can’t remember)

My favorite color is  the Mary Jo K (the red one). The Pumpkin is a little too dark for my skin tone but I’m still on a mission to find a way to pull it off!! Never give up kids!

What I love about the lip kits is, although pricey, they are totally as great as everybody says they are. They stay on forever (seriously hard to get off), and the only time they came off on accident was when I ate a burger and another time when I was...

Vegan Nail Polish/ Vegan Mani Pedi

HEY GUYS. So I don’t know if you’re like me, but I’m legit always ready for some good relaxation. Whether that means chillen with friends, going on Tumblr, or getting a BOSS ASS MANI PEDI #chiller4life.

I randomly found this nail salon called Sweet Lily Spa in NYC that uses all natural products AND vegan nail polish!! It’s from the brand called Zoya.

Anyway, this place is CUTE AF and RELAXING AF. They play John Mayer and Jack Johnson and give you lemon water and tea and you sit in giant comfy chairs. Plus, there’s only like 5 people in the room at the time so it’s not overwhelming. It’s a bit pricey, but trust me, mental health is something to splurge on every once and a while because sometimes we just need to RELAX.

I got the lavender mani and the  cucumber pedicure, which was one of the best pedicures I’ve ever gotten. Putting your feet in a bucket...

Vegan Makeup Brand

Guess what folk? Sephora sells makeup from an all vegan brand called Cover FX! I haven’t tried it yet but lemme know what you think of it!! (Does anyone else think that makeup is sexist? Like why do girls have to wear makeup?? We aint here to look pretty for you fools- aka men #IHateWearingMakeup #DownWithThePatriarchy lol)

VEGAN BEAUTY PRODUCTS

So guys, a perk of donating to the Super Saturday charity event is getting an entire bag of FREE SHIT!!!! And as you know, I’m quite the lover of free shit. So I thought we’d chare some of the animal-byproduct-free and/or animal-testing-free products in the gift bag!

1. Miss Jessie’s Rapid Recovery Treatment

2. John Master’s Rose and Apricot Milk hair cream

3. Unite 7 seconds leave-in conditioner

4. Eos hand lotion

5. Some chapstick I can’t read  the name from the photo or find in real life right now, so I apologize? Lol. I’ll get back to you guys on that one.

VEGAN HAIR PRODUCT

Yes I know you do not eat hair products, however, animals testing is a thing. A very bad thing. Well, people, especially with crazy curly afros (LIKE US), have no fear because, not only did I find a product that is vegan (no animal testing) but it works like magic!  I use to wear my hair in a ponytail all the time because there was legit no other way to tame it #ICantBeTamed , but because of Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls, I wear my hair down EVERY SINGLE DAY. I know. I never thought this day would happen.

So thank you Miss Jessie, for helping me look more like a normal person every single day. GO BUY THIS PRODUCT NOW (especially if you have crazy curly hair). Legit, Miss Jessie’s should pay me for how much I advertise this product. I’ve gotten all my friends to buy it too. It works WONDERS. It turns crazy curls into beach waves. So awesome. So amazing....

THATVEGANLIFEDOE MERCHANDISE/ THANKS ALLIE!!!!

Ok, so Bella and i have been meaning to get a start on the ThatVeganLifeDoe Merchandising but one my fabulous best friends beat us to it!!! (That weenie….JK seriously obssesed with her gift)

For our birthday she was the sweetest gal in the world and custom made my sister and I ThatVeganLifeDoe canvas bags!!! Can anyone say “in love”??? (Lol tho, seriously can you? Because if you can’t, you might possibly have 99 problems and I kinda feel like a bitch aint one)

Anyway, if any of you loyal followers (Shoutout to my grandma and my best friend’s mom!) are interested in ThatVeganLifeDoe merchandise, comment below! I mean, its always about the spreading the vegan love, but sometime it’s about makin a livin. Gotta make it rain boyz.

Anyway, thanks Allie (Alisicone) Conn. You DA BOMB.

...

VEGAN GIFT IDEA/ THANKS CHRISTINA!

So, I honestly have the best friends in the world and I thought you should know. If ya think your friends are better, think again fellas! Do your friends buy you an entire box of twelve customized vegan red velvet sprinkles cupcakes for your birthday??? Huh? What’s that you say? NO?!? Yeah, thas what I thought.

Anyway that’s beside the point. My friend Xtina sent us a box of vegan sprinkles cupcakes to our dorm and it was the sweetest thing ever (Pun intended aight). We ate a bunch then ventured onto other floors and delivered them to people like girl scouts (minus the thin mints, the pig tails, and the cute factor, ya know?) We were just a couple of awkward 19 yr olds creepily offering people cupcakes. But I mean, when are we not being creepy?

For those of you who don’t know about Sprinkles, they are a bomb cupcake place that sells vegan red velvet cupcakes (Which are bomb dig) and can deliver straight to your door so...

THANKS SONIA AND MARCIA!

Among other cute little gifts, out family friends Sonia and Marcia were also thoughtful enough to get us vegan makeup brushes. (<– sorry, the grammar was really off in that sentence). Anyways, how sweet! 🙂

Vegan Birthday Gift Idea

okay, so no. It was not my birthday. And it won’t be for another month and half (Feb 14th! V-day holla!!! Feel free to send me vegan goodies virtually or telepathically because giving out my adress on the web is probs not a good idea lol #stalkme)

Anyway, since our bestie Catherine is going to college tm and won’t see us until May #CRAZAY she kindly gave us our birthday gift now. So for those of you readers and bloggers (Hello? Anyone out there?) who need an idea for a vegan friend’s birthday, here ya go suckers!

1. Vegan pastries. You legit can’t go wrong with vegan desserts (Cathy got hers from Le Pain Quotidean)

2. Vegan ice cream and/or sorbet. Again, desserts. Can’t go wrong. (Cathy got Raspeberry Ciao Bello)

3. Something non-vegan related. Readers, this is important. You’re vegan friends want you to acknowledge and support the fact that they are vegan, but they...

VEGAN CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA

Guess what!?!?! Its Christmassssss!!!! hahahah jk christmas was yesterday but who says you can’t celebrate the birth of Jesus ERRRRRYDAY!!!! (Non-christian people that’s who #awks)

Anyway, our good family friends Becca, Brian, and Julie (And their dog Hero) bought Bella and the lil sis and I vegan christmas gifts!

It was such a cute idea. They have us a Christmas mug with candy canes and vegan cookies and breakfast bars and then gift cards to my three FAVE PLACES!!! 1. Starbucks (Because I’m a basic bitch) 2. Whole Foods (Because  what’s not to love about that place) and 3. Subway (Because its friggen subway)

Anyway, there you go. If you were struggling to find a vegan gift for your weird vegan relative, here ya go!

Vegan Christmas Gifts

Soooo coming back from vacay is always a drag…UNLESS ITS CHRISTMAS! For christmas, Olie and I got so many vegan treats from our aunt, uncle, cousin, and cousins girlfriend Pamala (who has a rocking instagram called @lalas_eats so you guys should go follow her). She made us little mini vegan donuts, smores cups, and brownie cups. UM BEST GIFT EVER! And she put them in cute little boxes with cute little name tags and she should open a bakery #justsayin. I mean isn’t “Lala’s Eats” catchy? Anyays, thanks to the fam for the vegan cookbooks and vegan spa box from Vegan Cuts (which i swore i took a picture of but can’t currently find it #awks). LOVE the gift. So thoughtful and I’m so excited to use (AND EAT) everything!!!!

VEGAN BODY SCRUB RECIPE

So, at the place we were staying on vacay they found out we were vegan and guess what? They made us a complimentary vegan body scrub!!! #feelingspecial #loveme #inferioritycomplex

Anyway, they made it with: coconut oil, lavender oil, vanilla extract and brown sugar. Mama C loved it so much, she asked to bottle it up and bring it home because it leaves your skin feeling as soft as a baby’s ass.

Come to think of it, it sounds kinda tasty. Maybe Ill eat some. I mean, it is edible, right?

Anyway, if you’re interested and wanted something to tickle your fancy (Or your other body parts *wink*) here it is bitchessss

VEGAN DERMATOLOGY PRODUCTS

Soooo this post is not about food (cue the crying noises) butttt it’s about something even better…ACNE! YES! (#Jk #AcneSucks #ItNeverGoesAway #TeenagerForever) Sooooo it’s really hard to find quality face products that actually help your acne go away, but my dermatologist Dr. Gross (i know, how ironic?) has an entire line of really good quality products that have helped clear up my acne AND are vegan! He’s one of the best dermatologists in new york city ANNNDDD you can buy his stuff at Sephora. So if you’re a pizza face like me (vegan pizza i guess? #ew #WhyDidIHaveToClarify? #YouGotWhatIMeant) then i highly recommend picking up some of his products (and by picking up, i mean buying, because lesson numero uno, NOTHING in life is free. Not even me #winkwink #jk #TriedToHardWithTheJoke #IRegretIt #IRegretALotOfThings #KBye)

Enjoy my non-union photos of my face products, while i go back to pondering why i’m so basic  Read More >>

Non-vegan Shampoo/Conditioner

Believe it or not fellas, but not all soaps, shampoos, and conditioners are vegan. As i was searching for a good smelling soap and conditioner today (not like the one i have now that makes my hair smell the same as it did before i washed it….i know, not cool), i decided to read the ingredients list and some of the soaps and shampoos have MILK and EGGS! I KNOW. WHAT?! A lot of the Dove soaps have milk in them. #No #whyyyy But i do love Dove liquid soap , so i bought the flavor without milk which was the cucumber fresh or something. As for eggs, Organix uses egg whites in some of their shampoos and even brags about it on the label!! SO make sure to check the ingredients list!

Milk and eggs in our shampoos and conditioners?! What has this world come to?? #no #GoVegan

Vegan Hand Cream

Today at Ricky’s, I bought some Eos hand cream that was cucumber flavored (is the word “Flavor” only used for things you can eat?) Anyway, on the back, it says that it was made with no animal by products. SO YAY. If you’re gonna buy hand creme, you should deff consider this one. Defff. (<— Oh gawd. I’m such a teen using slang like that)

Vegan Chapstick (American Apparel)

Now, I know a bunch of you are like, “Hold up a minute! You can’t eat at a clothing store”. To each their own, but I am not talking about clothing darlings.

American Apparel sells these adorable vegan/raw lip balms that come in literally the trendiest flavors ever, get ready for this:

1. Chai Spice

2. Green Tea

3. Black Cherry

It was love at first sight and I bought all three.

Also…I saw a sign in the store that said their clothes were sweat shop free. Now, I know that’s not technically “vegan” but don’t we support all living being’s freedom? Okay, maybe not mosquitos but you catch my drift.

Vegan Cookbook

Check out Chloe’s vegan cookbook! My aunt got this for me as a Easter gift. Cool right!? This book has delicious recipes and the ingredients are all easy and simple (unlike other cookbooks that ask for arrowroot, flax eggs, dates, pastry flower,  xanthum gum and hsfbdsdfkdfjs)

Im guessing you notice my frustration….anways, check it all yalllll!

Alsooooooo, she has a BOSS-ASS new restaurant in the Greenwich Village you MUST GOT TO!

Vegan Lindt Chocolate Review

All my childhood dreams have just come true ??

I’m not even kidding. I have distinct memories of going to Barnes & Noble as a kid, like the little nerd I  was, and my mom only allowed me to get one Lindt chocolate ball at the checkout register. So I savored it so freaking hard as if it were literal caviar. Because I ate them so rarely, I thought they were expensive, but they’re lowkey not.

Not only are they affordable despite how fancy the commercials look, but they now have VEGAN OPTIONS. Yes, you heard that right. VEGAN OPTIONS. They offer two (that I’m aware of): an oat-based milk chocolate and an oat-based dark chocolate.

We tried the oat-based milk chocolate one. They were just as smooth and creamy and delicious as I remembered. So suck on that Mom! I can eat as many of them as I want now! My past nerd-self would be so jealous.

(also for those wondering,...

Mavericks Cookies Review

Y’all know I’m a hoe for vegan snacks… but vegan cookies?? I’m on my knees.

To my excitement, I was scrolling on VegNews the other day like a vegan nerd and saw this new company called Mavericks that makes vegan cookies with 40% less sugar for kids. I know they’re for kids, but you know what they always say! Age is just a number, honey! So I went online and, within seconds, had these cookies shipping their little butts to my house.

I got all the flavors (because, duh): chocolate chip, birthday cake, and double chocolate.

Verdict: they are super yummy! They kind of remind me of Annie’s cookie bunnies (you know which ones I’m talking about), but thicker and bigger. Even though the box says less sugar, they are sweet enough that you wouldn’t be able to tell. So...

Chilitos Vegan Options Review

Chilitos: Dulces y Chamoy reached out to us to send us some of their vegan chamoy candy options so we, of course, said YES! First of all, how cool that they have vegan options?! Second of all, how sweet of them to send us their products!?

They sent us two mixes: Mango Sourpatch Combo + Classico Rainbow Gushers. The sour patch combo has a mix of regular sour patch kids and watermelon sour patch kids. And the rainbow mix has a mix of gushers (which we just learned were vegan!! I KNOW) and skittles! Taste the rainbow, bitches!

The chamoy was the perfect mix of spicy and sweet and really balanced out the sweetness of the candy. The watermelon sour patch was such a nice touch amidst the regular sour patch. My favorite were the skittles (DELECTABLE) and my sister’s favorite were the gushers!! But all of...

The Better Bagel Review

By now, I’m pretty sure you’ve all been spammed with ads or sponsored posts about The Better Bagel. If you haven’t, congrats! You’ve escaped the endless clutch of social media! If not, then you know the brand and are familiar with what their schtick is.

The Better Bagel is a new premium bagel brand (around $25 for 4 bagels!!) that is vegan, 180 calories per bagel, and has a SHIT TON of protein in each one. I’m talking, like, 26 grams of protein.

After seeing so many ads for it, I just had to try this bagel. After all, it is better, right?

(Also, I’m aware of the donut butthole in the pic below lmao. NC17)

Well, here are my thoughts: For all intents and purposes, it tastes like a bagel. However, the inside is almost cakey/spongey/fluffy. Not exactly sure how to describe it. It doesn’t feel carby and doughy like a good NY bagel...

Vegan Pink Panda Candy Review

As the queen of candy, I am shocked, appalled, flabergasted, shooketh to my core that I had never heard of the candy brand Pink Panda until. And to be honest, I can’t even take credit for discovering it.

I was in a 2021 Secret Santa group when I received (and became aware of) Pink Panda candy, which was gifted to me by my nameless Santa gifter. Not only is Pink Panda vegan, but each bag is 90 calories and only 2 grams of sugar! What in the Smart Sweets is this?! Jk, it’s not from Smart Sweets, but it does give them a run for their money.

Final verdict: I love them, especially if you throw them in the freezer & they get even more chewy! For any vegans out there looking for a low-sugar candy alternative, I dare to say I like these better than Smart Sweets. I DARE TO SAY!

This is their website. Enjoy!

Vegan Options at Bon Bon (A Swedish Candy Co.)

If you know me, then you know I’m obsessed with candy. If you don’t know me, well, nice to meet you. I’m Olivia, a very small but feisty young woman. Ok, that’s beside the point. Back to the topic at hand: candy. Bottom line, I’m obsessed with it.

However, as you vegans all know, vegan candy is hard to come by because most of it is made with freakin crushed cow and pig hooves aka gelatin. Curse you gelatin! So gross…

So, you can imagine my surprise when I was scrolling through this Swedish candy company called Bon Bon’s website (it’s located in NY I believe) when I saw they offered a VEGAN PICK & MIX. I almost died and went to heaven.

Of course, I had to buy a full bag of it. I mean… I’m a simple person! When I see vegan candy, I buy it.

The candy arrived in the cutest little pink bag and had such a cool assortment...

Misfits Vegan Protein Bar Review

I’m obsessed with protein bars. I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc. Why? Because they’re basically candy bars that have a shit ton of protein in them. What more could you ask for?

Well, as an 8+ year-long vegan, I’ve had my fair share of protein bars from Nugo Bars to Cliff Bars, to Square Bars, the list goes on. However, it seems like the newest vegan bar to hit the shelves is the Misfits bar, which comes in a bunch of different flavors.

I’ve seen these all over Tik Tok (along with a mixed bag of reviews), so I thought I’d order them to finally try them for myself. I ended up ordering a box of the Chocolate Caramel flavor.

My review: I really like them! My sister thinks they tasted like cardboard and I’ve heard a similar review online, but I don’t understand how! They are coated in chocolate, have a basic protein bar base with little...

Nick’s Vegan Ice Cream Review

Is anyone as obsessed with vegan Halo Top ice cream as I am? On that note, is anyone also ALWAYS mad because the vegan flavors always seem to be harder to find than my virginity after I lost it?

Well, to all you frazzled Halo Top lovers, I have a plan B to offer you: Nick’s ice cream. Nick’s is a new ice cream brand that has an entire line of vegan ice creams that are similar to Halo Top in the way that they are super low in calories, but super yummy.

I was hella craving ice cream and wanted to give it a try, so I ordered a bunch of flavors on their website: double chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnut fudge, peanut butter fudge, strawberry, and mint chocolate chip. They were pretty expensive (around $60 in total) but I’m an utter ho for trying new vegan products, so I bit the bullet and ordered them. Right now, you can only order online BUT they do arrive ice cold due to the dry...

Vegan RX Bar Review

RX BARS NOW HAVE VEGAN OPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGEEE BRB gonna go scream in joy for an hour!!

For those of you who don’t know what RX bars are, they are the trendy pastel blue and pink minimalist-designed bars you see in, like, every grocery store. They’re the bar you want on you as literal accessories. But, as cute as they were, I could never get them because they had eggs in them. Yep, chicken periods.

However, the company recently decided to cater to all the vegan angels in the world and came out with two new vegan flavors!! I do have to say, I was a little disappointed in the packaging because instead of their iconic pastel colors, it came in this moss green and brown color. I know beggars can’t be choosers, but, like, cmon! Let’s make vegan food cute too!

Their two new flavors are peanut butter and chocolate chip. I got the chocolate chip flavor. My thoughts: they are ok! A little...

The Vegan Kind – UK Vegan Subscription Box Review

Hey vegans! Have you ever just wanted to do one of those foreign country snack subscription boxes, but knew you never could because 99% of all the products wouldn’t be vegan? Honestly same and it made me lowkey sad. That was, until, popular vegan YouTuber Lauren Toyota introduced me to The Vegan Kind. Not personally introduced me. I’m not that cool. She just mentioned it on her YouTube channel lol.

So The Vegan Kind is a popular UK vegan subscription box where you can get vegan snacks from England shipped to you monthly OR you can do what I did, which was shop their vegan market and customize your own box.

I actually studied abroad in London back in 2017, so it was awesome to get to order some of my favorite UK treats, as well as some new ones I had never heard of. My indecisive ass ended up getting a bunch of things, so I’m going to list out the names below and whether or not I would order again.

Tik Tok Pasta Review – Fiber Gourmet Pasta

Do I buy every vegan thing I see off of Tik Tok? Absolutely. Will I ever stop? Nope.

I recently saw this Tik Tok about this high fiber, low calories pasta from a company called Fiber Gourmet. As someone who loves pasta, I just had to try it. I ran, legit ran, to my computer and looked it up. Lo and behold, the Lord was looking out for me because all their pasta was vegan. Not to mention, sold out. The only one available was the “elbows.” Lucky for me, I don’t discriminate against pasta shapes and ordered like six bags of it. Not even kidding. Wish I was.

I tried it the other day and OMGEE. It’s amazing. It tastes exactly like regular pasta (suspiciously so…), but the whole bag (which was at least 3 meal servings) was only 400 calories.

What witchcraft is this!?

I made a Tik Tok about it, so if you want to check it out (and...

Good! Snacks Vegan Protein Bar Review

If I see someone eating something good, I immediately have to have it. It’s a weakness, I know. One of my favorite vegan Youtubers Vegan Bodega Cat is always eating these protein bars from Good! Snacks, which are vegan (obviously), but I had never seen or heard of them before her. So, after seeing them so many times, I decided to just bite the bullet and order a variety pack online. The pack came with four flavors: peanut butter chocolate,  birthday, lemon, and cookie.

I got the chance to try all of them and here’s what I thought. They were all right! I enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate and cookie flavors and would definitely grab one of those in a store if I were hungry and saw it on a shelf. But lemon and birthday… I’m sorry, but it’s a no from me. They tasted a little too artificial for my liking. Plus, I tend to enjoy chocolate protein bars over other flavors anyway.

FYI: They are pretty...

Vegan Freeze Dried Candy

Space food is back, y’all, and I’M HERE FOR IT. I was obsessed with space ice cream as a kid and literally preferred it to regular ice cream because I’m a weirdo. Luckily, Tik Tok has brought back the freeze dried trend, but this time – it’s for candy. I saw so many videos trying all these freeze dried candies that I just had to hop onto Etsy and see if they had any vegan options.

To be honest, it was a bit tricky to find vegan options because so many of the candies that were freeze dried were non vegan, like taffy and gummy worms, etc. BUT many of them did have skittles so I just chose a company at random – Wicked Good – and ordered those.

Verdict: So weird, but so yummy! It almost tasted like sweet and tart captain crunch. Also, somehow they are sweeter than regular skittles, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth, this one is definitely note for you.

Also,...

Vegan Rugelach!!!

I’m pretty sure one of the seven wonders of the world is rugelach. Don’t quote me on that, but I’m 99% sure of it. What is rugelach, you non-Jewish people ask? Well, it’s only the most amazing Jewish dessert to ever exist in the galaxy. It’s like a little cinnamon roll, but flaky and sugary and dry, not wet. Yes, I also hate the word wet. We digress…

Anyway, when I was a kid, my best friend’s mom would always buy us dozens of rugelach as an after-school snack, and my sister and I would DOWN them in seconds. But after I went vegan, I sort of came to the peace with the fact that I would never have these delicious morsels again… until I found Lilly’s Baking Company.

Lilly’s in a bakery that sells their goods through whole foods, their website, and other markets. They aren’t 100% vegan, but do have great vegan options like this one! I tried the vegan cinnamon rugelach...

Misaky Tokyo Crystal Treats Review

Before I start the review, I want everyone and their mothers (or fathers, we don’t discriminate!) to go check out this small business on Tik Tok, Instagram, and their website: https://misaky.tokyo

We, as vegans, have to support small vegan companies, especially in times like these!! Ok, now that you checked them out, let me tell you a little more information about this product.

Misaky Tokyo is a small Japanese candy (crystal treat) company that makes seaweed-based sweet candy crystal gems that are all vegan and gluten-free.  But don’t worry, folk, they don’t taste like seaweed. They come in a variety of flavors such as matcha, butterfly pea, yuzu, passion fruit, lavender, and other unique flavors. They were all so delicious in their own way, but my favorite part about this product is the texture.

The outside is crunchy like glass, but the inside...

Smart Sweets New Red Twists and Sourmelon Bites Review

If you are a frequent snacker, but trying to cut back on sugar, then you’re probably aware of the brand Smart Sweets. They are a candy company that specializes in making low-sugar, high-fiber versions of all your favorite candies, such as gummy bears, starbursts, sour patch kids, etc. Not all of their candies are vegan, but a large majority of them are, including the Swedish fish, the starburst, the sour patch kids, the peach rings, and the newly added red twists (knockoff Twizzlers) and sourmelon bites (knockoff watermelon sour patch).

So, my vegan readers, I’m going to be real with you. These candies are great… for what they are. They really don’t taste like any of the original candies they are trying to taste like, but for a low-sugar option, I really enjoy them. I know a lot of people who try Smart Sweets and are ultimately disappointed in the taste or texture, but I think managing your expectations is key when eating “diet”...

Go Nanas Banana Bread Mix Review

So, if you know me, you know that I do all of my shopping these days from Instagram ads and TikTok. Well, this review is for a product I found on TikTok because – let’s be real- I’m a hoe for TikTok. Speaking of TikTok, if you aren’t following my sister and I yet, check us out! Our TT handle is @cohen_twins. We just posted a veganized version of Gigi Hadid’s Tik Tok pasta and we post other vegan toks all the time!

Ok, enough self-promotion, we’re here to talk about banana bread, right? So, Go Nanas is a female-created small business that specializes in all kinds of vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, banana bread mixes, with flavors including chocolate chip, classic, pumpkin spice, crackly banana bread (IDK what this is, but sounds dank!!), and they even have a cookbook!

All you have to do is add a few bananas, some milk, some maple syrup, and some oil into the mix, and VOILA! You have yourself the...

Tropical Fruit Box Review

So idk about you guys, but I LOVE tropical fruit. I’d rather have a lychee over an apple any day. In fact, my favorite fruit is pineapple and if I had to guess, my sister’s fave fruit is passion fruit. Growing up, I also loved piña coladas (virgin of course). So you could say I had a tropical palette!

Well, I found this website called Tropical Fruit Box that is able to ship you a ton of tropical fruits from Florida in the matter of a week!!! Okay, so one of my goals for 2021 is budgeting, BUT I ordered this box in 2020 so it was fair game to blow some cash. I ended up blowing like $160 dollars on a “pick your own fruit” box (ok before you freak out, it was my Christmas present to myself. Some people like Cartier bracelets, I like tropical fruit. Sue me). And the best part about spending this much?! I GOT A FREE PINK PINEAPPLE IN MY ORDER. (Those things sell for $50 a pineapple!!!)

Non-Dairy Swiss Miss Review

Do you know those products that vegans always dream of the day when they will come out with a vegan version of it? Well, Swiss Miss hot chocolate was certainly one of those for me. I legit grew up on these delicious little hot cocoa packets and was unhealthily obsessed with the cute little marshmallows that came with them.

When I found out, after almost eight years of letting go of my Swiss Miss obsession, that the company had come out with a non-dairy version, I legit screamed – so loud, that my neighbors called the cops. I’m kidding. But I was internally screaming, for sure.

Do you want to know what I did next? I jumped onto Amazon and immediately ordered my non-dairy Swiss Miss packets.

My review: It was great! I will say, though, I was pretty disappointed to find out that the non-dairy packets don’t come with the little marshmallows (crying internally because of that); however,...

Wanna Date? Date Spread Review

Wanna date? No, seriously, anyone want to date? Quarantine is getting incredibly lonely and I could really use a cuddle buddy to binge-watch the Great British Bakeoff with… and eat date spread with.

What’s date spread you ask? Well, great question, reader. A new company on the market called “Wanna Date?” has created a whole line of vegan, low-sugar spreads created from, you guessed it, dates.

I actually saw this product for the first time on an Instagram ad (a very targeted one apparently), because the second I saw it, I bought it. They come in all different flavors, but the one I got was the chocolate spread one.

I was hoping it would taste like a less-hazelnutty Nutella, but I was a little disappointed with the flavor. It definitely had a fruity, almost sour, taste to it. Instead of tasting like Nutella, it tasted like a fruit/date spread mixed with some cocoa powder.

Is...

ChocZero Advent Calendar 2020

It’s CHRISTMAS/HANUKKAH/ KWANZA TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! You know what that means? Fuzzy socks, fireplaces, hot cocoa, holidays films, and, most importantly, advent calendars.

Good news for all my little vegan holiday elves out there, ChocZero, the vegan zero-sugar chocolate company, has blessed us with an adorable vegan advent calendar for all the sugar-free (or rather health-inclined) vegans out there!!! I actually found out about this because my bomb-ass twin, Bella-boo, suprised me with one! I mean, how cute is that!?

This is what the advent calendar looks like:

Inside are a variety of holiday shaped chocolates, shaped like Santa, reindeer, snowmen, and gift boxes. The chocolates aren’t filled with anything, but they are solidly-sized and taste amazing!!

If you are low-sugar or just looking for a healthy alternative to other super-sweet advent calendars, I 10/10...

Chile Babe Dulceria Review

I’m not sure about all of you, but when I’m bored AF, I just search #smallbusinesses on TikTok to find things I can buy because retail therapy is a REAL THING, OK!? Leave me alone. (Also, yes I have a shopping problem, sue me).

Anywayyyy, I found this chili candy company called Chili Babe Dulceria that looked amazing, so I just had to try it. For those of you who don’t know what chili candy is, you have my condolences. Chili candy is basically candy on steroids. It’s covered in a chili powder akin to tajin and a sweet/spicy sauce like chamoy and it makes for the most amazing combo of spicy and sweet.

Chili Babe Duceria has a bunch of candy options. They aren’t all vegan, but some are, which is awesome!  I ordered the chili skittles and the chili watermelon sour patch to try.

My review: the skittles were ok! I probably wouldn’t order them again. I thought the seasoning...

Jot Coffee Concentrate Review

You know when people say they have coffee running through their veins? I feel like they mean to say, “I have Jot running through my veins.”

Jot is an instant coffee concentrate that comes in liquid form with a neat little tablespoon to measure the serving size. The tablespoon of coffee concentrate can be poured into water or milk, hot or cold. I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’re hearing of Jot as I’m pretty sure everyone and their mother has seen the Instagram ads for it. I swear I see Jot ads daily lmao.

I was actually about to buy a bottle of Jot but didn’t because I only drink decaf coffee now. (Jot, if you’re reading this, please do decaf!!) However, I was staying at my friend’s apartment in Manhattan and she just so happened to have ordered Jot from Instagram, so we thought we’d break into it and give it a try!

On the first day of using...

Chili Chews Review

Candy is one of my favorite things. Chili seasoning is one of my favorite things. Veganism is one of my favorite things (obvs). So imagine if all three of those things combined to create an epic vegan snack that is so good, you’ll talk to your grandkids about it one day…

Everyone, meet Chili Chews. For those of you who don’t know what Chili Chews are, they are a candy company (“gourmet chili candy company” as they have titled themselves) that combines popular candy brands with their own chili seasoning. If you’re wondering, yes, I did find them on an Instagram ad and, yes, I got suckered into buying them. No, I was not disappointed.

While not every candy at Chili Chews is vegan, they do have a handful of vegan options. Aka: any candy that is generally vegan will most likely be vegan at Chili Chews and vise versa. Ya feel?

I ended up getting the Strawberry Belt...

Smart Sweets Vegan Candy Review

HEYO! If you know anything about me, it’s that I LOVEEEEE sugar. And that’s an understand. But my doctor told me I had to go on a sugar-free diet because of my hormones *cue my tiny violin*. And that’s not to say I cut out ALL sugar. I still eat donuts and cookies and shit whenever I want, I just try to limit sugar. And this sugar free diet only applies to “added” sugars, not natural sugars, so I still be eating fruit on the reg as well as sugar-free options.

Even though it’s not great to eat a TON of fake sugar, it is great to have a treat available when you do have a sweet tooth. That’s where Smart Sweets comes in! Smart Sweets is a brand that makes sugar free candies and FOUR of their candies are entirely plant based. They make low-sugar vegan swedish fish, sour patch kids, peach rings, and starbursts (the starbursts are NASTY but the rest are amazing).

So, if you have to go on a...

The Safe + Fair Food Company Review

You know how Instagram targets you with ads full of products you would definitely want to buy? For example, I always get ads for vegan beauty products, tie-dye hoodies, online workout classes… just generally things that are creepily specific to my life and my recent Safari searches.

Well, because I’m a ho for vegan food, I recently got a bunch of ads for this new company called Safe + Fair Food Company which was boasting about a new line of vegan products that they were selling, which included chocolate drizzle popcorn, birthday cake popcorn, birthday cake blondies, etc. I literally had to wipe the drool from my mouth as I ran to the website to order my popcorn.

I got a bit carried away on the website and ordered the chocolate drizzle popcorn, the birthday cake popcorn, the birthday cake blondie mix, the olive oil and sea salt quinoa chips, and the hickory BBQ pea protein crisps. Yes, the last two were random. I...

Natural Candy Store Review

I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I think I have the best friends in the whole wide world. I mean it (subtle flex, not gonna lie.) But why do I think I have the best friends? Because they buy me vegan food. What more can you ask for out of a best friend?

So basically, one of my best friends from high school, Allie, stayed in LA with my sister and I a few weeks ago. As a thank you, she ever so kindly sent my sister and me each an entire box of vegan holiday peppermint bark! Is that not the cutest thing of all time? That’s like baby-Yoda-level cute.

It was from the company Natural Candy Store (website: https://www.naturalcandystore.com) and came in the cutest little box. I opened it and literally felt so warm and fuzzy and almost shed a tear TBH. It also came with this little tag explaining how the bark is vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and organic. I mean,...

Vegan Advent Calender 2019

Ever since I was little, I’ve been obsessed with Avril Levigne conspiracy theories Advent calendars! Getting to open a cute little calendar compartment every day in the month of December to find a delicious (usually chocolate-related) treat to keep me satisfied until Christmas morning was always a highlight of my childhood.  I would, of course, only eat the designated treat for the day, but I would lowkey want to open every single flap and devour the entire advent calendar whole.

Well, this year, I thought to myself, “Why haven’t I had an advent calendar in over a decade!?” Later in the day, I also thought to myself, “why are you always such a dumb b*tch” but the two thoughts were completely unrelated.

Anyway, I jumped onto my laptop and quickly searched “vegan advent calendar.” To my surprise, the only ones I could find were from EUROPE!!! Like WTF. I was so confused....

Imagine if you just got a box of random, delicious vegan snacks every month for no occasion whatsoever? It would be like Christmas (or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever you celebrate), but monthly! Well, you don’t have to imagine it any longer, because it’s literally a real thing and I’m #SHOOK.

I used to subscribe to Vegan Cuts in high school (the OG days, like over 5 years ago when I was a young lad), but I stopped when I felt like the boxes were getting a bit boring. HOWEVER, veganism is back...

Yes Cacao Review

“CHOCOLATE!!!!!”

– that one character from Spongebob

I LOVE chocolate. Anybody who knows me knows that. It’s probably my favorite food. My body craves it every single second of every single day.

SO when Yes Cacao emailed us and asked if we would review their chocolate bars, we of course said yes! It is a company that is focused on melding chocolate and health, two things you don’t hear grouped together very often! They use herbs, teas, flowers, and superfoods to pack these chocolates with delicious flavor and health benefits.

Each flavor is a little unique and different from the next but the packaging is so fricken cute and the tastes are all so bizarre and delicious at the same time. Like every timeIi take a bite, I want another. One of them literally tasted like mint chocolate chip ice...

Unisoy Vegan Jerky Review

Guys, is there such a thing as beef jerky rehab? Because sign me up. I’m straight up addicted to Unisoy’s beef jerky. OBSESSED is an understatement. My sister and I were huge fans of beef jerky before we went vegan. We used to stop at gas stations and just eat bags of it on the way home from school. (If you were wondering, no, we were not popular in high school! Was it that obvious?!)

Since becoming vegan, my love of beef jerky had to come to a screeching halt. OR so I thought. Unisoy makes the most realistic vegan jerky I have ever tried in my life. And trust me, I’d been searching for the perfect vegan jerky for a long time. Unisoy’s Teriyaki flavor is so darn good it should be illegal. WOW. Not gonna lie, I ate an entire bag in one sitting like two hours ago. Everything from the texture to the taste to the smell is so realistic and on point.

Unisoy was kind enough to send us a package...

So Delicious Dairy-Free Mousse Review

Guys, does anyone else find it weird that mouse and mousse are spelled so similarly? No? Just me? Ok, cool.

Anyway, because of the  Halo Top craze (low-calorie ice cream), many other brands have also been tried to create decadent, low-calorie dessert options.

Wink, the ice cream brand, tried to do it, but, no offense, failed epically. Their pints are only 100 calories each (red flag af) and taste like icey stevia. However, So Delicious decided to jump on board with the low-calorie frozen dessert options, but instead of being basic and attempting ice cream, they decided to be unique and do a vegan mousse.

As a lover of weird desserts, I knew I had to get my hand on one of these bad boys. Or two of them. Or three. Honestly, I just wanted to get my hands on as many as possible. However, every time I tried to find them at Erewon or Whole Foods in LA, I could never find them. My hunt for the So Delicious...

I Am Aranth Snack Review

Guys, I think I need to clear the air on something before we start. I sliced my finger with a strawberry slicer earlier today (sorry if that’s TMI) and the bandaid encasing my right middle finger is making it really hard to type, so I apologize in advance if this post is on the shorter side! Also yes my finger is fine, thanks for NOT asking!!!

All jokes aside, my finger is fine and to make matters even better, I got myself some SNACKS on hand. But they aren’t just any lame vegan snacks. They are from the amazing, delicious, and unique brand I Am Aranth. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this brand, I Am Aranth is a plant-based snack company that designs new and innovative munchies (or drunchies) using the ancient grain Amaranth, which has a shitload of health benefits. Some of these health benefits include high protein, high calcium, high antioxidants and minerals, essential lysine, and soooo many others.

No Whey Chocolate

Hey guys! Long time no blog. We haven’t blogged in a while partially do to our busy schedule, partially do to the fact that we’ve tried almost every vegan place in LA, and also partially do to the fact that im SO lazy it’s sad!

Well, No Whey Chocolate (a brand that avoids all of the top allergens in their chocolate products!!!) was kind enough to send us some *crack* Chocononos, one of my favorite vegan chocolates EVER. They basically taste like mnms but are vegan and the best part about them is that the chocolate is vegan MILK chocolate, not that bitter ass dark chocolate you usually get with vegan treats.

Anyway! Check out their website. They have the cutest products, such as heart-shaped truffle boxes for Valentines Day and cream filled eggs for Easter. Ooo, maybe I’ll celebrate Easter this year and like invite friends over to paint vegan eggs and do...

Just Egg Review

GUYS. I feel like scrambled eggs were such a big part of my childhood. I remember eating them doused in ketchup while watching Hannah Montana in my old living room on one of those tv tables. Yes, you could say I lived a life of luxury.

And ever since going vegan, I’ve always craved really delicious, creamy scrambled eggs, but I never found a good vegan alternative. WELL, Just Eggs (from the company that made Just Mayo as well #ballers), has been circulating around some select supermarkets and is SUPER hard to get a hold of. UNTIL. My sister’s boyfriend finally found it for my sister and I through some ~secret~ connections and shipped them to us to try! #bloggerperks

SO, anyway, I tried it! The packaging is super cute (however, there isn’t that much product in each package. I’d say you could make 2 full plates of scrambled vegan egg with that #salty #saltbae). It’s super easy to scramble...

Dream Pops

Guys, these popsicles look and taste like something out of the future. And guess what? They are all VEGAN.

These popsicles are all made with natural flavors and ingredients such as coconut milk, coconut sugar, cacao, matcha, vanilla, Lion’s Mane, etc. AND they look fricken awesome too. They aren’t too sugary, but are the perfect sweet treat for any afternoon, especially if you live in a place with a hotter climate. They are more “ice cream” than “popsicle” if you catch my drift, but since they are on a stick, they are technically a popsicle #popsiclelogic

They almost taste like space ice cream but better!  They come in a bunch of different flavors like chocolate, matcha, coffee, mango, etc. I highly recommend them!! You have to order them online if you want to try them but I promise they are worth it! https://dreampops.com

Vegan Gummy Candy

HEY FOLKS! Long time no blog. How has your life been going? Not that you can actually respond to this, but I hope it’s going good because post-grad SUCKS!

What’s the best thing to do when you’re life is in shambles? EAT CANDY! (I mean lowkey it’s not, but highkey it is)

Anyway, my friend Alexis who is from Toronto told me about this Canadian candy company called Squish Candies, and they have an entire vegan section on their website (THANK YOU). They have vegan sour strips, vegan gummy kisses, vegan gummy SHARKS, etc. I know. When was the last time you had a gummy shark as a vegan? NEVER. Because they always use gelatin. But guess what? THESE DON’T! Not only are gummy sharks so reminiscent of childhood, but also im currently obsessed with sharks (don’t ask) so I knew I had to order some candy!

The vegan kisses are a cute gift to give to someone special...

Quantum Squares Review

HEY GUYS. Sorry long time no blog.  We’ve been crazy busy with senior year and launching our Youtube channel (which if you haven’t subscribed to, GO DO IT!!!!!)

Quantum Squares is a company that makes caffeinated energy bars that have 100mg of caffeine in them (about as much as a cup of coffee) and they were nice enough to send a box to my sister and I to review!!!!

GUYYYYYSSSS. These bars are REALLY REALLY yummy. And no I’m not just saying that because we got them for free. You know how honest we are on this blog (unless you’ve never read our blog before then…. HI!). These bars are soooo flavorful. The mocha one legit tastes like a chocolate covered almond, and the cherry one tastes like a chocolate covered cherry.

If you are looking for ways to replace your jittery coffee habits, deff check out these bars! They are vegan AND gluten-free AND delicious!

Vegan Halo Top Review

GUYS!!!!!!!!! I don’t think I’ve been this excited since Ben and Jerry came out with their non-dairy flavors (or when Lady Gaga touched my hand at a concert, but that’s another story). But yes, this vegan angel has finally received her halo.

Halo Top now makes DAIRY-FREE, VEGAN options. For those of you who don’t know anything about the legendary Halo Top, it is basically a “diet” ice cream that has been known to actually taste good and each pint has like 300-400 calories depending on the flavor.

I was pretty skeptical trying these vegan options because I was kinda iffy on the whole idea of “diet ice cream” as it can promote binging, but I didn’t want to knock it before I tried it.

Here are the flavors I got. (Ignore the so delicious in the photo below lol. That one is not good nor Halo Top)

Official review: hUBFKHNCOISHN so freakin goooooood!!...

Nourish Snacks Review

Vegan. Gluten-free. Adorable packaging. Made with love. Can we say “perfection???”

Ok, so for those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about… Nourish Snacks are these little granola bites PACKED with flavor. They come in a few different flavors: Chocolate-banana, Chocolate-peanut butter, coconut-vanilla, and blueberry-apple and are so delish and fun to snack on. Plus, they make a baller topping for a smoothie bowl, yogurt bowl, parfait, oatmeal bowl, literally anything. Ok, maybe not a salad. Unless you’re into that type of thing…??

Anyway, our lovely friend (and health-food Queen, Joy Bauer) was nice enough to send us a box of these DELICIOUS little bites so we could do a lil holiday giveaway on our Instagram @thatveganlifedoe!

So if you read this in time (shout-out to my readers! All 0 of you!), go ahead...

Vegan Nutella

HELLOOOOOOOO people of the vegan-iverse (vegan universe? lol i wish)

GUESS WHAT I FOUND? Drum roll please…….. just kidding, you already know the title of the blog post…. VEGAN NUTELLA!!! Made with all the same crap real nutella is made of (chocolate, sugar, and palm oil!!!!!) Unfortunately, it’s not healthy nutella, and palm oil is just bad for a million reasons (look it up), but the taste is UNCANNY.

It brought me RIGHT BACK to my childhood. Would I recommend eating spoonfuls of this every night? NO. (Yes). BUT, as an occasional indulgence, a trip down memory lane, a treat-yo-self moment, knock yourself out. (I mean don’t actually knock yourself out because then you won’t be able to try the nutella…. duh)

All the ingredients are 100% vegan, however they do make it in a factory with other milk based products so the label says it may contain traces of milk....

R.E.D.D. Bars Review

I have tried basically every vegan bar on the market. Cliff, Luna, Nugo, Vega… you name it. I’m a bar-aholic. (Like I eat a lot of bars, not like I GO to a lot of bars… all though I also do that too).

Anyway, I was so barred out (verb?) that I was gonna quit eating bars for good… until I tried R.E.D.D bars! REDD stands for Research Enhanced Designed + Development so you already know the people in chcarge of your food know what the heck they’re talking about!

Both the peanut butter superfood bar and the chocolate superfood bar are vegan,  not sure about the other flavors as I have not tried them, but these two are BOMBBBB.

If you like bars, check out this one. Snack bars that is. If you need alcoholic bar recs, that’s a different story.

D’s Naturals Review

Thank you to D’s Naturals, who were kind enough to send us some of there vegan products, including their No Cow bars and their smores flavored Fluffbutter!

What’s cool about this product is that they use Pea Protein and each serving has so many grams of protein! Both the bars and the Smores butter definitely do taste like protein powder, so if you aren’t a fan of the taste of protein powder, then maybe skip out. I, on the other hand, LOVE the taste of protein powder, so I thought these products were yummy!

It’s a good way to get something sweet in your day while also adding to your protein intake! Check it out homies!

Vegan Truffles

GUYYYYYYYSSSSSSS my top three favorite things in life are

  1. My dogs
  2. My grandma
  3. CHOCOLATE

Yes, anybody who knows me know I am a loud and proud chocolate addict. I’ve been told by many doctors to stop eating so much chocolate but I am a born rebel. I love chocolate more than I love Bill Skarsgard. And that’s saying a lot because he’s my numero uno #BAE

Anyway, these Living Raw truffles are BALLER AF. They are so rich and fudgy and made of all natural, raw vegan ingredients. My favorite flavor is the hemp ones, but the others are super yummy too. They are always sold out on their website but you can find them in Whole Foods, unless they are sold out there too. THEY ARE SO AMAZING (and that’s coming from a chocolate addict).

BUY THESE!!

Vegan Miso Soup Packets

GUYYYSSS is anybody as obsessed with miso soup as I am???? No??? Yes??? Am I alone in this dark, cruel world???? LOL KIDDING.

Miso soup is BAE with a capital B. I was at M Cafe the other day and I saw this little packet of Tsubi miso soup and I decided to buy it! This brand makes all plant based miso soups cubes, that you just add water to and make delicious miso soup. Seriously, it’s so yummy and easy to make. And for all those calories nerds out there, it’s only 40 calories! And for those who don’t care about calories, feel free to eat 20 of these!

CHECK THESE BABIES OUT! I only had one packet and I just ate it and now I’m sad #sad

Naturally Clean Eats Review

I’m simple. When I see cookie dough… I click.

LOL, jk, when I see cookie dough, I EAT THE FUCK OUTTA IT.

Ok, lemme back up. So I stumbled across this cute af bar called “Naturally Clean Eats” because it looked super trendy, but I didn’t think it would be vegan. I looked closer and, lo and behold, it was not only vegan, but CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE FLAVOURED!!!!

Anyway, bottom line, it was delicious and I 10/10 would recommend it as a quick breakfast or yummy snack! Not only will you have a yummy treat to eat, but these bars will make your cabinet look trendy and chic as fuck.

The bars are vegan, gluten free, non-GMO, non processed ingredients, nothing artifical, and made of all real food (as oppose to fake food? lol)! If that doesn’t scream yum, then you need to get your hearing checked!

Vegan Healthy Chocolate Review

Guys, is chocolate considered a drug? Because I am straight up addicted. Like it’s almost unfortunate how addicted I am to chocolate. Because I crave it all the damn time. Good thing I crave something I can always get. Imagine craving the fucking eclipse? Like wait till 2024 for your next fix buddy. (But for real, that eclipse was v underwhelming #ThereISaidIt)

Anyway, Olie found this chocolate and it’s so yummy and simple and healthy and clean and each different bar comes with a different benefit. It definitely tastes healthy but it totally satisfies the craving and is so yummy. Totally recommend this if you are looking for a healthy alternative to chocolate or if you just want a tasty treat!

Vegan Coconut Butter Cups

I don’t know about you, but E.T. and I share one thing in common. No, not the fact that we both look like aliens and feel like people are always out to get us. The fact that WE BOTH LOVE REESES PIECES!

Obviously, they aren’t vegan (the candy bites nor the cups) but lately there has been an explosion of vegan knock-offs, most famously Justin’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

Well, Justin better make room for the latest brand: Eating Evolved! (Vegan and paleo for all ma cavemen/women out there)

My friend and I tried the Caramel Sea Salt Coconut Butter cup and had interesting reviews.

My friend didn’t like it, whereas I found it oddly intriguing. Different from your average PB cup, but it has a unique and distinct taste that I did enjoy.

Try it and lmk what you think!

Vegan Doritos!

That’s right ladies and gents, girls and boys, and everything in between (that’s politically correct, right?)… I have discovered the latest greatest thing since sliced bread, contact lenses, and the rearview camera in your car that helps you back up and not run people over: VEGAN DORITOS.

Now I know you all are like “Boo hoo. Doritos aren’t vegan. Stop getting our hopes up #clickbait” and yes you mofos, you are correct. However, I have found the next BEST substitue which was even quoted by a non-vegan for being “better than doritos”.

I announce to you: Beanfield’s Nacho Rice & Bean Chips.

That Vegan Life Doe was given a huge box for free by someone who works with the company (I promise this isn’t sponsored lol we aren’t cool enough for that) and I literally spent a week straight  just eating chips.

The...

Skoop Protein Powder Review

I don’t know about you guys but I low-key (high-key) LOVE the taste of vegan protein powder in my smoothies. I don’t know why but I do. It’s defiantly not for everybody, but I LOVE it.

Lucky for me, the people over at Skoop saw our blog and sent my sis and I some samples of their protein powders!!! I’ve only tried the chocolate so far but it was delicious. I’m very excited to try the tirami-snooze powder next.

SO if you’re looking for delicious, healthy plant based protein powders, CHECK SKOOP OUT!!!!

Little Secrets Review

One of the worst parts about being vegan??? No MNMs.

Don’t you miss pouring those mini mnm’s down your throat like it was nobody’s bidness? No? Dat jus me? Also, did that sound in appropriate? Or was dat jus me again?

ANYWAY, I found the cure to this MNM problem. (Lol “cure”? What is this? A zombie movie?)

LITTLE SECRETS DARK CHOCOLATE CANDIES. (They also come in peanut butter, you know, just in case ET shows up at your door and you’re fresh outa Recese’s Pieces #ItHappens)

These candies legit taste like REAL MNMs. Honestly, WAY better and WAY healthier. I’ve legit eaten like 2 bags in a row because I’m #classy. GO ORDER THESE OR BUY THESE OR WHATEVER. JUST GET YO HANDS ON THESE FUCKERS (that’s what she said?)

Orgain Vegan Protein Bar Review

GUYS. These bars are SO SO SO GOOD. If you are sick of the same vegan protein bars over and over again (cuz i know I am), you must give these a try. I’ve legit eaten like 3 in a row because they are so good. Plus they are super low cal and low in sugar (so that means I can eat 10 right?)

Check these fuckers out homies

(Also, why is the Smores bar the only one in focus???? #illuminati)

Vegan Chai Cookies

Have you ever snuggled with your puppy by the fire place? Or been given a nice sum of money as a gift from a relative? Or had your crush smile at you in class?

Ok, combine all those feelings and you get the heavenly taste of these cookies!!!

I randomly found them at Whole Foods as I was shopping  because grocery shopping is the best shopping, am I right??

They are vegan, gluten-free, low cals, and ACTUALLY AMAZZZZZING! Sorry for the lame pic, the bag was literally almost empty because I had eaten them all in like one sitting. Just wanted to show y’all the packaging so you know how to spot them lol

They are the perfect amount of chai and vanilla and their shortbread texture is so crumbly and buttery, I have no idea how they made it vegan. Also, also, also, the cookies are bite-sized so they are perfect to share with friends!! (or eat them all in one sitting, whatever floats...

Vegan Egg Review

YES GUYS I DID IT. I tried the vegan egg and lived to tell the tale.

So before I get into the review, I will admit I actually did not go out to a store to buy this. A small sample came in my monthly Vegan Cuts box so I thought, why not, lets just try this fucker out.

First of all, I think the point of this vegan egg is supposed to be a replica of scrambled eggs. Not sure if it’s actually an egg subsitute so don’t blame me if you’re brownies come out tasting like scrambled eggs if you use this as a subsitute #sorrynotsorry #warnedyou

Second of all, it’s pretty easy to make. Whipped it up in a couple of minutes which was pretty suprising for me lol (and there are in-deph instructions on the package for those who are unskilled in the cooking arena like myself)

Third of all, it actually smells like eggs which is WEIRD AF but almost made me feel nostalgic of my childhood.

Fourth of all, it was pretty good! A little bland...

Enlightened Bean Crisps Review

First of all: Sorry for the blurry pic. My camera can be a bit of a bitch-face sometimes and make the photo look crisp and clear when really it’s blurry AF

Second of all: HAVE YOU TRIED THESE!?! They are legit amazing. I tried them once at the Coffee Bean at my school and immediately ordered two boxes of the sample packs. It was lurveeee at first sight. They come with BBQ, Wasabi, Siracha, Sea Salt, Garlic & Onion, and two sweet flavors: Cinnamon and  Cocoa. So far BBQ is my favorite but they are all pretty dope.

Basically all they are made of is: Fava Beans and flavoring. Simple AG. AND they are certified vegan, super low in calories, and, most importantly, amazingly delicious.

I one-hundo-p recommend. 10/10 for me folk!

BEST Tea Ever

GUYS, I never understood the hype around tea, but NOW I DO. Zhena’s Gypsy Tea is legit AMAZING. The vanilla chai is my favorite but the hazelnut comes to a close second. They legit smell like delicious chai doughnuts and taste like delicious chai lattes. SO GOOOOD. ‘Nuff said.

The Vegan Box Review

So guys, I was feeling pretty adventerous the other day (as I usually am) and decided to spontaneously order a subscription to an Australian vegan company called “The Vegan Box” which sends you a variety of vegan products and treats in the mail monthly.

So this is the box I got:

And this is what is inside:

TBH I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed and cancelled my subscription after getting the box (lol at how salty I am)  because it is as expensive as the Vegan Cuts box but only 1/3 as filled and the products are not nearly as good (yup salty af).

I gave the mud mask to my friend cuz I went on accutane last year and don’t mess with ma skin no mo. The hot and spicy coconut strips were nasty AF. I can’t really use the chai tea because it’s loose leaf and aint nobody got time for that. And The smoothie bomb I have yet to try but like wtf.

Also,...

Daily Harvest Smoothies review

Hey guys, raise your hand if you’re really lazy! *Raises both hands and feet*. Okay, well I’m not only lazy when it comes to school (and life in general), but also when it comes to my health #guiltyascharged. I know there’s definitely a version of me that exists in another dimension who goes to farmer’s markets every week and has nutritious smoothie bowls for breakfast and such, but real life me… is too lazy.

SO. I found this company called Daily Harvest that you can subscribe to and they send you smoothie mixes in the mail. So not only do you not need to shop for all the smoothie shit, but you also don’t have to be creative enough to come up with the combos. All you have to do is add coconut water and blend it all up (guys… tbh the magic bullet literally sucks).

Because I don’t like bananas, I didn’t have that many smoothie combos to choose from, but it was all good...

Vegan Tuck Box Review

GUYS GUYS GUYS. I LOVE SNACKS AND SNACKING AND ANYTHING FOOD RELATED. (Lol I just looked up the definition of “snacking” for no reason and the definition was: to eat a snack. Go figure.)

Anyway, I randomly found this company (Vegan Tuck Box) that sends you boxes of vegan snacks from all over the world (mostly Europe if i’m correct? Legit no clue). I didn’t order a box. I kind of just ordered a bunch of snacks from their catalogue and LET ME TELL YOU. They were AMAZING. My friends and I devoured them in .3 seconds.

Highly recommend ordering snacks from this company. The quinoa chips and the Ten Acre chips were SO yummy, the No No’s were heaven, the crispy corn flakes bar was amazeballz, and THE HAZELNUT WAFFLES WERE TO DIE FOR. Not gonna lie, I have no idea where the little pink brownie in a mug thing went so…. ? And we were NOT fans of the salted carmel chocolate or the white nougat...

Vegan Cuts Review

Hey folk! (or is it folks? IDK who cares)

I’m a fat-ass and I just suscribed to get a Vegan Cuts box of snacks to get delivered to my apartment every month because I’m apparently Augustus Gloop .

Anyway, Vegan Cuts is a company that sends either snack boxes (filled with a variety of cool vegan snacks) or beauty boxes (filled with a variety of cool vegan beauty products) that get shipped to your mansion/apartment/shack/home (lol #mash) for not that expensive of a price!

Here is a pic of what I got in my snack box (which I’m literally about to demolish right now, no joke) and I’ll list the products and company names below if you want to check them out!

1. Svelte “Cappachino Protein Shake”

2. Kashi Go Lean “Peanut Hemp Crunch” bar

3. Pop Corners “Carnival Kettle” chips

4....

Vegan Starbursts

THEY EXIST. Well, not actual Starbursts (because they suck and use gelatin) but these are the healthier version of starbursts! Thanks to my friend Monica who texted me about them one day, I ended up finding them at my local supermarket and bought them! They are soo yummy! Check em out!

Wink Ice Cream Review

The slogan says less is more, so here is my review: no.

100 calories a pint. Tastes like concentrated stevia foam. Appreciate the attempt. Appreciate the vegan-ness of the product. But, in the wise words of Simon Cowell, it’s a no from me.

Sugah Mama Cookies Review

Hey guys!

So if you guys follow @veganfatkid on instagram (No that is not my instagram handle although sometimes I feel like I identify with it) you know he is friends with the owner of the vegan/gluten-free cookie brand “Shugah Mama”.

Side note: Is that name a little weird to anyone, or is that just me? Like is it a play on “Sugar daddy”? If so, does that make it more weird or more okay?

Anyway, sorry, lost track of thought. We bought this cookie at Suncafe in LA and thought we’d finally get a taste of da Shugah Mama. (Did that sound dirty? Or is that just me?)

Review: Really, really good! Super low-calories, super delicious, and made with all healthy ingredients. If you see one, grab one! If you don’t, well then find one, then grab one!

10/10

Vegan Salted Caramels

NEWS REPORT: Amella Caramels sells ALL VEGAN grey sea salt, chocolate covered caramels!!! Legit just died a little on the inside, but theses caramels are bringing me back to lifffeeee.

Here’s a little secret guys…I used to kinda be obsessed with salted caramel before it became like a huge craze flavor (you know, like red velvet, matcha, those type of craze flavors) but I was obsessed with salted caramels like 3 years before they became mainstream. I’m such a hipster, right?

Anyway, it’s been all the way since 8th grade (my non-vegan days) that I’ve had a chocolate covered salted caramel and lo-and-behold, I found these at Whole Foods last week. So of course, I bought them and ate 3 in one sitting because I’ve been salted-caramel deprived for 6 years ok?!!?! Geez.

Anyway, if you are cravin salted caramel as much as I was, buy these and eat them! So worth it and better if you let them...

Vegan Marti Gras King Cake

Ok guys, so no I don’t live in New Orleans orrrr celebrate Marti Gras BUT I do have a friend who goes to school in NOLA and celebrates Marti Gras and because she’s such an  amazing, amazing friend..she sent us a DIY all vegan Marti Gras king cake for our birthday!!!

Such a creative and personalized gift! It came with the cake, frosting, sprinkles, and beaded necklaces! What else do you need in life?? (I mean, I could probs do without the beaded necklaces but ya know)

Anyway, the cinnamon swirl cake was GREAT. Thank you so much to Allie, the bae, for sending. You da real MVP.

Also, if anyone wants to order one for a friend (or themselves hehehe) the company is called Girls Gone Vegan ala “Girls Gone Wild”. So getcha self some cake and go wild!! #vegangirlsgonewild

Emmy’s Organics

Everybody. You must buy these. They are DELICIOUS.

These macaroons are my favorite coconut macaroons I have ever tried #nojoke and the flavors are awesome: cookie dough, chai spice, mint chip, vanilla, chocolate, etc. SO YUM. Also the chocolate sauce is pretty baller too. It legit took effort to not eat them before I took this photo.

They are the perfect bite sized snack whenever you’re craving something sweet.

CHECK THEM OUT.

Natierra Superfoods

GUYS. CHECK DIS SHIT OUT. Natierra, or sometimes known as Himalania, is a company that makes the best healthy snacks, from freeze dried fruit (and corn!! Surprisingly delicious), chia seeds, gogi berries (not “yogi” berries as spell check seemed to think), hemp seeds, etc. Perfect smoothie bowl toppings or just a great snack in between classes (or for whenever because let’s be real, when are snacks a bad idea? #NEVER) Check them out 🙂

P.S. Yogi berries aren’t a thing but now I want one

Anyway, aside from the “Ultimate Guide to Rob James Collier” handbook she got me (for all of you suckas who don’t watch Downton Abbey, he’s the actor that plays the SEXY mysterious gay butler Thomas who I luurrrrve) she also got me…

VEGAN M&M’s. They’re called “Choco No No’s” and they actually taste like m&m’s. I’m not even kidding ya. If you’re craving them, order them online like Bella did! And maybe share them with your Valentine or something. (Or your galentine if you’re single lol #gurlpower)

Also disclaimer: Rob James Collier looks kinda fugly...

The cashew caramel flavor is my all time favorite and the peanut butter chocolate chip is a close runner up. Definitely go check them out! Lenny and Larrys Cookies

GUYS I think my spirit animal might be the cookie monster  (and the 40 Year Old Virgin but that’s beside the point).

These cookies are SO fn good. Like I think I’ve eaten (swallowed whole) 2 of these in one sitting. ANDDDD best part is they are ALL VEGAN #hollaaaaa.  And for all the health nuts out there (I know you’re out there, probably making banana ice cream), these are high protein, no cholesterol, no high fructose corn syrup, and ALL NATURAL #yeahbae. And for all my Jewish pals out there, they are kosher too!! And they come in a shit load of different flavors so, uh, the more the better!

Check these out!!! (Can you believe they  have a Pumpkin Spice flavor??? Like YASSSSS)

Righteously Raw Chocolate

GUYS GUYS GUYS I’m legit obsessed with Righteously Raw chocolate. The caramel chocolate is OUT of this world! I could eat it on repeat forever and ever and ever. Righteously Raw chocolates are organic, kosher, vegan, non-gmo, gluten-free and… obvi DELICIOUS. They come in chocolate bars, macaroons, and little chocolate bites. Highly recommend the caramel chocolate and the coconut and cacao macaroons!!

Check these out for some healthy chocolate options when the chocolate cravings hit hard (which, if you are me, happens 24/7).

Does chocolate rehab exist? And if so, how do I get there?

Delicious Trader Joe Snacks

Sorry Whole Foods, I’m having a love affair with Trader Joes (lol how my only love affair involves food #SomebodyLoveMePlease #HelloFromTheOtherSide)

Anyways, Trader Joes is mad cheap. I bought like 2 almond milks, 2 fruit leathers, a jar of cookie butter, a fresh tangerine juice, and a mini chocolate thing and it was all under 15 dollars. At Whole Foods, that legit would have been like 45 bucks #NoLoCreo #IDontThinkSo

Anyways, here are all the goodies Olie and I bought! So far, I’ve only tried the tangerine juice which was okay but still refreshing, the cookie butter/cocoa swirl which was amazeballs and tastes like Nutella, and the Pumpkin O’s. GUYS. THE PUMPKIN OS. YOU HAVEN’T LIVED UNTIL YOU’VE TRIED THESE.

Our friend Maxine suggested them, so Olie bought a box. But like…how...

Vegan Compartes Chocolate

So, I’m sure you guys have seen the very fancy designed chocolate bars from Compartes chocolate brand at least once or twice in your life; however, most of their bars, sadly, are not vegan. (Even though they have the coolest-ass flavors #sadface)

Well, well, well, my friends, looks like the tables have turned because my sis and I have indeed found a vegan Compartes chocolate bar.

Well, technically we didn’t find it. Our older sister found it and mailed it to us (Ty Soph!) but anyway, to some capacity, it has been found.

The vegan flavor they have is: “Vegan Zen: Healthy Kale Dark Chocolate Bar”.

...

Vegan Israeli Snack “Bamba”

According to Wikipedia (college kid’s most trusted source of information): “Bamba is one of the leading snack foods produced and sold in Israel.” #cool

Anyway, my friend Sara, who’s Jewish, got these Bamba snacks for my sister and I to try. Apprently, they are v popular in Israel. Basically what they are, are peanut butter cheetos.

But guys, guys, guys, guys, HOLD THE PHONE! THESE FUCKERS ARE GREAT!!! They are peanut butter powder dusted cheetos!!! Like it doesn’t get better than that!!! (I know it sounds weird, but if you take a bite, you’ll totally feel what I’m sayin)

Thanks Sara for the yummy, unique snack! If any of you guys feel like being adventerous, order yourself a pack! You’re brain will thank you.

Raw Vegan Snack at Whole Foods

So, we were visiting the Whole Foods in Los Altos in Nor Cal with my good friend Kristen (who was gratuitous enough to let Bella and I spend the Thanksgiving holiday with herand her family) and I found these snacks!

They are from the brand Mavuno Harvest and are literally just dried fruit with no sugar added. Sounds boring but I tried the mango, banana, and pinapple and it was some of the best dried fruit I’ve ever had. So naturally sweet and healthy and great snacks for kids. (Lol am I still a kid? I don’t turn 20 for 3 months, I think that counts?)

Anyway, buy em if you see em! You won’t regret it. I promise!! They are addicting.

VEGAN CHOCOLATE BRAND (BOND BAR)

So guys, my school is the bomb.com and every Wednesday they have a boss-ass farmer’s market and this time around they had a new vegan and gluten-free chocolate stand!!!

I didn’t try any because I skipped out on the workout this morning (#ooops #sorrynotsorry) but they all looked delicious.

The name’s Bar. Bond Bar. (duh-nuh-nuhhhh) Not all the flaavors are vegan but the flavors that were vegan were sea salt, expresso, and dried cherry toasted almond. So if you want some coco, you know where to find it baessss.

...

VEGAN GIFT IDEA

So guys, apparently I have the best friend in the worldddd and before the sis and I went back to LA, my friend Je’lyn brought over A BAG of vegan snacks and A TUB of cherry Rita’s ice!! Does it get better than that? Like NOPE!

Anyway, so she came over and we devoured all the delicious things while binge watching Dating Naked. Yes, I know it sounds like a ridiculous show but it is sooooooo addicting, you guys have absolutely no clue!!!!

Like seriously watch it, you’ll be hooked!!! Anyway, if you’re looking for a gift for a vegan friend who is leaving, I suggest food because, hey, you really can’t go wrong. (And maybe a Dating Naked marathon).

Our family friend, who we went to dinner with tonight and also happens to be our neighbor lol, bought us these vegan chocolate bars that I had been dying to try! They are so delicious! Thanks Greg! He’s also considering going vegan because all the celebs are doing it #haha #yuss #celebpower!

HEALTHY VEGAN SNACK

So guys, my family friend Sarah was cool enough to show the sis and I these new vegan snack/desserts. They are coconut and cacao macaroon bites that are totally vegan, low in cals, and totally delicious. These are great snacks to keep on hand/in your purse when you want a quick snack or need a quick chocolate fix (Yes, we all have those monthly cravings ladies. Don’t deny it).

Anyway, if you see em in a store, buy one. Or two. Or three. I don’t give a shit. Buy em all!

(Wait, actually don’t. Save one for me)

NOURISH SNACKS REVIEW

Thanks so much to Nourish Snacks for sending over a HUGE package of snacks! My cousin’s girlfriend introduced these to me the past weekend and I FELL IN LOVE! (not that  I know what falling in love feels like, but you get what i mean…. #Tinder4Life)

They are low cal (for all us curvy girls out there) and dairy free and gluten-free too! Super healthy made with all natural ingredients. I know, seems too good to be true BUT IT IS TRUE. And I bet you think they taste like cardboard BUT THEY DONT. THEY ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS. I legit just devoured a chocolate chia pack and it had chocolate chips in it and I almost died.

Seriously go buy these and follow them on insta  (@nourishsnacks). My friend just ate a pack and was like “I’m def gonna order these”. THESE ARE BOSS ASS SNACKS.

NATURE BOX REVIEW

“You have a package” <-  If you’re in college, that sentence is music to your ears because it only means one thing FOOD. Am I right, my fellow chubsters?

So, Bella’s roomate and my awesome friend Sara got Bella and I two month subscriptions to NatureBox which is a company that sends you monthly snack boxes with snacks tailored to your dietary needs! HOW COOL! Like, when I found out about this I kinda did a happy dance. (Now I’m sure you all are picturing me dancing alone in my room like a fool….which is a prety accurate description of what happened)

So I tailored my snacks to be vegan (duh), under 150 calories (Gotta get rid of dem love handles), low sodium (random, but I was like phuket) and no soy (Yeah, gotta cut back) and I got all these amazing snacks which were by the way all SO yummy!

You can also pick out snacks that you want online and if they don’t have them or you want to...

Fun Vegan Snack

Um not kidding. Buy these. They are called Woats. Get the “Cookies n Dreams” (<— hence title of this blog post) because it is LEGIT oreos and granola and it really is made of dreams. Like if i had to label my entire life, i would want it to be called “COOKIES AND DREAMS”. Thank you Ali for making dreams come true

Vegan Ice Cream Bars

So Delicious Dairy Free Chocolate Coated Ice Cream Bars.

I have three boxes in my freezer. ‘Nuff said

Vegan Chips…the best ever!

Get these! They are AMAZING!

Vegan Care Package Snacks

Thanks Mom and Dad and everyone back home for this lovely care package full of goodies and galore!

So yes, my fan bam back at home knows me too well. The key to my heart: vegan food.

Bella and I each got a HUGE box (Like literally, I struggled real hard getting that box to my room. I think the desk person literally thought I was incompetent) full of vegan snacks like: Swedish fish, sour patch watermelon, luna bars, pretzels, whole foods vegan chocolate chip cookies (<33333), orbit gum, chamomile tea, whole foods gummy candy, vanilla AND chocolate almond milk, twizzlers (which I just interupted writing this blog to go grabs some from bella’s room, eating them as we speak), almond cookies, BBQ terra chips, and picture frames (Which sadly are not edible, I apologize).

Anyway, this only means one thing. Two words. Freshman 15.

...

VEGAN COLLEGE DORM SNACKS

So a Whole Foods run was a MUST before moving into my freshman dorm because #yes.

I’m super bummed because there is no Whole Foods near my campus, but ya know what? It’ll make going to Whole Foods those select times, that much better #Hurrah!

So if you’re a vegan (or not) here is what i would recommend for your dorm room (if it comes with a microwave and fridge/freezer of course).

Juice. Any type of juice. I always get a juice cravin, idk about you. It’s like those times when you’re thirsty but you’re not in the mood for water or anything too sugary. I suggest Honest Kids. Love that drink

Chocolate Almond Milk

I always get a chocolate craving because chocolate is my favorite food ever #ImSuchAGirl #Jk #ImmaMan So, as a healthy alternative to always...

VEGAN SNACKS AT MIMI’S HOUSE

So last night we slept over at Mimi’s house and she was nice enough to buy us vegan snacks! YAY! Gotta love that vegan appreciation doe

She bought these really good sweet potato chips that were not only delicious but had a great texture. She also had the hummus from Organic Pharmer and it worked really well with the sweet potato chips. Also, she had this mini popcorn called Pipcorn and it was the CUTEST popcorn i’ve ever eaten. And she bought vegetable sushi from Whole Foods! Thanks Mimi!

I literally came to her house right after dinner and then ate a second dinner #storyofmylife

VEGAN WELCOME HOME SNACKS

Okay, so I officially have the best Grandma and Grandpa on the planet!!!

So today Bella and I came home from after 6 weeks in Los Angeles and my grandma came rushing over to our house to see us the second she heard we got home and had a bunch of snacks waiting for us!

Before we came home, my grandma sent my grandpa out to buy us vegan snacks and he told us he looked and ran around everywhere trying to find some for us (which I’m sure consisted of a lot of ingredient reading and running around different supermarkets). But it paid off because the snacks were soooo yummy!!!

It was so considerate and thoughtful and such a nice warm welcome back home on the east coast. Love them and missed them so much! #mygrandparentsarebetterthanyours #almondcookiesaresoBOMB

QUICK VEGAN DINNER OPTION FOR COLLEGE

So at Seeds at USC (and I’m sure at other supermarket like places) they sell these Dr. McDougalls vegan soups, and all you have to do is pour water and microwave it. They are super yummy, low in calories, and with crackers, actually make for a good dinner, especially if you don’t have time to actually go out and get dinner, or if you’re like me, and you don’t have any friends to go out to dinner with #LonleyForLife Check it out yall

Vegan Snacks at a Friend’s House

So last night Olie and I went to our awesome friend Sol’s performance at AMPLYFi, which is a little hole in the wall place (or in Sol’s words: “A hidden treasure”) with a stage and cool posters and stickers all around the walls of bands and musicians. It reminded me a lot of New York…ahh home sweet home. So anyways, Sol preformed and was AMAZING. You have to check out this girl. She’s gonna be the next big thing. And I’m not just saying that because she’s my friend. Her new song “Runaway Love” is actually incredible. Check out a photo of her preforming under

So anyways, of course, after the performance we slept over at her house and right when we got home, we went straight to the kitchen to get snacks (You know the quote “home is where the heart is” well for me “home is where the food is” so basically I’m a major foodie). We ate...

Vegan Snack Products

Whole Foods sells this brand of Popsicles that are AMAZING. They are SO good. I know, how can a popsicle be that good? I don’t know. They just are. They are the perfect size, perfect amount of sweetness/fruit flavor, they have bits of fruit in them, and they are low-calorie (i swear i don’t work for the company, i just really like them…). My favorite is the strawberry flavor but the mango is really good too. They are the perfect snack because they last long, taste great, and they are low in calorie. Score!

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIESSS!!! Literally my favorite dessert in the world ever. I think i was a chocolate chip cookie in my past life. Like my spirit animal is a chocolate chip cookie. No joke. Anyways, check out these cookies if you’re in the mood for something sweet. Low calorie, crunchy, chocolatey, and just damn good. I had some like an hour ago and...

Vegan snack to-go

So I first tried these in a Coffee Bean in LA and thought I’d never see these simple delicious snacks again….but voila! They have magically reentered my life!

They are basically just little squares of fruit puree (with a fruit leather consistency) and most of them have only one ingredient and are very low in calories. The one I just ate was 35 calories for the whole pack and only made of organic mango puree.

You must try. They come in a bunch of different flavors and are great snacks to store in your purse. (After you buy them….duh. Thatveganlifedoe does not support stealing, unless we are discussing the Heinz dilemma. In that case…)

Anyway, GO BUY EM.

Healthy vegan low-calorie dessert

hey guys so today we went to our friend Allie’s house and she had these super cool and yummy desserts that are tasty and low in calories! Who doesnt love chocolate covered strawberries and bananas?! (I actually hate bananas so thats awkard but Olie likes them!) Check em out

VEGAN SNACK OPTIONS

So if any of you guys are bored at home during the summer and feel like binge watching a TV show like Orphan Black or Game of Thrones (Because we all know it’s much healthier to be a couch potato than go do something athletic in the sun), I offer you some vegan snacks to binge on as well.

Super delicious, low in cals, and great for munching. You can find at any local grocery store or in Olie and Bella’s snack pantry.

Homemade Whole Foods Ice Cream Sandwiches

So i was SUPER craving an ice cream sandwich, like the fat lard i am, and Organic Planet is closed from 3:00- 5:30, so my friend Taylor and I ventured to Whole Foods to create our own ice cream sandwiches.  Perfect treat to make and eat outside on such a beautiful day!

Yummy Vegan Snack

Dang coconut chips are DANG GOOD!!! (Lol, get it? Dang?) Anywho, there are only three ingredients in these crunchy coconut chips: coconut, coconut sugar, and salt.

I know, some of you people who aren’t fans of coconut are all like #ewwww, but I don’t even like coconut and these chips are freakin addicting!!!! I usually get them in the caramel sea salt flavor, but I think they also come in a regular flavor with a hint of lime.

Low in calories, vegan, delicious, easy to snack on, must buy!

Please enjoy the following photo of Dang coconut chips in front of a bed of flowers. #tryhards #hadto #summer? #hashtag

Vegan Alternative To Honey

Ok, so my family friend found this vegan alternative to honey but it’s made of APPLES!!!! weird right, but oh so yummy. Taste just like apple juice syrup!

So, if you feel iffy about adding bee vomit to your chamomile tea, opt for  apple honey!

Completely natural and has just as many calories as agave and comes in a cute bottle! (Because appearance is everything, remember that bloggers #jk #butseriously)

VEGAN SNACKS FOR SLEEPOVERS

Hey guys! So today was the day to celebrate because we both got into USC (University of Southern California)!!!! AHHH SO crazy.

We are SUPER happy and celebrated with some vegan junk food!!!

We brought these cookies into school for everybody because a lot of people heard back from colleges the night before, and everybody devoured them, even though they were vegan! (because we all know those people who claim vegan food is worse than regular food #geezlaweez)

My friend Taylor also baked us vegan cookies because she knew we were nervous to find out about college and they were delicious! I’ve been baking vegan cookies for like two years now, and this was her first try and they were 10 times better than mine. She added some Noir (a Belgian dark chocolate spread found at Le Pain Quotidien) which made them...

VEGAN MACAROONS

I came across this cute little package in my kitchen cabinet. As i was about to put it back down, not knowing what it was, the words “macaroon” and “vegan” caught my eye. Bingo!

Hail Merry strawberry macaroons taste like mini cheese cake bites and each small pack is only 130 calories. Bingo again!

The ingredients are all natural as well! (organic shredded coconut, organic maple syrup, natural raw almond flour, organic extra virgin coconut oil, natural raw almond butter, organic freeze dried strawberries, organic Madagascar bourbon vanilla, sea salt)

My sister and I loved them so much that we are ordering a bunch! They have chocolate, caramel sea salt, and vanilla.  They are perfect for a sweet treat.

HEALTHY BREAKFAST OPTION/ SNACK

I know we make it seem like we literally eat cake and chocolate and burgers and fries for breakfast , but i swear, when we’re not on vacation or celebrating something, we keep it healthy and clean. This is a great healthy vegan breakfast option that i eat at least three/four times a week for breakfast. It’s kinda weird-looking and weird to prepare, but it’s really good, nutritious, and filling!

HEALTHY SNACK IDEA

I once came upon this peculiar little snack bag and instantly fell in love! Danielle (the brand name) has a variety of different chips! They are so good and good for you. Check em out

VEGAN AT THE MOVIES!

Okay, so I know 99% percent of you vegans probably go to the movies. If not, I hate to ask, but do you live under a rock? And if you do, are you Patrick Starr?

For those who are into that cinema life (doe), I’m with you. I eat, breathe, and live cinema. And as a vegan, for the first time going I was sorta bummed out because that meant no popcorn or nachos or raisenets or bunchacrunch *super sad emoji* BUT no fear my fellow motion-picture watching vegans, there are a ton of options.

My personal faves are the twizzlers, but you can also go for the skittles, swedish fish, sour patch,  sour belts, and red vines. Some guy even gave us twizzlers for free ’cause his aunt was a vegan #score

Popcorn may or may not be vegan because that buttery like substance may not actually be butter but some chemically induced, food-dyed, type of oil which (if it doesn’t clog your arteries first) may...

VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

After our big march exams, i went to stay over at my friend’s house to celebrate the exams being over. My mom’s friend bought her a pie to celebrate and was kind enough to buy me vegan cookies (yay vegan appreciation)! Lucy’s Cookies were delicious and gluten-free!! Check them out!

What inspired you to go vegan?

I: When I was 16, my sister showed me a quote by my then obsession River Phoenix that said, “When I was old enough to realize all meat was killed, I saw it as an irrational way of using our power, to take a weaker thing and mutilate it. It was like the way bullies would take control of younger kids in the schoolyard.”

I realized how much eating animal products was a way of taking advantage of power and taking advantage of those without a voice. I decided I didn’t want to hurt animals anymore. I wanted to fight for them. As I’ve grown up, I realized it isn’t just animals being silenced by higher powers, but all types of...

What inspired you to go vegan?

I was vegetarian for 2 years prior to going vegan. Then my freshman year of high school I was doing a year long research project on animal cruelty and after watching countless PETA videos decided that I couldn’t bear to harm anymore animals.

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

My absolute favorites are URTH and By Chloe. I also love a place called Seedz in St. Louis.

What are your favorite vegan dishes to make?

I love to make vegan chocolate chip cookies and acai bowls. I also really like making vegan grilled cheese.

What are common misconceptions about being vegan?

That you can’t...

Paula and Alannah

What inspired you to go vegan?

Paula: My sister was already vegetarian for a few years, then decided to go vegan. She had done so much research on veganism and was constantly telling me to try and be vegan as well, for the animals, for the world and for our own health. On Easter Eve 2015 she finally got me to sit down and watch Cowspiracy and it totally changed my mind. The next day was Easter and was the last day I consumed an animal product. I always knew what i was eating was wrong, but growing up eating animal products you kind of disassociate yourself from what your actually eating, and you don’t think that its actually an animal on your plate or you’re eating something that an animal was harmed for.

Alannah: Nothing really inspired me to go vegan, it was kind of just me coming to my senses and...

How did your yoga journey begin?

My initial experience with yoga was like that of many. I had tried a few classes and liked it, but didn’t know how to make it a daily practice. Also, I didn’t think it could possibly be my only form of exercise. Then my friends, Michelle (@bananablondie108) and Jay (@801010athlete), started a website where I could do unlimited yoga through the videos they offered for a ridiculously low price. The site is called www.thrivingplantbased.com and I LOVE it. I immediately...

Maddie Lymburner

What inspired you to go vegan?

I went vegan primarily because I met my boyfriend Kyle! On our first date, he was telling me about veganism and I was very intrigued. We then started watching documentaries, YouTube videos, reading books… basically any information we could get our hands on at the time. I distinctly remember watching Gary Yourofsky’s speech, and then seeing some slaughterhouse footage and that was it for me. I couldn’t look at animal products the same!

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

To be perfectly honest, I don’t eat out much! I really enjoy cooking and creating my own recipes, that we don’t really go out to eat often. But, when I do my favourite place to go at the moment is “Boon Burger”.

What inspired you to go vegan?

Personally, the change was the result of an awareness of environmental impacts that are created from the consumption of animal products — and along with that awareness, a realisation of the redundancy of them in both dietary and lifestyle terms! Once I was cognisant of the detriment resulting from the production of animal products, as well as the ease with which they could be eliminated effortlessly from everyday life, the choice was simple. I was also greatly interested with experimenting with plantbased recipes, and it was a whole lot of fun to explore alternatives!

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

To be fair, I don’t eat out that often as my budget can rarely stretch beyond a certain point — but Brownice in Singapore is a really wonderful...

Teresa Palmer

1. What inspired you to go vegan?
Ultimately it was a lifestyle decision, we decided as a family that veganism best fit in with our philosophy and views on the world and it felt contradictory to our core beliefs to not make the change. We feel compelled to lessen the suffering in the world and as huge animal lovers we felt like we were living in contradiction to not give up dairy etc. We had been thinking about it...

What inspired you to go vegan?

I have been vegetarian since age 10, but decided to go vegan 2 years ago. I was sick of the way that heavy, creamy foods made me feel bloated and tired after every meal, but I was afraid that going vegan would be too hard to sustain. Then, I saw a friend that I hadn’t seen in years that had gone vegan, and she made it look so easy- so I decided that I’d give it a try! After I first went vegan, I knew it was right for me.

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

What inspired you to go vegan?

So many things! Probably most formally, was the Paul Mccartney video about animal cruelty and the farming industry. Just seeing all of that made me want to part in the animal product business. More gradually, though, I started watching a lot of vegan YouTubers and reading vegan blogs and recipes about a year or so before I went vegan. I thought, “Man, those people just have so much fun with their food! And they’re so happy all the time!” It’s really inspiring to see someone so passionate about their lifestyle.

What inspired you to go vegan?

The reason why I even considered going vegetarian is totally shallow and vapid one. But I’m so grateful that it happened no matter the reason! My college boyfriend dumped me because I had gained some weight, and I was absolutely devastated. I asked my sister (aka Mrs. Vegan) what I should do. She told me “why not go vegetarian and focus on that… it will take your mind off of him, and you will lose weight!” And I did it! We wound up getting back together. Then I lost all the weight, and I wound up dumping him! 🙂

VEGAN OF THE MONTH: FEBRUARY

Cindy Chwa

What inspired you to go vegan?

CC:  My path towards the exploration of veganism was quite rocky, only because I embarked upon this lifestyle for weight loss. Slowly, my inspiration grew into something more meaningful, after my goal weight had been reached and my curiosity and interest for a more conscientious pull emerged. I watched Forks Over Knives and Cowspiracy, then switched over to Youtube to discover a magical world of vegan creators who blessed the Internet with their “What I Eat In a Day” videos. The beauty of veganism opened up to me, and I began to draw love and enthusiasm from this community that I am extremely proud to be a part of. Social media has played a major aspect in my vegan journey, and being able to freely express our opinions on food, lifestyle, culture, and problems has enriched my personal quality of life, as well as positively...

What inspired you to go vegan?

JT:  I was vegetarian for a few years before I went vegan – the reason why I initially went vegetarian is actually pretty funny. We were watching a documentary in my high school economics class that had nothing to do with vegetarianism or veganism at all – it was about the closing down of General Motors in Flint, Michigan. Basically the town went into a huge recession after the factory closed down, and this woman resorted to selling her rabbits as “pets or meat.” There was a brutal scene in the documentary where she just started slaughtering her rabbits from her tree, and I burst into tears and realized there’s really no difference between eating cows or chickens and eating our beloved pets. I eventually went vegan...

What inspired you to go vegan?

I was mostly looking for vegetarian food inspo back then and kept shifting from one page to another when I started noticing quite a lot of vegan accounts popping back onto my feed, so that’s basically how I first got interested in this lifestyle. I started having a lot of fun playing around with vegan recipes, all while realising how much more passionate I was becoming about the whole ethical side of it, and how much I agreed with the vegan message.

What inspired you to go vegan?

RY: For me, health was undoubtedly the biggest motivator and catalyst behind going vegan. After many years of being overweight, perpetually tired and also being incredibly unhappy with my physical size and wellbeing, I decided that I genuinely wanted to commit to losing weight and becoming healthier. What inspired you to go vegan?

B: I wouldn’t say anything in particular. Vegetarianism was always something I was interested in for my health and partly the animals which I then took up for about 18 months before educating myself on the realities of dairy and eggs and realizing how unhealthy they were as well.

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

C: Honestly, I first went vegan because I wanted to lose weight. I heard an interview of Rich Roll on a paleo podcast and immediately went online to check the vegan “diet”. I ended up binge-watching Freelee’s videos and went vegan the next day.

Although it took me almost 2 years to start losing the weight, I obviously realized really quickly how many health benefits it was involving. I am now growing more aware of the environmental issues and what an omnivorous diet inflicts to (on? Sorry, English…) animals.

M: I always struggled with my image and being happy with myself. I readily found things I hated on my body and had a really unhealthy relationship with food/exercise. After trying veganism however, everything seemed to fall into place. I quickly realized that I felt my best living off of a plan based diet – both mentally and physically.

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

M: Hmmmm, there are SO many. Since i’m originally based out of Connecticut, I would definitely say my go-to there, is a juice bar called The Stand. They have a multiple locations in the area and never disappoint! There is also a Juice Press a couple towns away from me which is great to have for something...

What inspired you to go vegan?

M: I was inspired to go vegan three years ago for health reasons, and over those three years it has turned from caring about myself and wanting myself to be the best I can be, to wanting the world to be the best place it can be. To caring about the animals, about the movement, and about our global health. I no longer buy leather, suede, or wool products, nor anything tested on animals! slowly and surely making my way towards a 100% vegan lifestyle.

What are some of your favorite vegan restaurants?

M: My favorite vegan restaurants in LA are Crossroads, Shojin, Gracias Madre, Plant Food and Wine, and Araya’s Place.
